This trailer is not for a movie but for a kind of Japanese arcade game machine. In my opinion these animations are more faithful to the original manga in style, but I suspect because they are costly to produce, it would be hard to make into a full length feature film until Riyoko Ikeda secured enough funds and is sure that this film could earn money. The film got delayed till 2009, and no dates are yet fixed for its production.

@isabella5949 3D film is going to be expensive, and perhaps the author does not want a mere adaptation of the manga. If you decided to produce 3D, then a lot of scenes and action taking advantage of the 3D movie technology has to be created, or else its not worth the effort or money - I think that's why the film is delayed again and again.
