  • The versions from 1980 (including this one) are so cool and chilled out by Jimmy!! :D

  • I posted 2 days ago and have listened to this so many times. JPJ on the piano changes the whole vibe. BEAUTIFUL isn't close to a word for it. Jimmy must have really been in love with that woman. Does anyone know who it's about??? When was this recorded? Really great sound for a bootleg. My brother had bootlegs of Zep about 35 yrs ago, they were filled with crowd sounds and not easy listening. This is ROMANTIC. Jimmy's solo is 2 1/2 mins long. Ahhh. Miss it. Songs now are this long TOTAL, so sad.

  • This is my fav live Zep song & this version is the absolutely most amazing & beautiful one I've heard yet. The comment about the shit that sells NOW is crap is right on! No heart, no soul, it all sounds the same. Jimmy is the Master. Ck out "STAIRWAY" solo with Slowhand & Beck & watch their faces when Jimmy shreds the last rif. They were supposed to each play a solo but Slowhand's jaw drops & Beck looks like he is lost. GOOD STUFF!!!

  • Page must have been in some crappy mood, just listen, his guitar is crying......beautiful....

  • Not bad version @!!!!!!!!

  • nice,really nice........thanks !

  • This is so fucking awesome, it makes me tear a little to realize how fucked up this world is today, and how all our music is created by pussies and piece of shit gangsters... why?

  • John Paul Jones is the soul of Led Zeppelin.

  • This is live in Frankfurt Germany I believe. One of the best concerts out of the whole 1980 tour. Great performance and improvs.

  • this is incredible footage...THANK YOU!!!!!! sooooo sooooooo hot!!

  • i want to be there. front row. then i can go.

  • Good but not great. 1980 was a banner year for Pagey and SIBLY. He was going the fuck off almost every night. Was it just the progression of the song? Was it the grade of heroin that he injected that night? Was it the really wonderful sex he was getting from his 15 year old girlfriend? Who's to say. Point is the man was a genius and whatever fired his creativity should be legal EVERYWHERE and we should all be into it.

GOD BLESS THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME-THE MIGHTLY LED ZEPPELIN

  • This sounds really nice with piano. Then again this song always sounds good.

  • at last...i saw a version where the piano is emphasized

  • wow, if heard this song dozens of times..IT'S THE BEST

  • i think this song is so awesome because its basically all improv and shows the awesomeness of the real led zeppelin

  • SIBLY Has always been my favorite song & the Live versions are always great.

  • downright dirty

  • WOW!!! what a killer version of this. Jimmys solo sounds really cool on this. My favorite slow song from Zeppelin, I like it better than stairway. I heard they threw it together in 45 min. to fill the album and Jimmy said he could have done better on the solo on the studio version.

  • TBH I usually prefer the studio version over most live versions though this is and the one from TSRTS are amazing.

The one from the 02 reunion was quite clumsy and sloppy I felt.

  • @PlatinumJestar I agree with you. Although I love this song in almost any version, I really didn't like the live one on How the West Was Won...Robert sang it in such a mocking way, its power was really diminished.

  • Actually, this the only song on Zeppelin III that they played live before recording it. And yeah, he took a lot of takes for the solo but still wasn't satisfied. Definitely my favorite slow Zep song too, if not my favorite song by them period

  • Jimmy Page did his guitar solo in one take. Engineer Terry Manning called it "The best rock guitar solo of all time."

  • @zepboy427

I'm so thankful I got to hear this... I can't think of another solo that is any better!! it's so good it hurts!!

  • @kylestolz1990 relly?

  • This is not a song....This is THE song.... Few words for who's a good intenditor

  • This is red wine, dark chocolate with your massage, Good :)

  • cool with piano instead of organ

  • Anyone know the date of this show??

  • 2nd or 3rd of July 1980

  • extraordinary! the most magical song ever written. big thank you to you sublime. krishna

  • It's amazing how over time a song such as this 1 can jus mutate and go from such a raw and basic structure like this version, to the total epic it had become in their SRTS days!!! This is why I love live music better than studio! & this is why to me the Beatles will always be second to Zep!!!

  • the drug thing is old news.Zep lives on!!

  • JIMMY PAGE IS GOD.

  • John Paul Jones plays very very good

    I love him

  • this is the best song on the 3rd album waht a song very stoned to.this verrsion is better it should have been an organ instead of piano.

  • Plants In Through the Out Door 79-80 voice was amazing. I love how you can split Roberts voice into eras.

  • his later voice is boring. nothing will ever compare to his voice when he was in his prime, 68-73, it was the best voice in the history of rock

  • In your opinion. Actually his high note capability left by the beginning of 73. Actually, his 77 voice is better then 73. I just love the bluesiness of his 79-80 voice

  • Actually his voice now is the best it ever has been IMO, much more refined and better control. He has said that he really learned to sing once he hooked up with Allison. Trust me I LOVE his early voice, he had amazing range but far less control.

  • allison krause should be shot and killed and so should plant for collaborating with that cow cunt instead of doing the reunion tour that page, jones, and bonham want to do.......and p.s. don't feel special about the thumbs up i hit it by mistake when i tried to give your comment a thumbs down @CWSiler

  • I love Robert's voice all through the years. He was amazing in the whole amount of time Led Zeppelin was together as well as the rest of the band.

  • He sounded best in early 68-73 I think

  • For me, all though the years Led Zeppelin was together. But I would have to agree with you. Plant sounds distinctly better in the early years.

  • Beautiful performance. Such an emotional, meaningful, tear-jerker of one of the greastest masterpieces created by the best band that ever existed on this planet. Led Zeppelin forever!

  • There's nothing wrong with his voice!

  • knob head, arsehole, prick, thats you that is!

  • your beyond stupid. go pop in one of ur pantera CDs cuz thts all you apparently listen to you dumb cunt.

  • this is so vintage zep

  • nice! JPJ on piano instead of organ.

  • i sometimes forget how much i love led zeppelin

  • thanks for sharing. blues at its best

  • which is in SOME WAYS unfortunate... i grew up with led zep LOVE THEM i was LITERALLY born while a led zep tape was playing! mum went to a concernt in '92 with me in her stomache! **april 6 1993** unfortunate becuase, i grew up with the BEST it gets no better, those ppl that are later introduced are amazed, then again, im not missing out *smile*

  • nice

  • Fa cachè!

  • oh that is another performance so bluzy

  • It is a shame, they sounded great. Imagine what they would have sounded like in the 80's. R.I.P Bonzo

  • Awsome performance and great sound quality!

  • jimmy zep forever the best same alike Ludwig van Bet. is my focus and proyect

  • Plant's voice is terrible at this time... too much drugs. Listen his voice after the solo. Not a bit compared like it use to be.

  • Agree. But owerall, LZ rules. OK ? :)

  • Oh sure!! LZ rules, but I prefer to ignore this video. Hehe!

  • or a pack a day for 15 years lol

  • agree too watch the live version 1973, it's my favourite version

  • I don't believe it was mostly drugs, it was Page who had the worse with drugs. Plant did not rest his voice and resulted in this...

  • smoking didn't help either

  • Plant was a avid Hasish smoker, as evident in New York '73

  • Dude everyone knows Zepp used every drug known to man. The song Kashmir was inspired by an acid trip Plant had in the Middle East. Plant also admits cocaine was used in the studio frequently. Page commented once that Led Zeppelin was ALL ABOUT DRUGS for him.

  • not too mention the whole new orleans story jonesy has to tell haha.

  • What year was this performed?

  • im sitting here shaking my head in amazement.that almost made me all misty.lol anyhow that is insanely good blues.thanks alot for this boot.

  • i love this song don't get me wrong, but i think towards their later concerts he tried a little too hard with it, the version at MSG in 73 is the best imo

  • this is why they are the best and will never be beaten.

the feeling that page puts across that guitar is second to none, legends.

  • what year is this from???

  • 1980

  • oh god please tell me you also have the achilles there at the end

  • I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

    thank youuuuuuuuuuuu for posting this!

  • if anything that you take with you, this is Page at his best.

  • Jimmy Page always pushing..maybe not perfect but always inspiring and emotional. WOW never heard this version before but love Pages playing here..again he visits the familier but adds new styles and experiments. He is the MASTER!

  • @vettezeppelin

and he had plenty of heroin in him

  • John Paul Jones is amazing! What is he playing here? Sounds like a piano.

    Thanks

  • Yeah I think it is a piano.

  • Thank you...great post :)

I love so much SIBLY !

  • Grand piano, the '79-'80 version after years of the Fender Rhodes piano

  • Thank you so much for this great information JusCuz10 !!!

    Zepplin On

  • @HumptyKing he plays piano for some parts

  • is this 1980?

  • one of the last shows they ever did, july 1980

  • Blueberry hill, when zep played live, Plant belted out Blueberry hill.

  • After listening to it twice, I have another comment, I own very, very, many zep bootleg cd's I have never heard this version. I though blueberry hill was rare.

  • Jesus, Never heard zep play this song so good.

    Emotional. WOW!!! Thanks for uploading.

  • wow jimmy musta been in some kind of a mood that day never heard him play the guitar like this in the start of it actually kinda cool very different from other versions ive heard and robert to they were in rare form that day

  • Check the solo at 4:40

Utterly amazing, the GREATEST solo you will ever hear.

  • That part is what makes me love this version.

  • Yeah, Jimmy was crying on this version.

  • serioulsy how do you know

    more detail ?

  • yea you could definitely feel the emotion! I love this version.

  • 1:20 yea sounds like a baby! *giggle*

  • thank you really, a pleasure
