If that trap is suppose to be the Brazen Bull. where are the sounds of a roaring bull? The actual Brazen Bull had a system of tubing inside its head that converted the high frequency of a burning victim into the low frequency bellow of an infuriated bull.

@dmb1892 I have read about it in article "Ancient torture machines" . But this trap is meant to roast victim to death , it doesn't transfer high pitched voices into low pitched bull roars. As you can see , Brazen Bull trap does not fully closes , there are small openings between two shells that closes when times runs out. So , Bobby heard unmodified screams of Joyce.
