im confused...what is the difference between all of the droids..aren't they all just the same thing? i do not understand why they couldn't just stick with 1 droid? can someone plz explain???????
@Sandoval9995 They're similar and both solid. I think it mostly depends whether you want a smartphone with a slide-out keyboard or not. Those who don't want that tend to prefer the candybar design. If you like the idea of a QWERTY, Droid 3 is probably the better choice because it offers a front-facing camera, 1080p video recording instead of 720p, and it already has Gingerbread (Droid X2 still waiting on the update from Froyo) - to add to the 1GHz dual-core OMAP4 processor and qHD display.
if the droid 3 does come to verizon in early july should i get that or x2? is the touch function of the screens on motorolas phones like the iphones? because the kind on the lg dare (u have to actually push the screen) sucks. Do you have to pay extra for gps? My plan was to get the iphone 5 in june but that didnt exactly work out so now im stuck with my shitty lg dare with a scratched to hell screen. Ive had iOS with ipt 2 and 4 but i dont want to wait to get an iphone until sep. help?
@nafoonthebaboon Get the X2 if you're only going to choose the Droid 3 or Droid X2. I would personally get a Samsung Droid Charge or HTC Thunderbolt because I find them better phones, but you'll be happy with the DX2 .
All mainstream Android phones have good touch screens like iPhones, so you'll like it. The Navigation app is free with Google's.
Get your phone before July 7. Unlimited data ends then, so you'll be limited with 2GB for the same price.
@KatsumeBlisk i have decided to get the droid3 because of the keyboard and it has identical, if not unnecessarily better (1080p recording), specs. I would get one of the phones you mentioned but i live in a small town in iowa that isnt exactly top priority for 4g, but i do have good 3g connection.
I think i have a way to avoid the tiered pricing but i not sure if it will be worth it or if it will even work. I would get a droid x2 on july 6, and when the droid3 comes out (rumored for the 7th)...
@KatsumeBlisk ...I would use the 15 day return policy (Ive heard about it but does it exist?) to return the x2 for the 3 (for free? past pricing indicates the x2 and 3 will both cost 200). I dont think it would count as a terminated contract, but im not sure. Should i dare ask an employee at a verizon store? i dont want to piss them off trying to avoid their system or anything! lol
thanks for the help and answering my questions too!
@nafoonthebaboon You could try that. I know they have 14 day return policy. I don't know if that means you can get the same contract though. You could ask and just say that if you don't like the X2, can you get the same contract on a different phone. You may like the X2 more the the D3. My dad got a D2 because he wanted the keyboard, but now he barely uses the keyboard. You may find that you like the X2's keyboard enough. I doubt the D3 has 1080 because the X2 doesn't and I don't see them...
@KatsumeBlisk Yes you are correct. There is a 14 day return policy to which you can take the phone back to the store and exchange it for a different one or cancel the contract completely. You will just have to pay the difference in the price between the two and possibly the 35 dollar restocking fee unless they decide to wave that fee. Contract will not change. After the 14 days you will be under the contract though. Hope this helps with all the confusion.
@nafoonthebaboon having a better camera on the Droid 3 when it has an 8MP camera as well. That's just my opinion, so I could be wrong since the specs haven't officially been released. When you ask the employee about this stuff, just make it out that you want the X2, but you want to make sure so that if you decide you don't like it, you understand what happens. Good luck!
@KatsumeBlisk That's a really good idea! you are right when u say the official specs haven't been released, but most sites say that the 3 will have a TI OMAP4 processor, which could be y 3 has 1080 vs 720 on x2, which has Tegra 2, or it could be that it has 2.3 gingerbread vs 2.2 froyo. Some sites say that it will have 1 gb of ram but i have to agree with the majority saying 512mb. i figure that if both cost the same and have same specs, a keyboard will be an added bonus. Thanks again!
@busterswordslash The newer UI probably wasn't ready when the Atrix released a few months ago. The question is... will the Droid X2 carry over virtually the same UI when it updates to Gingerbread... or will it get the even newer version that will be featured on the Droid Bionic?
finally some1 who doesnt sound like a fag reviewing the droid!!

Random question, is there any way to change the color of the white dock o n the bottom? Or change it completely to a different style?
