@RPM11111 I never understood why JW's aren't considered Christians when they believe in Jesus. (My biblical knowledge is small, and raised a JW long ago) Is it because of their refusal of the trinity or something else?
@hilldig ~ {"I never understood why JW's aren't considered Christians when they believe in Jesus."}
JW's are not Christians because they REJECT the Jesus Christ of the Bible.
They do NOT believe a person can go to JESUS and be Forgiven of their Sins and be Saved.
JW's believe their "ORGANIZATION" is The MESSIAH.
Yes, JW's will toss around Jesus' name, but they believe a person can only receive Salvation by coming TO and THRU their "ORGANIZATION",, NOT by coming to JESUS, as the Bible says.
@VAIO294 This was recently explained to me (before reading this), so I totally get it now. Jesus is the 'leader' of the 144,000 they believe will go to heaven and the WT/Jehovah is for everyone else. It's abundantly clear to me why JW's are not Christians now.
correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the biblical baptism a Jewish ritual that was fashionable in Jesus's times. John baptised many people most of which never fallowed Jesus. in fact Jesus never tells people to baptise each other.
@jehovahistheonlytrue Let me ask you this: Do you believe God is powerful enough to instantly snap the chains of alcoholsm and tobbaco addiction? When I became a Christian God took my desire to smoke away straight away. There were not even any withdrawl symptoms - nothing. As for the marriage question I have also heard of people who instantly move out/stop sleeping around. So the answer to your question is yes, if someone is clearly repentant and expressing faith then why not? It's biblical.
There is a member of our circle who grew up in the JWs and was very active until she became a young adult. She subsequently left the JW. Now she feels that she wants to be un-baptized before she can move on. Do you think this is necessary or even possible? If it so, how would one go about being un-baptized?
@DancingRabbit52 I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as de-baptisms. Some atheists are on YouTube attempting to do this though (from any Christian based religion that has some kind of baptism) by mockingly using a hairdryer.
@Shazoolo Yeah, I've seen the hairdrier thing. Kind of a poor quality joke I guess. I agree that there really isn't a real de-baptizing ritual. That's why I was kind of puzzled when one of our members asked for one. Perhaps a ritual renunciation of her past path with the JW's and a dedication to the new would work. Their hold over her was prettty deep and emotional and I think she just wants something equally as emotional to signal a break with them.
@DancingRabbit52 -- You are un-baptized during the public disfellowshipping announcement made to the congregation - "[name of person] is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses" ---- see page 152 of the "Organized to do Jehovah's Will" book. This announcement reverses the vow you made to them. -- think about it.
@DancingRabbit52 She only needs to be a True Follower of Jesus Christ, has repented, and be Water Baptized. I would do Full Immersion. Not a requirement, but I feel this what the text spells out. Baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In Jesus Christ. Once she is a True Follower of Christ, all that is former is washed away, she will be made anew in Christ.
@DancingRabbit52 cont'd Not saying Baptism has anything to do with regeneration, only a following, an obedience to Christ. An identification, a picture. From what is inside shown outside and identifying also with the body of Christ, the Church.
Great vid Shaz! Studying to "become a Christian" is certainly unbiblical. If a person is ready to give up their sinful life for Christ, they should get baptized right away. And NO MAN should judge when you are ready to enter God's kingdom.
I don`t see this so different than other Christian practices in regards to baptism. Some churches you have to go through & pass a baptism class before being baptized. You CAN`T be baptized right away. Others, the parents just decide for their child or even a BABY. I know a Luthern pastor`s wife who just goes & pressures anyone in the church to get baptized regardless of whether they believe or not. And she strongly defends this believing through baptism one can be saved. It`s the 1st step.
@The1hope4all Yes, those 3k converts were true Christians. They were also proselyte & natural Jews who knew the scriptures & were expecting the Messiah 2 come. The eunuch was reading from Isaiah when Phillip got 2 him. Did Phillip not ask him if he knew what he was reading in the scriptures? R u referring 2 the jailer that was going to kill himself because he thought Paul & the others took off from the prison after the earthquake struck? Then Paul called out 2 let him know they didn't run out.
Well said Shazoolo, well said. They of course defend the this practice vehemently and will call you all sorts of names for questioning their reasoning.
@Templehatchet They didn't finish the questions with me (80? no wonder I was so damn nervous at trying to memorize answers!) because I told the sister I was studying with I didn't like going out in service. Well, I didn't! :)
@hilldiggity Banging on doors for no money of people that have their own beliefs or do not give two shits is not fun. I knew the answers to the questions but in the long run had doubts when they could not answer mine. I hear you. There is a lot of preasure to submit to the cult. I think the elders after passing you on the WT test questions get the sense of self worth no matter how miss guided. Brownie points are important.
@Fil0girl Yes, we do get baptized in the name of the Father, Jehovah & in Jesus' name & in the name of the Holy Spirit.
Mayb it's more relevant 2 focus on the fact the ppl R 2 get baptized in the name of the Father. That being the case, how do u think Jehovah, Father, feels about ppl referring 2 him as LORD? LORD isn't his name is it? No? Then how could ppl possibly B getting a real baptism if they're not even using Jehovah's name 2 baptize their followers who don't know God's name?
many publishers of the JW Org. get baptized at a very young age, which is fine because this shows their love for God. But they have no knowledge that they aren't being properly baptized according to scripture as mentioned in this video. Thing is, they think they are being taught properly after going through the baptism questions! Then when asked the two Vital baptism questions before their actual baptism, they shout out the answer "YES" to both questions without even thinking. Sealed contract!
@Fil0girl The problem is that in trying to get rid of Catechism he has essentially condemned the entire history of Christianity. Catechism has been the standard model of allowing members into the church after the apostles, their successors.
Oh how horrible an action!!!!!! Just think of it, ppl would have 2 know what they're saying "yes" 2 b4 saying yes 2 it! No JW is going to say that God doesn't have a problem w/homosexuality or divorce of 1's spouse away from adultery.
How many of those "instant Christians" do you believe actually stay faithful to Jesus as they barely know him? They aren't true believers in Christ on any level. Knowledge of the Scriptures is important. 2Tim3:15,16 John 17:3
@MALACHAI39 here's the most obvious thing that is unbiblical: Jesus specifically commanded a formula for baptism: "in the name of the father, and the son, and the holy spirit." You do not use that formula. Therefore, your baptism is unbiblical.
@MALACHAI39 Do you believe that not one single person of the 3 thousand, who were converted and baptised on the day of Pentecost, were proper Christians? Was the Phillipan jailer, who was converted and baptised within half a day, not a proper Christian? The Ethiopian Eunuch also? Are you standing in judgement over the way that Jehovah works in calling people to repentance and faith in him? Do you feel that Jehovah needs you advice and correction? Would that be humble and sheeplike?
@ukchristian28 Yeah, it seems pretty common these days. However, as I state in the video, difference is that if a Christian came to faith today, and wanted to get baptized tomorrow, they could do so simpy by gathering a few believers together and going to the beach. This does happen and some Christians even feel the need to do it quickly. It is the biblical pattern too. JWs, however, have to wait. No question about it.
@Shazoolo I don't have a problem with a small amount of instruction before baptism, nor do I take issue with having to give ones testimony either. I think the important difference here is that the test isn't faith in christ and an understanding of what one is doing by getting baptised, but the necessity of agreeing with the church on everything.
@praiselordgrace He is saying that Jehovah's Witness baptism is unbiblical for three primary reasons: first, a Witness has to wait a long time to get baptised and prove he has absorbed a large amount of information. Second, the baptism is not into Christ, but into the Witness organization. This is clearly not just unbiblical, but ANTI-biblical. Third, Witnesses put a lot of faith in the ceremony, which must include swearing allegiance, not to Jesus but to the Organization.
80 questions??? My God, that's insane! So, you have to admit to every little detail of their faith? Seems like the Gestapo to me. I talked to a JW friend of mine and I brought up a similar point, but he said that it is all lies. But it seems like you are correct, all their other deeds point to these Gestapo practices.
at first i found you to be very interesting and subscribed, though i am atheist, but now you are judging people on how they practice their religion. I'm sorry but i cannot tolerate that, i wish you well in your endeavors, good day.
@AkatsukiClay Not judging. It is pointing out truth verse error. In fact the JWs themselves do this all the time every day when thousands go door to door pointing out to other church goers where they feel they have gone wrong. JWs often tell other Christian groups that their belief in the Trinity is a lie, Jesus isn't God, and that their churches are pretty much of the Devil and part of Babylon the Great, the great Whore of Babylon. Are they judging too?
@matrixlone why would you have me look at that when i have clearly stated i am an atheist. please take note that i am not saying the christian religion is wrong in any way i am merely saying that i do not believe in it and what mr. shazoolo is saying is that JWs are wrong in there practices, it's what they believe to be right it should not matter to him
@AkatsukiClay i understand but it is very important that you confess jesus christ is the son of god im pretty sure other religions deny that and thats why its very important no offense but its just a serious issue
@matrixlone there are two things wrong with your statement, you telling me what i should believe and that other religions MUST think the way you do. I'm sorry but that's not how this works, furthermore, you wonder why people give christians a hard time it's because of people like you who go and tell people that their way of thinking is wrong.
@AkatsukiClay look am i forcing you to do anything and everyone shits on the real gospel so yes its alittle bit about truth to me dont get offended but i always have other people telling me otherwise trying to decieve me with false doctrines alright thats all im saying you either stand for something or you dont mkay and the fact is they take what they want from the bible and form a different belief to begin with okay
@AkatsukiClay right but you cant say that it dosent effect me at all because that is not true in a sense that i end up having to defend what i believe because i have family that are jw so please dont act like i dont know what im saying mkay

lest ye be baptised.. baptism IS Biblical..
Dewdaahman 8 months ago
Oh how horrible an action!!!!!! Just think of it, ppl would have 2 know what they're saying "yes" 2 b4 saying yes 2 it! No JW is going to say that God doesn't have a problem w/homosexuality or divorce of 1's spouse away from adultery.
How many of those "instant Christians" do you believe actually stay faithful to Jesus as they barely know him? They aren't true believers in Christ on any level. Knowledge of the Scriptures is important. 2Tim3:15,16 John 17:3
Nothing's unbiblical w/our baptisms.
MALACHAI39 8 months ago

Very good video. The point about churches making people wait is valid though. My church back home put me on baptism course before I was baptised.
ukchristian28 8 months ago
@ukchristian28 Yeah, it seems pretty common these days. However, as I state in the video, difference is that if a Christian came to faith today, and wanted to get baptized tomorrow, they could do so simpy by gathering a few believers together and going to the beach. This does happen and some Christians even feel the need to do it quickly. It is the biblical pattern too. JWs, however, have to wait. No question about it.
Shazoolo 8 months ago
@Shazoolo I don't have a problem with a small amount of instruction before baptism, nor do I take issue with having to give ones testimony either. I think the important difference here is that the test isn't faith in christ and an understanding of what one is doing by getting baptised, but the necessity of agreeing with the church on everything.

@praiselordgrace What, you are not the we all?
The1hope4all 8 months ago
@praiselordgrace He is saying that Jehovah's Witness baptism is unbiblical for three primary reasons: first, a Witness has to wait a long time to get baptised and prove he has absorbed a large amount of information. Second, the baptism is not into Christ, but into the Witness organization. This is clearly not just unbiblical, but ANTI-biblical. Third, Witnesses put a lot of faith in the ceremony, which must include swearing allegiance, not to Jesus but to the Organization.

@Fil0girl, thanks!

AkatsukiClay 8 months ago
@AkatsukiClay Not judging. It is pointing out truth verse error. In fact the JWs themselves do this all the time every day when thousands go door to door pointing out to other church goers where they feel they have gone wrong. JWs often tell other Christian groups that their belief in the Trinity is a lie, Jesus isn't God, and that their churches are pretty much of the Devil and part of Babylon the Great, the great Whore of Babylon. Are they judging too?

@AkatsukiClay you can chek my playlist too if your interested
matrixlone 8 months ago
@matrixlone why would you have me look at that when i have clearly stated i am an atheist. please take note that i am not saying the christian religion is wrong in any way i am merely saying that i do not believe in it and what mr. shazoolo is saying is that JWs are wrong in there practices, it's what they believe to be right it should not matter to him
AkatsukiClay 8 months ago
@AkatsukiClay i understand but it is very important that you confess jesus christ is the son of god im pretty sure other religions deny that and thats why its very important no offense but its just a serious issue
matrixlone 8 months ago
@matrixlone there are two things wrong with your statement, you telling me what i should believe and that other religions MUST think the way you do. I'm sorry but that's not how this works, furthermore, you wonder why people give christians a hard time it's because of people like you who go and tell people that their way of thinking is wrong.
AkatsukiClay 8 months ago
@AkatsukiClay look am i forcing you to do anything and everyone shits on the real gospel so yes its alittle bit about truth to me dont get offended but i always have other people telling me otherwise trying to decieve me with false doctrines alright thats all im saying you either stand for something or you dont mkay and the fact is they take what they want from the bible and form a different belief to begin with okay
matrixlone 8 months ago
@matrixlone Right and that's there choice does that effect you at all? i don't think so.
AkatsukiClay 8 months ago
@AkatsukiClay right but you cant say that it dosent effect me at all because that is not true in a sense that i end up having to defend what i believe because i have family that are jw so please dont act like i dont know what im saying mkay
