  • @jaymejohns

I know that one version of this song (the version from which I learned it) was on the "Gum Tree Canoe" album--which I was so glad I got signed by John at the one concert of his I got the chance to see.

  • @jaymejohns

I know that he included a studio-recorded version of this song on the "Gum Tree Canoe" album (on which I got his autograph at the one concert of his I was able to see).

    MVH

  • nice one

  • Great banjo playing. My favourite John Hartford tunes are 'Julia Belle Swain' and 'Let him go on mama', both featuring excellent banjo solos. Do videos exist of these?

  • i like granny wont ya smoke some marijuana and the golden globes the best!!!

  • The first time I heard this song was when Hartford was performing a medley of fiddle tunes solo. He put it right in the middle of the medley for a real treat.
