Yeah, OK, regarding my previous comment - it was clearly a joke.

The sound man might not be lying. When I sit down wearing jeans with the phone in my left side pocket, sometimes my phone does turn on because the button gets depressed by the stretched fabric. It's never caused a problem, but now I check to make sure that doesn't happen. It might be the first time it happened to the sound man. Penn shouldn't have assumed the guy was lying. The sound man wasn't in a position where he could argue with a celebrity.

Of course, he might have been lying too.

@technowey Good point. It's happened to me, too. Also my phone has made calls from my pocket by rubbing against the lining. Also I think Penn was a lil upset only cuz the guy in his mind made up a ridiculous lie instead of manning up. You can tell he was mad cuz he didn't break a smile or laugh and went right to his book for a plug...

Like one time i checked my phone and had a missed call from my self my phone never rang it wasnt on silent and best of all it was a flip phone and was closed so there is no way i could have done it accidentally not to mention when i tryed to call my self it didnt work and wouldnt say i had a missed call....wtf

But you are right in a confused sort of way.

What had happened was that I had initially failed to turn off my phone, then someone called me during the movie.

I answered and then hung up on them, and proceded to turn off the phone. The phone signaled that it was shuting down with the usual audio and visual, and it did actually power off.

But then it spontaneously began to ring 1 min later as that same person called back.
