To be honest, i thought they were somewhat on the same level of fun. i love them both but i have to admit but i do agree that the graphic novel does come off as a little pretentious but they both have the same amount of flaws in my opinion.
I don't think the last line was him being pretentious, i think it was just what the character would say, Wesley is kind of an asshole, he would say that, lolz.
How am I wrong explain? Miller even says thats his superpower is just that killing anything rather than being something like deadshot which I find very boring character
The innovative thing is that his superpower is that he can kill anyone no matter how strong they are. Thats it, thats why it was cool he could beat superman. He's an evil mcguyver. Youre looking way too into it and never saw the whole point, he is the most dangerous man alive.
@thenewdeal38 Shut up dude, yes it was an amazing comic and it was my favorite comic besides watchmen and kick ass and this was a bad review but you don't know what your on about
All right, honestly, WTF. The comic was supposed to be pretentious! That was actually its purpose, if anything! It's supposed to be amoral, to show that if you've lived a life of shit, you're gonna pick a life of raping and killing. And the rip-offs of the villains were actually funny. The comic didn't suck, all of you who like the movie and especially hated the comic can all go to hell!
I felt both were just as enjoyable if you take them as being exclusive of each other. The comic actually has some life lessons hidden in there about rediscovery of identity and purpose along with how power corrupts and other themes.
The movie is an exciting action piece and actually parallels how religious fanatics in real life manipulate teachings to get their followers to do their bidding. They kept the comic theme of identity and purpose too.
Yeah, I've read Wanted and it was nothing special. The story itself comes from nowhere and, in the end, it leads nowhere. And the parodies aren't that apparent/humorous anyway.
fuck you WANTED IS FREAKEN AWSOME WHO CARES IF ITS BEEN DONE BEFORE (IT HASENT YOU DUMB ASS NOT LIKE THAT) SECON: ITS A REALLY GOOD COMIC COMPARED TO THE OTHER CRAP COMIC THATS COME OUT LATELY SERIOUSLY MAN .
YOU OVER THINK SHIT YOU REALLY DO I MEAN SERIOUSLY
HALF THE SHIT YOU SAID THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THE MOVIE OR COMIC EVER THOUGHT ABOUT YOURE ONE OF THOSE IGNORANT CRITICS!!!!!!!!!!!!
ah, I hate it when people rant about something being "not original or creative". Ok, sure, it wasn't the greatest comic ever, but it was pretty decent, why rant about stuff being "not original". you really annoy me
oh ok, well.. then you don't annoy me :) I agree with you in that Mark Millar thinks he is so great... but I gotta say, that's also probably the reason why he is so hit and miss.
I mean, when he is good, he is reaaaally good.
ok, I will do a hip-hop comparison here: Eminem also thinks that he is the greatest rapper alive and that arrogance (that is obviously not true) makes some of his raps REALLY good, while most of his other works fail.
I saw the movie before I read the comics and now I don't think I can watch the movie again. The comic was much better than the movie.

What do you mean "He didn't do anything"? He killed the entire assasin fraternity and chose live his own life. How's that not doing something?

@blowshimselfupdude I thought it was parodying all superheroes comics in general, not just the DC universe, where does it say that?

But I didn't find the book pretencious. It was the author talking about the book that made me feel that way.
blowshimselfupdude 2 years ago
haha ya, but i guess that was the whole point. Only a pretencious author could purposely write a book thats supposed to be pretencious.

It was only the brash dialogue that put me off

How in the world could Cross survive.

the movie blew the comic out of the water. especially the bullet curving! the comic sucked

You mean like going around raping and killing people? No I guess I haven't doen much with my life.
If you mean in comparisson to the movie and comic creators. I'm taking steps to be able to work in both fields.

You missed the point. It's not that it's not original. It's that it's not original and the writer thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Thats true.
I've heard his Fantiastic 4 run is really good. And I liked his Wolverine run.
blowshimselfupdude 3 years ago
Anyone else think that (in the comic) Wesley was deliberately made to look like Eminem? cause he really does
kometman 3 years ago
He is. And Fox is based on Halley Berry.
blowshimselfupdude 3 years ago
That really makes sense, when thinking about it. J.G. Jones did a great job with the art in this book.
