  • I love the music. I love brass Gypsy music!!!

  • WTF HEAD BUTT? Holy shit lol!!

  • gotta love this music ;P roma music ftw.

  • elbows to the head allowed?

  • SHIT MUSIC!

  • you know the traditional karate. to practice a type of technique does not mean that others can not be applied or otherwise depending on the situation.

the difference is we see karate is always under the rules of a contest that is designed for non-fatal strokes. since karate is based on finishing your opponent with one blow if possible, for it to attack vital points or soft areas where there is a lot of pain.

  • @quichuista on the paper you are right.in reality, having trained in a contact way+being used to fighting where you can be knocked out still prevails over a non-contact art.kudo has a lot of techniques that are considered to be illegal in most combat sports, its the closest you can get to a real fight if you stay in a sport context.

"to practice a type of technique does not mean that others can not be applied or otherwise depending on the situation"can be turned the other way round ;)

    regards

  • fucking music1

  • WTF?!?! is happening at 0:05?

  • I love this style, I fought in 2001 World Championships and have fought MMA. I focus on Realistice Self-Defense but keeping of "Budo" as this style does ww. danthewolfman com or ww. MMA4SelfDefense com

  • Музон клевый!

  • Do you guys think kudo would be useful in a real street fight????

  • Of course! Why do u ask?

  • cuz I was thinking of taking Kudo or a ground-fighting style like bbj or sambo... not sure which 1.

  • Kudo is not a ground fighting style. While Kudo does go to the ground it is limited to 30 seconds and there is no G'N'P. Personally I think with the Gi, it adds a much more realistic effect if you were fighting in the streets (with clothes). It will definitely prepare you for all sorts of situations.

  • Well, if you want to succed in 30 seconds you need to be fast as shit and effectiv. It's the same reason judokas can acually be good groundfighters dispte lacking the more advanced techniques that exist in for example BJJ.

  • I completely agree! If you do go to the ground in the street, you better be fast and effective as well!

  • Take Kudo, well... If you want to do it for self defence,do Kudo, for a sport bjj or sambo.Kudo is about self defence, they want to emphisise how dangerous it is to be on the ground in a real fight, so the grappling they do is Judo, more emphisis on throws, slams, which off the matt could possibly kill the other person on a sidewalk,I KNOW they wouldent be very happy,I belive knowing ground fighting is VERY important, but in the street its a bad place to be,so use it to get up if your in the street

  • @GuamKomudo Ok Kudo is not self defence. If it was self defence there wouldn't be any elbow hits or head butts. If you want self defence take up Hap kiddo. Kudo was not ment to teach you how it is on the streets. You learn kudo to develop psysical and mental strength and to become a better person. And if youi disagree you can check the official site and the principles of kudo.

  • That makes no sense at all. You can use anything in self defense, especially elbows and head butts xD There's no set techniques ONLY used in self defense. Look up Krav Maga... REAL self defense is doing WHATEVER you need to do to live, such as shooting the person, or picking up chair and hitting them with it, elbows, headbutts. Kudo DOES help you become a better person and mental strength etc. But you can't argue that you can't use Kudo techniques to defend yourself.

  • @GuamKomudo Well, that means every single martial art teaches you self defence. It depends on the person wether to use it for defence or offence. But in the matches you have to knock you opponent out and that's not defence man :D. So yeah i agree with the fact that offence is the best defence and that you can't use it to defend yourself. But kicking their butt to begin with would be way easier :). Oh yeah and the guy who made this video is saying ''ex karate''. WTF?

  • @GuamKomudo aggred

  • Wish Kudo was around here in Texas, you can serious beat someone down with this! Still need to know Bjj IMO.

  • More useful that semi/light contact arts such as Goju/Shorin/Shotokan Karate and TKD, and more useful that full contact arts that neglect a huge factor of fighting, i.e. striking or grappling. (Kyokushin/MuayThai/Judo). More real that MMA, as it includes headbutts and groin shots, and less dangerous to the face thanks to the space helmet. (I'm a Karateka + Judoka.)

  • What's it like in the space helmets?

    - Foggy, hard to breath, sweaty?

I use headgear with plastic cage (10mm bars). I had to cut the mouth bars becaues it was blocking my sight. - Couldn't see the feet coming at me. Still not the best.

  • I use this type of helmet for fighting system jujutsu and i quite like them, hey don't get foggy because they are ventilated. you should try them out.

  • Thanks poncecomplex. I might try the "space helmet" one some day.

  • Although i don't think headbutts are a good idea i think you're right. I practice jujutsu and karate and i think a more thorhough approach to mixing both styles and some others is the perfect way.

  • Yeah real useful because I fought against Kudo fighter and got my ass kick real hard! xD Kudo rulit!!!

  • just a note, the helmets just protect fighters from bruises and cuts, the still feel the impact and can still be knocked out.

  • maddest combat sport ive ever seen

  • People say that this is a combination but from what I heard and saw from people in Okinawa, this is how Karate guys originally fights.

  • Ya, it looks alot like the traditional Karate, Karate and Jujutsu together. Its about not dying. This is basically your MMA but with Japanese styles lol I like this because they have protective head protection which means they can go full force with less injurys, but you know your kicks are good when you can KO someone with a protective helmet! lol

  • Yeah, Karate used to have headbutts and throws and other grappling/submission moves but all that has been taken away since as you can see in this video that it's too violent and was considered not necessary in the modern day world. Especially because of the headbutt, there's less people that wants to take up Daido juku.

  • it only apparently protects from cuts man thats the point less disease!!! i guess? lol

  • BTW, why nobody commpalins about THAT HORRIBLE "SONG"???

  • I think it's kind of interesting and funny how they chose that song for this video.

  • KARATE is KARATE, it has many styles; while you fight with your "empty hands" IT IS KARATE!!! "Karate its not a sport, its an ART": Hidetaka Nishiyama. Ossu!

  • this seriously looks like a hockey fight

  • bar brawl :)

  • karate striking can involve boxing too and kickboxing, either way its still all the same, karate teaches boxing and kickboxing tech. and more, so its still karate.

  • its karate, it ll always be karate. they have kyokushin traditions for bowing and the karate Gi is being worn not a jiu jitsu gi, lets see karate belts, and theyre using karate striking tech. too.

  • no, it is like a single-weave judo gi, you pull on a karate gi, and the sleeve will tear off of it

  • actually thats dead wrong, karate gi doesnt tear that easily i know cuz i have...a few.

  • Even a thick heavy double weave judo gi can tear with enough punishment. A karate gi is generally thinner and can take less punishment in comparison. This isn't a big deal if you don't grapple with your gi much. However daido juku has quite a bit of grappling and hence their use of single weave judo gis.

  • lol i dont care what gi it is really, l0l just as long as ppl realize that Karate can be realistic like this and that this sport is mixed with karate then im aight. cuz thats wat it is, Karate, Boxing, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, and either muay thai or kickboxing.

  • ok well just cuz its realitc doesnt mean its not karate, karate can be realistic too, btw most karate schools teach u the same tech. incase you didnt know, and also it shouldnt be up to MMA wether or not its called karate, it should be up to the ppl in the art. if i was doing this id call myself a karate fighter.

  • u make things 2 complicated....this is combat karate, it is MMA becuz it mixes thai boxing, sambo, judo, jujutsu everything into one. and the helmet doesnt protect from pain and shock...just blood

  • no its actually Boxing, Judo, Karate, Kiu Jitsu combined, oh yea KYokushin Karate that is.

  • y are they saying EX karate?

just cuz its more realistic than other styles doesnt mean its not karate.

  • It's not karate becouse they change name from "karate" to "kudo".

  • dude its a mixture of Karate, Judo, boxing, Jiu Jitsu thats why its called kudo.

  • It's karate, but its just a different style of karate.

  • @AkademiaSarmatia hang on isn't it called kudo because its kyokushin karate + judo?

  • @shuriken86 it was daido juku karate do, now its just KUDO, like Judo or smthing else

  • @shuriken86 most of them did karate before they started kudo, and kudo is nothing more than a mixture of karate and judo

  • This is an awesome karate, but I think shidokan is much better. Shidokan= Kyokushin, jujutsu, a little bit of Muay Thai.

  • OSU from volos,GREECE!

  • OSU from Serbia!

  • Despite the music this is pretty intense. :P

  • I agree.

  • its jipsy music and you fuckers dont have that honnor to listen to this music you fucked up americans suck have no history dont know shit fuck you all ,,,,hasmo car ,,ya fuckers

  • that music simply doesnt match with fight

  • Fucking stupid music

  • Perhaps it is stupid to you.. But in Europe somewhere I think some people like it very much, I also dont like, I think it is funny. But it is not stupid... Many people like, just you dont, so its not stupid, you just dont like it. Dont say the other peoples likes is stupid...

  • This is an really interesting martial art.

it's like kyokushin with punches to the face and grappling.

I am a Kyokushin practicioner, and This looks awsome to me.

  • It's a funny song, but they coulda did better.

  • This matches the punching rythem. Watch it and look at the punches, and listen to music ...

  • Love the music.

  • fuck this music is a piece of shit!

  • Why not just take up MMA? lol

  • Isn't it mma already lol

  • it is mma.... but i guess mma is only tap out shorts, tatoos and goatess...

  • good vide....fucking song

  • the song is suck

  • Why does it say ``ex karate´´?

  • It is no longer a karate style. They decided it wasn't karate anymore because one of the main things is that there is no kata.

  • I know that but why was it compared to Karate, even though it has it's roots from kyokushin It was never really like a Karate style, don,t you think so too?

  • Yeah... But because of that major thing, they decided it wasn't part of the system anymore.

  • While I was practicing Daido, there was very simple katas and Daido was known as Karate.

Actually the only difference that I can see now, is that they have no Kata anymore. But everything else is the same.

When I was practicing it, Kata was not important at all.

I say it was a Kudo from the begining.

    Osu

  • kata is important..it builds body balance ..mind balance ..ana improve foot work..regardless u felt itor not ...

    salute

  • Ya, Kata is important because its not teach you to fight, just make your muscles because use to move that way, muscles is became stronger in the movments and your body can do it more powerful.

  • Kata isn't necessary.

Other fighting styles such as Boxing, Muay Thai, Kickboxing and BJJ don't have kata, yet they're strong fighting styles.

  • It helps build a "Fight mode" If your talking and laughing during Kata training, your not doing anything... You need to imagin every block and every attack, someone is in front of you and you are fight them. Dont say things arnt necessary when masters have do it for hundreds of years... obviously if it wasent necessary

  • nice explanation. u sure know how to fight girl

  • i think katas are necessary as theyre made for understanding the technique in detail. but some katas are abit stupid like the point sparring which doesnt help us what so ever.

  • Point sparring is dumb I think too lol

Remember I was in Kempo when I first come to USA Sai? There we do that little bit, also real sparring, but anyway. The points are stupid, they can miss by 2 ft and still get point! I hate that, the round is SO fast! and no one is even get hit yet lol

  • muay thai got kata.kata is often applied on the system wich combines more foot work and more mixed throws, punches and kicks to the opponent..u'll.. find..katas in almost any full contact martial art..like u wont find it in wrestling grapling boxing and remeber, there is a diffrence between methods or a systems of fighting and between a martial art..boxing isnt a martial art by it self its a method of fighting..salute

  • What are you talking about muay thai have no kata, original old muai thai school have lot of sistematic dancing, daido juku has the same kata as kyokushin, the guy from kyokushin open the firt joku kai school. OSU.

  • It was no longer considered Karate anymore because of "nowadays". The real Karate back in the days didn't consider "how" you should beat the opponent but just "win" not matter how ridiculous or stupid you look. Because they didn't see the point in losing.

The only code of honor or whatever it is within the Karate practitioner was not to hold a weapon and/or already carry a weapon before the fight.

  • No, Karate was invented by the Okinawa people to fight us Japanese lol In Japanese is mean this Kara-empty te-hand

Or in english is equal to unarmed. You CAN use weapons and karate. Karate is when you arnt have a weapon, I see many stupid movies in USA that say our honor was so many weird stuff. Or over exsagerate it. Sure is honor to die in battle long time ago, in WWII my grandpa was blow himself up with granade so not get captured. But I dont like USA movies tell false things...

  • I know that Karate was created in Okinawa, and I also said in Karate, one of the code of honor or etiquette, was to not have any weapons around with you. Which is what I said in the comment that I wrote four months ago.

  • Karate and Kobudo (fighting with simple weaponry) have always been connected. The bo stick and tonfa were (and are) widely used in Karate. There was no code of honor, the philosophy of evading conflict was pure logic - the more you fight, the more you get hurt.

  • Yes, I know that old Karate being used during war time popularly used weapons just like how Jujitsu used weapons as well. But the one I mentioned was the kind of code of honor to keep in daily life. Code of honor changed over time and I'm not too sure which one that was.

  • there is going to be an event in NYC that will feature Sogo karate. Very similar to Daidojuku. Email me for more details

  • Daidojuku rulz.....im fighting on september 18 my debut , wish me luck!

  • this is verry basic an eficient,i like it!

  • Kudo Masks are cool. I email them 2 years ago about getting those mask, and no one email me back.

Last June the Founder of this style gave a seminar in NYC. I missed it. I saw a photo of the seminar. Damn only 8 in attendance. If I knew about it sooner. I would have went

  • Musiс SUCKS!!!!

  • Goran Bregovic - Kasalsnjikov. Just to know this an artist from Serbia. It's really nice to hear our music. And, i would like to try this. I am training karate, I WOULD DEFENITLY TRY THIS! COOL VIDEO

  • goran bregovic - kalashnijkov

  • oh god...who have done this video is a crazy genius!link daido juku with this song!is....i have no words..is an operation made bye a genius!

  • who playing the song and what's the name of it. I was listening to it a few nights ago in a nightclub and everybody dancing. Reminds me of Taraf De Haidouks or Fanfare Ciocarlia but these guys sound russian to me. Anyways nice highlight. I really enjoy Dadido Karate

  • I loved the video, the music ... well... I think the song "Whoop that trick" would've been more appropriate. I think they have that posted.

  • this martial art is sooo great to....see `cause i dont think i`ll last one minute in the dojo..

but still much repect for this kind of karate...it`s allround!

    R.

  • I might buy some of those Kudo Masks, they would be handy in an mma gym, so you could train with elbows and knees to the face without ripping the shit out of each other.

  • Since when do astronauts where Gi's and attack eachother...

  • XD Now they just need aikido's magic pants :p

  • finally karate demonstrate the way it's suppose to be, none of that point fighting crap we see a lot in the states.

By the way please don't call it MMA karate, karate always had throws in it's repertoire of techniques it's just that they fell into disused because they were not allow in competition.

  • I do Taekwondo, but I respect the fact that karate and MMA should never be right beside each other. Good post. I hate point fighting. I hate that even in the newer TKD schools, speed can always win a point match. Crappy...

  • I'm not saying speed is not important, but it should not always decide a match. Know what I mean? Old school TKD is still better.

  • because theyre hands are busy beating the shit out of each other.

  • why did nobody in the whole video keep there hands up?

  • The music is Gypsy i think.

  • ... I absolutely LOVE the music.

Daido Juku is probably the single most well rounded system I've ever seen in the ring. Great stuff.

  • What is this Daido Juku Kudo? Looks like Karate plus Judo to me. Ground-fighting with these masks on must be a bitch. Interesting to watch though.

  • Daido juku is a style created by mixing kyokushin karate and judo (with a sprinkle of other stuff thrown in for good messure -Daido juku guys are pretty open minded).

  • oh yeah. And "Kudo" is the name of their competition format.

  • i like the idea of it, what i find funny is the helmets

and like kyokushin i think thesse fighter should go to ufc and bring the real martial arts spirit back to it

  • they believe in the kudo way, and they refrain from fighting for money

  • sorry i meant budo >.>

  • actually, you find plenty of pro daido juku guys in japanese vale tudo and pancrase tournaments in japan.

  • Great Video.. great music (-: something different
