Hip-Hop is a form of rebellions, it is almost like rap. They are only subcultures, when one cannot be recognized or fit into the dominate culture; they tend to seek other means to express their anger and despair, in this case hip-hop. The extreme high tensity body movement releases the pressure and they find each other in it. Great minds think alike, however, low class ppl think alike.
i think we've all forgotten what the true meaning of hiphop really is. It's not about the social status or the baggy clothes and jewerly. It's about the freedom to express yourself through words and music trying to get an idea out to the public. THIS. is hiphop.
Im the president of the Hip HOp culture Student Association at my school and this summer i am going to China. Last summer i went to India and performed a rap using refrences to indian culture.
it's almost impossible to escape. but people that don't hav anything and still cling on their philosophy and style are so TRUE to me and i find that very fascinatin.
..hey faras.. don't u get it?! hiphop is just a way. the whole movement goes beyond that. u can also be punk, hippi or whatever.. being yourself is the key.. and yeah, unfortunately in the westernized world a lot of individualism is defined through materialistic things like clothes, blingbling.. everything is based on marketing and moneymakin. thet's the way it goes in a capitalistic system.
OMG if china wants to keep everything idenitcal then its like tell everyone not to express themselves and telling everyone that education is most important its not right! if china want to be overpowering than expressing yourself is key and locking everyone up to be the same thing! THIS IS SO NOT RIGHT!
so dressing dancing and acting like other people makes you feel like an indivdual any ways hiphop has been taken over by corpoarte america there packaging and selling indivduality as a product lol but all the consumers dress the same talk the same have you heard the content of the music latley big face hundreds plz
in my opinion these guys in this video really deservse to be called rappers, they are using rap to express their need for freedom in communist China , but not to look cool like others. plus, not many of these guys seem to be dressed like 50 cent or soulja boy.
hiphop is very cool?? I doubted!! to me there are so many things you can do... a bunch of nuts to me! nothing more!

more artsy? more cultured? what would it be? Playing classic music when you can create your own music?
Art is what you create by yourself. Your culture is the way you think, and what do you know. Hip-Hop encourages all of that.
Peace.

It's good to see kids expressing themselves but I just wish that it wasn't though hip hop. I wish it was something more artsy or cultured.
