@justicecc25 Dude they have put heaps of effort into this one as well, they were writing material for this album pretty much the second they started touring for Shogun. Also this is the longest gap between two Trivium albums so I am confident that they will carve some serious shit up with this record.

I'm excited for the new album, but so far, this is the only song that's keeping me interested. In Waves and Dusk Dismantled were both really boring and repetitive, but this sounds a lot different. More like older Trivium.

@AlchemyOfHate hell no! dude, shogun was their best without a doubt. Ascendency was good as well as the album before that (Ember to Inferno) but Shogun was a whole other level. This album is actually sounding like a mix of Ascendancy and Shogun.
@ROXguitarist19 I thought The Crusade kicked ass. It's probably my least favorite, but after what I'm hearing from this album, The Crusade probably tops it. I am really disappointed with this new stuff :-/ I wish they'd stick with the direction they were going instead of going back to the Ascendancy style and drop tuning and all that. Shogun was amazing, and I'm sad they didn't even come lose to that with this.

I have faith in this album but only because of this song (In Waves is ok and Dusk Dismantled just sucks). Hopefully they don't pull a Bodom and sell out.

I've had enough of the syncopated palm muting from every other metal band to last me 'til I die, and the song itself just simply sucks. I'm also fairly certain Matt isn't singing in key. Drop Db was a strange tuning for them. I'm totally with you on Dusk Dismantled not being good at all. This track gives me a little hope. It's better than the others so far. However, not good enough to make me buy the album.

It's generic, and sounds very much like every nu-metal band on the market :-/ Unfortunately, I don't think I will be buying this album at all now. That chorus is so catchy perfect balance of heavy and clean. Im so pumped for this album, to me everything has been an evolution of the band, growing seeing what works, and more Importantly what they like to play...Trivium has definitely found their sound and groove. I think this album will be more concentrated and brutal than shogun.
People only compare Trivium to Metallica because of Matt's vocals... The music sounds completely different....If i were compared to James Hetfield, i'd be fuckin psyched. I think they have the right to put a couple catchy/groovy ones. Don't forget Trivium has put a song like Dying in your arms in an album like Ascendancy, or they did songs like This World Can't Tear Us Apart, so I think it's not such a big surprise hearing a song like this. They stated this is going to be the most "Trivium" album, I think it could mean that they are putting whatever they are able to write, starting with brutal, technical, getting through thrasy tunes and ending with catchy ones.
This is just horrible... i think these is going to be their first FULLY comercial gay record, the load/reload/st anger of their carrer, i just only hope that they dont keep up that way

@at0mic1188 Yea I agree with you to a certain extent. Flies, and Gunshot are played at almost every Trivium show so they could do without them, but at the same time they are two Trivium classics. When I see Trivium again, it wouldn't feel right if they don't play those 2 songs.

Musically speaking it was years ahead of anything they have ever done. 13 minute epics,blistering solos, razor sharp thrash riffs mixed with melodic and brutal vocals. Pure fucking genius in my opinion. Ascendancy and Ember were and always will be amazing but they are almost amateur compared to Shogun. Can't wait for the new album

Given that this is just a home recording,why are people judging this already? When I was a teenager,I had to put up with shitty sounding bootleg cassette tapes of gigs,which might have featured yet to be released music from my favourite bands. And despite the hissy sounds, man I treasured those tapes. Still have them.
I cant wait to hear the final studio version of this- the massive chorus and gnashing riffs with fuck off teeth with bite and clamp down even harder upon the albums release.

That chorus is so catchy perfect balance of heavy and clean. Im so pumped for this album, to me everything has been an evolution of the band, growing seeing what works, and more Importantly what they like to play...Trivium has definitely found their sound and groove. I think this album will be more concentrated and brutal than shogun.

People only compare Trivium to Metallica because of Matt's vocals... The music sounds completely different....If i were compared to James Hetfield, i'd be fuckin psyched. Whether or not you like metallica, his voice is so distinct. The new Trivium album will fucking tear. Fuck people who doubt them.

I think they have the right to put a couple catchy/groovy ones. Don't forget Trivium has put a song like Dying in your arms in an album like Ascendancy, or they did songs like This World Can't Tear Us Apart, so I think it's not such a big surprise hearing a song like this. They stated this is going to be the most "Trivium" album, I think it could mean that they are putting whatever they are able to write, starting with brutal, technical, getting through thrasy tunes and ending with catchy ones.

@at0mic1188 Yea I agree with you to a certain extent. Flies, and Gunshot are played at almost every Trivium show so they could do without them, but at the same time they are two Trivium classics. When I see Trivium again, it wouldn't feel right if they don't play those 2 songs.

@AlchemyOfHate I thought Shogun was their best album actually. Musically speaking it was years ahead of anything they have ever done. 13 minute epics,blistering solos, razor sharp thrash riffs mixed with melodic and brutal vocals. Pure fucking genius in my opinion. Ascendancy and Ember were and always will be amazing but they are almost amateur compared to Shogun. Can't wait for the new album

And as for the complaints regarding the songs "poppy" hooks here and there- Jesus, its not as though Trivium have not crafted catchy vocal hooks and melodies before,eh? Ascendency itself was packed full of the magnificent bastards.
Im fucking Loving the riffs and solo that blast out at the 2 minute mark. Huge vocal line then follows. Sweet, savage tune.

Given that this is just a home recording,why are people judging this already? When I was a teenager,I had to put up with shitty sounding bootleg cassette tapes of gigs,which might have featured yet to be released music from my favourite bands. And despite the hissy sounds, man I treasured those tapes. Still have them.
I cant wait to hear the final studio version of this- the massive chorus and gnashing riffs with fuck off teeth with bite and clamp down even harder upon the albums release.
