  • Where do you get the motors, wires, rotation bearings, and other special equipment for these?

  • very nice!!

    good job

  • Stunning work. Well done.

  • How long did it take you to build it??

  • @ApacheSenior did you read the description?

  • @dankerthanclanker no sadly =(

  • @ApacheSenior The build was spread over two years. There were many false starts and frustrating moments...

  • @dwegmull I know what you mean, I've felt that way too, about Lego and other stuff.

  • What did you expect it to go 10000 miles an hour?:-/

  • slowest lego thigs ever

  • @labrieexpert2000 "BAWWWW IT'S NOT SUPER DUPER FAST, COZ ENGINEERING IZ GAY, I LIEK SPEED DERP!"

  • @dankerthanclanker Offensive language aside, this model is based on a real machine which weighs about 7000 tons. The real machine takes one minute per step. Most movies showing these machines are greatly accelerated...

  • Nice job great dragline

  • Any chance of some plans? I would love to build a working replica of the "Big Muskie" that once roamed these parts.

  • Thats EPIC!

  • Wow, that's amazing - keep on working!

    PS: 0:48 nice cut =D ;-)

  • SON OF A MOTHER LESS GOAT THAT IS COOL!!

  • if you want to see how to make a low range wench for the drag part im working on a vid right now that is gonna be posted in a month or so (still working out the kinks)

  • (insert number) years well spent dude

  • Cool.

  • I love these giant lego cranes there so awsome

  • really nice job man !!

  • Nice machine!

  • Did you finish it mate

  • You did one hell of a job on it.

    Very, very cool!

  • wow cool model

  • Man this is unbelievable!! Awesome!! The arm design is perfect, movements are perfect, thats a masterpiece

How did u work on it? simply trying or following a project? and in case of a project how did u do that?

As u can see im amazed by this model :D

  • @Ste3B I used pictures of real machines from a couple of books. It is not an exact replica of a real machine but rather my own engineering of such machine given the constrains of the Lego system and the properties of the material (ABS).

  • are you going to make a video of it digging lego connectors or something like that it would be rilly cool

  • THAT is beyond awesome...

Once you get the details worked out on operation, which looks like you are almost there. Are you going to work on detail? If lego would make a model kit of a dragline kit like that, they could sell a few of them, I know Dad and myself would probably buy one.

    Again, that is really cool.

I have been a legomaniac since about 1975!!!!!

    AWESOME!!!!

  • wow thats cool i wish i had one of those!

  • Very good! Now get yourself an NXT and get rid of that pesky power wire :).

    - Mike

  • @Mikemc The real machines are electrically powered via a long extension cord (typically 16000V), so the power cord is correct for the model!

  • woot you have lots and lots and lots of lego pieces

  • this dragline is very fast whit walking.

    the real draglines are slower

  • it walks like the muskie.

  • VERY GOOD!! But you should change the video preview icon.
