  • Just finished reading the kid Kevin Lewis you my friend are a legend

  • You are an amazing person and cant believe you came out so good in the end watched your film last night and cant stop thinking about it good luck to you an your family

  • Saw the film last night and was astonished at the sheer mental strength shown by Kevin Lewis. I feel lucky not to have suffered the abuse that he did but I think we could all learn a thing or two about triumphing over adversity from his story.

  • I have read both The Kid and The Kid Moves On and think that Kevin Lewis is absolutely amazing. To be where he is today after such an unbelievably traumatic and chilling childhood just shows how much strength and character he has. I think Kevin is an amazing writer and to share his experience in great detail with the world, as challenging as it was for him, shows just how remarkable he is. I am hoping that they have released the movie over here in New Zealand.

  • I was so saddened by this film. But he has given me inspiration to writing me own autobiography bout my past with abuse and bullying knowing tht he got through what he did has helped me slowly come to terms with what I went through. It was the best film I've ever seen. Il never forget it.

  • just seen the film, gonna buy the book now all my respect go's to kevin lewis a true man so glad u have found happiness. wish you all the best for u and your family

  • I have my file and I could not understand how no one was listening to me ! I had to do as I was told back in the 1950's I had a ruff time, but nothing like Mr Kevin Lewis. I wish him every success and more Dennis R

  • I just finished watching the movie and it was absolutely amazing every one should go watch it I really admire this man and his story and his struggle .

  • I first saw the film and then read the book in just 2 days......the book and film are quite different but still both deserve a look-in......it's almost unbelievable at what Kevin |(and his sisters and brothers) endured, just glad everything seems to be going well for him these days......

Hard to believe this stuff is still goin on, but sadly it is....:(

  • The lad what played the Middle Kevin is a very good actor who ever he is.

  • @MOONST0MP i agree, his name is Augustus Prew - he was the englissh man from charlie st Cloud and the bully from about a boy- i love his voice aswell:)

  • I read The Kid in one readin & I have 2 say my heart goes out to Kevin Lewis & what he experianced as a child no1 deserves that from anyone whether relatives, friends or associates & I ain't ashamed 2 say that reading his story from Boy to Man I cried but was overwhelmed & proud of Kevin of what he became & is 2day if & IF this channel is in touch with Mr Kevin Lewis & his family could you please pass on my sincere wishes & wish him & his family the best for the future

    Well done Kevin Lewis :)

  • beautiful film

  • Who can verify the authencity of his story? Everyone can make up a story and write a book and tell a story about their ''horrible'' childhood.

  • @majicKsaa ahh shut the fuck up asshole

  • @majicKsaa obviously if you really wanted to check the authenticity you could look at child services records and stuff, but why would you want?

I personnally come from a very similar background to "the kid" and the feelings of Inadequacy and helpless ness described in the book are almost exact to what I felt. I'm not ashamed to admit that I read this book with tears in my eyes as it brought back so many memories.

  • @TheMoshdude Because if you dont check the authenticity, people will make up stories like this to sell books.

  • Social Services sent the files regarding this case to Kevin Lewis.

  • Just watched it.

Very good film.Hope from the darkest time

  • Im halfways through his first book right now and cant put it down. Amazing story yet so horrifically sad

  • This was a great movie. Very powerful but yet very meaningful. I am going to try and find the book so I myself can read it.

  • Thanks for doing this it will help someone else to come to terms with , that life can be so difficult and so good when you deal finally can put it behind you . I didn't have the same experience as you but i lived next door to the same things that happened and i still feel some of the pain no one helped and i was only 8 and saw they needed help,so again thanks .I understood everything you feel and say

  • Thank you Kevin for telling your story. My child hood was not the same as yours but it has many similarities, and i realise now after reading your book that i had given up on my life,a part of me is still stuck in the past wishing it could have been different. But wishing can't change the past. But don't worry i think i have only one more dark tunnel to go though before finally i can be free of the past. All the best Jon :-)

  • @Leon112006

I can see that you have found life difficult to then Jon. I can understand where you coming from.

  • This book will literally change your life! I cannot wait to see the film! I'm so addicted to this book its unreal!

  • I wonder where he learned to speak like this, he grew up in Addo, which is an estate near me.

  • @Gellybaby31 Well its an estate were I am well known, keep your mouth shut muppet, if you aint got nothing good to to say, shut up, Kevin is for real and shut up idiot, where do you live???
