  • I was in that class and helped design it and I thought it was hilarious. And I'm from greensburg. So yes I sat in a basement while my house got blown to Egypt and I had to clean up the debris. Some people just need to move on and take a joke. So here's to the SCHS class of 2011! Woooo! (p.s. : our float got first, so obviously there are several people that find it humorous..) Go Green!

  • I wander how many of you ever had to sit downstairs and wait fo ryour house to be torn to shreds. I wander how many of you had to clean up all the debris from the house you used to live in for weeks afterwards. As much as I hope this never happens to anyone else, I wish you knew what it was like to loose some of your closest family and friends, and see how much fun it is to have people laugh and joke about it.

Hey! Nice float at the beginning!

But shouldn't the theme be closer to "Beat the Mavericks with Ignorance!"?

Or what about "SW Kansas: Embracing Radical Conservatism since the 1800s", or "Long Live Traditional Misunderstanding - Oh, and Beat Kiowa County, Too!"

Beat the Mavericks would have sufficed.

Two wonderful communities should know better - but that's the age we live in. I just hoped the youth would still provide hope in understanding and unity.

    They still can

I've heard about this - South Central students had every right to create that float.

The unfortunate part of this is the saddening lack of insight. Freedom of speech is important, but I don't think this is what they are celebrating- they are celebrating a week of school pride and a football game. They failed to see the population of people that they were targeting as witnesses. This does matter, and it does hurt others. Please stop condoning ethnocentrism, school admins.

  • Thanks for sharing! It brings back a lot of memories of being a TImberwolf and participating in Homecoming parades. Go T-Wolves!!!
