@micdelos Hey, I know I'm not Phil, but I am a musician myself and I'll tell you now: It's NEVER too late. You might not become a worship singing "star", but you can always use instruments to sing alone with God. If your heart is telling you to worship, then WORSHIP. buy a cheap guitar and just find an easy song that really touches your heart and sit down and learn it, then go on to the next one. "I can do all things, through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

@WonderlandAudiobooks thanks! i actually have a guitar. its in my room just there, i stare at it thinking when am i gonna have time. but i realize i just have to go for it if its something that i really desire. Im in choir, and sometimes direct choir, but ive always wanted to worship God with the guitar. i sometimes make up songs and just follow it along with random chords lol But Thanks for your words theyve really helped! @micdelos We are in almost identical situations, but instead of chemistry, my books are physics, and instead the guitar, its the voice that I lack. Like you, all I want to do praise the Lord. Phil's songs are beautiful, and he sings beautifully. I don't know how he does it. When I try, what comes out isn't too pretty, but still the desire to sing to the Lord, does please the Lord, I believe. So, may the Lord help us both to praise continually, and get all our work done too!

@mbaile25 lol yes may he help us both! i feel god leading me more and more each day to take the time that i need and just learn! i say this bc ive had two people just this week alone offer to give me lessons, and my excuse is that i dont have time, but that i will let them know...so! lets see what happens, i will pray for you also so that God leads us both in the right direction :) blessings

@micdelos @mbaile25 im in the same situation as you & with me its biology, chemistry and maths! I have so much to remember and not so much time. i learned to play the piano through youtube and now im trying to learn how to play the guitar. Its really hard cause I never did music:( just like both of you I keep feeling that urge to continue practicing...it was just last week the 1st string of the guitar sliced through my finger, my fingers are so soft and it HURTS but God is worth it all

I agree with phil being one of the best singers of our time, he's definitely up there. If you ever get a chance to see him live with his band , I highly recommend it. It was one of the best shows I have ever seen. I've been to over 60-70 shows that weren't christian and he's as good as anyone I've ever heard. Lyrically and vocilly, especially since he's living for Christ..

@druiz187 unfortunately, no :(. He does do acoustic albums (usually through pre-orders only), but I don't know how to get your hands on a copy of the acoustic albums without pre ordering. This song is on his second CD, however, titled "Phil Wickham" and it sounds VERY similar to the acoustic (with some added bass lines and guitar riffs.) You can also buy his album "Singalong" which doesn't include this song, but is an entire live show on a CD. It's VERY powerful :).

@shockpencat From what I can see he's going from a C#m7 chord (9x9900) to a C#m9 chord (9x9800) twice. If you're playing along with this particular recording however, note that Phil's guitar is a half-step down. Hope this helps.

best phil performance i've seen. i was letting it play while browsing another page and towards the end of the song when he sings the really high and more agressive notes, the thought actually occured to me, wow - that just sounded a bit like michael jackson. you have to listen to it without watching it, otherwise you know that it's phil singing and it won't work. that's if, you are really really bored. :)

Phil Wickham actually performs live solo many times. He did so at CCC vision conference, a large multi-college campus ministry. He carried the whole crowd of a few thousand people. That's true talent/skill. Props.

I am so glad that this song was written. It is exactly how I have felt in the past, and it is good to be reminded; especially when in the doldrums of mundane existence. I recommend reading "A Brief History of Time" or any other quantum physics book (or molecular biology for that matter) written for the lay person. You will surely understand, and wish for more of, "the glory of all you are". I hope that is what heaven will be. Seeing all the secrets of Our Father that we cannot know now.
