I don't think it's fake - the "striped grass" moves exactly in sync with the camera focus and the rest of the pitch. Training grounds do not necessarily need the same pattern all throughout the pitch, in fact it may be smarter to have a stadium pitch-sized section striped for matches and the rest of the lawn non-striped.
