I am going to get a monofin for my dophin kick soon. But I think I am going to get a lot of attention for I wont be able to stop swimming fast :P There is a clip where the swimmer can shoot up and jump back to the water too.

hehe nice job! i got a wave monofin a few weeks ago and every time i try to hold my arms straight out like u did while swimming, i sorta roll and flop around in the water.^.^,its easier for me to swim with my arms at my sides.the place where i go swimming is my neighborhood pool tho it isnt that deep:( anyway, keep up the good monofinning!:)

I prefer swimming with my arms at my side, it feels too strange to swim with them in front of me.

@Myhopeisinhim swimming with your arms in front reduces water resistance, it's called streamlining. You can get better at it by doing stretches. Arms at side is perfectly fine, in fact, the best to do when you are surfacing.

I am by no means a monofin expert, but I bet if you got some neoprene socks meant for use with monofins and bi-fins, they would make your monofin fit your feet more snugly.

There are different types of monofin, but for freediving/finswimming, i recommend the Finis Competitor monofins (the one shown here).

It is the fastest, most energy conservative, and largest. Or if you are just starting with monofins, The Finis Rapid (black).

I might go with this one, except for the fact that I've been swimming this style as long as I can remember, even though I just found out about mono-fins yesterday! Strange right? When my mom showed me a news report on monofins I was extremely surprised to find they swam the same way I do (except I use my hands because without a fin I'm slow).This style of swimming comes naturally to me, so would I do okay with a Finis Competitor monofin?

However, just remember they are about £300, and there is not many places you can use it..... but whatever, remember you get what you pay for! :D
