  • a high spec machines is capapble of these effectts without the need for this physx crap! what bullshit.

  • So...

All I'd be getting in this stupid game would be paper on the floor, smoke... And... That's about it.

I'd rather play on Radeon then spend the extra money.

  • Seems more like a gimmick rather than a worthwhile addition.

  • @Th3GoldenGam3r Nevermind,saw the smoke and steam.Blew my mind.

  • Sure are exaggerating what you can or cannot do with or without PhysX... like ultraneonoirnatihero stated, most of these effects could be accomplished without, to an extent. Maybe not fully reactive to meshes and movable objects, but it's still possible. Wavering cloth or illusions with just particles could've been accomplished for people who had it turned off or couldn't use it. Just marketing this, really.

  • Lol. WE'RE JUST NOT GONNA SHOW HALF OF THE GAME IF YOU TURN IT OFF...

  • Does consoles support physX ?

  • @Dharma818 Not quite. The Xbox 360 has an ATI GPU which doesn't support it at all, and while the PS3 does have an nVidia GPU, it's an NV47 which is too old to support PhysX. Having said that though, nVidia have licensed PhysX to Sony for use on the PS3, but it will be running on the CPU only (cell SPU's to be specific). To be honest most other physics libraries are capable of running on console CPU's so this isn't really noteworthy... For physics, PS3 > 360. For graphics, 360 > PS3.

  • Looks good. Shame it's strictly PC and can't be potted for console, although I will say sometimes it feels like a distraction rather then an immersion

  • Steam, chipped tiles, flying blocks, falling books... most of these things didn't need PhysX in games before, but now they do - just to buy new GPU. It looks good, but it's been done before without PhysX and better incorporated.

  • @ultraneonoirnatihero That's marketing for ya. =)

  • dynamic toilet paper FTW!!

  • Havok, re-code your physics engine with openCL

Then we can all be happy and get rid of the monopoly nvidia has. I'm not anti nvidia, I just think that a cross platform physics engine would be better. The havok physics engine is equally capable, it's just CPU bound so you can't do as much with it. Make it run on a GPU and it would do anything PhysX can do.

  • When Arkham City comes out for the PC, will you please do a video of it? Please?

  • @pinoyboy579 Yes, of course :)

  • @Zogrim now do it please... :)

  • lol at the two top comments

  • I've been lucky. I recently just bought a GTX 570, and im putting my former GTS 250 I had before as a dedicated physx card. I'm re-installing the game now, I can't wait to see the difference

  • @xavier6393

With a GTX 570 you don't need a dedicated Physx card. It'll easily do 60fps with full Physx on its own.

  • @cildni Yeah it will. but with my 2x 570 I struggle when I reach the scarecrow scene with all the debris

  • @cildni Yea I realized that once I found out that despite having a dedicated physx card (gts 250) I got the same results on Batman's benchmark with and without.

  • I have an AMD Radeon HD 6970 and a 9500 gt for Physx and its awesome! ;)

  • Holy PhysX Batman!

  • 37 people have ATI RADEON

  • Comment removed

  • give me your graphics card

  • lol! i like the music from the dark knight!

  • wow perimeter music xD nice

  • You know ATI cards can do this with a cheap 8800 Card

  • @keiluko ye but u need to buy a nvidia card. Without it there's no way xD

  • @keiluko From what i've heard, a 8800 to physx only can bottleneck your system if you have a high-end ati card.

  • 35 people have AMD card.......and it can be seen on the dislike bar perfectly

  • DAMNIT! I bought AMD...

  • Fuck ATI RADEON

  • If I was Batman, I'd fuck Harley Quinn.

  • even without physx batman AA is a great game !

  • So...from what I'm seeing is that physx just adds a bunch of new graphical elements?

doesn't make me want to buy a machine capable of physx...

  • Could do all this with Havok or other physics engines. Designers had some special deal with nVidia? Gamers should not support vendor specific solutions.

  • Did anyone else poo themselves when Scarecrow popped up?!

  • so addicted to challenge mode!

  • with physx lost all designers work.

  • changes are massive... thats all. 33 console fags

  • With Physx on, the game crashes after the first scarecrow encounter, when I am trying to open the door :(

  • after seeing "dynamic toilet paper"... im buying this game again for PC!

  • nvidia rocks

  • In my opinion its just a sweet extra... nothing important though, trust me... you can FULL enjoy this brilliant game on consoles too!

  • ME VENGO XD

  • Lol.

-punches bad guy in lower back-

-bad guy grabs head and falls-

  • just got this game on the Steam sale. Where do I turn on Physx at?

  • @soulassssns The flash window on startup, before you launch the game, go into the options menu.

  • go to ps3

  • Some of it looks a bit over the top (the over-use of fog and the 'easy tear' mattress) but, if used discretely, it could make AA that extra bit more awesome!

  • what the fuck are those mattresses made of paper?

  • theres only one problem with physX and that is that its not profound enough. im one of the biggest physX fans out there and spend all my hours looking for demos or merely pissing around in game with physX entities and whatnot. but look at 90% of these scenes, physx is only being used for like 3 sheets of paper or smashing up tiles. why not have a room covered in paper and have it so that the floor itself can literally be torn up and metal be dented. its fully capable- so why not?

  • @nevasoft2k7 One of the main things I look for in games is PhysX.

  • @nevasoft2k7 Yes! i love physx it is one of the best things ever! i really cant wait to see what they've done to Arkham city! I totally want to see that

  • @nevasoft2k7 Looks pretty significant to me as far as setting the mood goes. If you're looking for "profound" changes on what's essentially a PC version of a console game, you're setting your hopes too high. They already pretty much knew this game was going to kill, so they had no reason to mess with the formula other than to improve the graphics a little.

  • @nevasoft2k7 because most systems cant handle it

  • @guzarche3 They can turn off physx, then.

  • @maikson2 no point in making something only a handfull of people will xp

  • @guzarche3 You have a point. My system probably can't handle something like this, but they could add this like some kind of extra to people with great gaming rigs.

  • Well, if the game is heavily dependant on PhysX, then only Nvidia users would be able to play it. I guess we wont see these kind of effects like smashing entire walls until AMD comes up with a similar technology for physics calculations

  • @nevasoft2k7 everything is possible, the thing is that physX takes alot of ram when these things is ON around 40 % more power. they are working on making it looks as good as possible but still make sure computers can run it.

  • @nevasoft2k7 everytime you walk over a paper and it goes away the computer is counting it. its not so simple

  • @nevasoft2k7

    Consoles.

  • @nevasoft2k7 Because youd need tesselation

  • @nevasoft2k7 Same here!!

  • @SincereCreature its damn good to hear people love physx ^^ im taking a gaming course at college so im just hoping to end up making a game in the future and cramming tonnns of physxness in it lol

  • @nevasoft2k7 Wow! That was a pleasure to "hear" lol Good luck! :D

  • @nevasoft2k7 cause nvidea can't pay all devs when there is havok and other better engines, physX is only good with soft materials, but they are all cosmetic. And what's the point if ati has almost other half of users, and they can't contribute to nVidea only physX.Better do factial animations or other cool things.

  • Comment removed

  • @nevasoft2k7 well, you figure having those 3 pieces of paper cause 10+fps loss imagine how hard it would be to simulate that much. i mean, with physx off i can get full 1080p max setting on my pc at aruond 80+fps, whereas physx drags it down to the 25-40

  • yet, another physx that shows Sparkles, yet infamous1 and 2 have huge amount of sparkles effects with dynamid phisics on it all over the place. ,Maybe FF13VERSUS will have Apex . for now...Please show us what kind of goodies L.A noire with have =D

  • the dark knight music

  • WTF !?

why i didn't have physix on this game ? how can i chage that ?

  • Wow... You never know what you're actually missing out on when you play the console version until you see a comparison. Sadly, I do not have an Nvidia card, though I'm not in a hurry to get one since I don't do much PC gaming.

  • 32 people are jealous coz they dont have an nvidia card for physx (sorry for my bad english)

  • Can I plug in my Casio calculator for the PhysX?

  • While it looks amazing... why are we considering a matress as tearable cloth? XD

  • how can i turn it on on the PC?i mean i already finished the story and riddler's chalange but i can't find where to turn it on?off

  • @ssssssssssssssssss50 there is apatch that adds this feature to the game. also it should be in the options. Just make sure you have a good graphics card capable of running physx. Dont be impressed if you playing seeing s slideshow with your G210 xDD

  • "stupid boiler" XD

  • 3:12

Batman is so awesome, he knocks a bad guy out by punching him in the ass.

  • Comment removed

  • EVERY GAME shud have physx but den ati wud b in the dark lol.i love nvidia tho.

  • @TheGeforcefan Do you really think they need physx to render smog lol? It's all about marketing. There are plenty of articles online about havok and physx. Educate yourself

  • 32 personas usan Ati

  • Is this a joke? Oh no I can't see 100 blocks across the ground :( oh no! Who gives a fuck. Everything is the SAME other than oh no I can't see 500 bricks flying around. Who cares. Who fucking CARES

  • @VigonSaze console user? therefore you see no blocks

  • ermmm I get fog etc without PhysX on.

  • Comment removed

  • Why switch? I run a 6990 with a 9800GTX+ in a hybrid PhysX setup, and I can maxed out everything settings including PhysX on high with no problem

  • after seeing this I'm switching from ati to nvidia!

  • Is this self installed or just a game setting? I'm a new gamer

  • The only thing that bother me about this is that the cloth could be done on an xbox (Splinter Cell Conviction) and even a PS2 (Splinter Cell), theres no doubt a mid range PC could do it without an Nvidia GPU

  • @JuniorProducer1996

Pre-animated cloth can be done on just about any system. Dynamically simulated and tearable cloth can not, because all vertices must be simulated every frame. This is very taxing on a CPU, while a GPU with its hundreds of cores can deliver the parallel processing goodness.

  • @cildni

I know tearable cloth is a serious challenge, but dynamic cloth that can move around isnt, depending on the amount of subdivisions

  • @JuniorProducer1996

That's true, but if the cloth has too few polygons, its movement will look very "edgy". In order for there to be proper folds, you need a certain amount of polygonal detail. I don't believe any non-Physx game has done simulated cloth.

  • @cildni

Or at least completely realistic cloth, but they could at least make an effort. we still cant make perfect circles in games, but they still put tires on cars. If they just put a few dynamic cloth things around the game world, I could shut up and get on with my so called life

  • So good video and so slow buffer time. Thanks a lot youtube

  • excellent video. you earned my thumbs up.

PHYSX fucking owns. PC RULEZ. Consoles are for 12 y/o garbage kids who still suck on their momma's tits.

  • @BIGDADDYF50 Can't afford a console? I bet that's your moms PC your using.

  • I think it's just me, I don't like the way cloth moves when it's on the floor. Rest of physx is amazing.

  • Seems like they could have put those things in easily, but decided to throw it in because they had to use physX or something.. Fishy

  • Humph... pay R$ 400 more here in Brazil for put some more blocks and smokes/steam doesn't worth. But the video is good

  • too much fog and smoke seem to scare me...

  • 8:30 spider man was here

  • I now noticed that maybe the PhysX settings aren't on high in my game because I can't break floor tiles and wall tiles in my game, even though the menu shows up as "high" but I keep getting the error saying my card doesn't support hardware-accelerated PhysX.

  • I really don't like PhysX much (and I have a Nvidia gpu), all of this stuff can be easily done on a modern day cpu

  • @TheColorfulPube no it cant! the architecture of the gpu is totaly different compared to a cpu, a gpu can calculate that stuff like 50 times faster than a cpu! trust me, its goood ;D

  • WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!

  • I am rather shocked by how poorly this game works with out having hardware accelerated physics.

Why get rid of the objects entirely when there is no hardware physics support? what is wrong with having the player walk through the cobwebs, leaving them as just static objects that are not collided with? I accept the generally a card that does not have hardware physics will tend to be low power as well, but transparency is a standard feature for GPUs.

  • @thecoshman Which card do you have? all Nvidia cards from the 8 series and up have hardware-accelerated PhysX built in by default.

  • @MoonOvIce erm... think you missed my point there mate.

  • This is far better than Mafia 2's PhysX implementation. In that game, the difference is neglegible.

  • its good thing i got a gts or else i would have to play without the falling rocks or the badass kickable toilet paper

  • @TheWorldIsYoursxxX You got a GTS 250? me too, I get that stupid message that says my card doesn't support hardware-accelerated physx but it obviously does, as I ran the game with Physx on high and it ran fine and the physx actually work...I only have the 512mb version for now but will upgrade very soon...

  • @MoonOvIce i have a gts 450 1 gb

  • Batham Arkham City will be better PhysX . :D

  • fucking hell, that looks realistic! :D

  • Are the PhysX off on consoles??

  • @Screep55 It's quite simple.. consoles are old, and therefore almost every PC game has to be tuned down for the consoles.. physX is NOT possible for consoles without a massive fps drop.

  • @Screep55 there is no physx for consoles at all! :p

  • @anderas man this sucks ):

  • @Screep55 yes, pc only

  • does someone know where can I find a Crack and keygen for this:(? I looked evyrewhere...

  • @LostShadow901

Just fucking go and bye the game kid. or you doesnt have 10 bugs?

  • @MaRdErN kid,in your country its worth ten bucks,in mine is different because u have other earnings,so If I would have ten bucks like u say i would buy it!

  • @LostShadow901

Chill out kid.... how expensive is the game in your country? is belgium a 3th world land? no!? then just import the game from play.com for 6,50 euros and be happy, if you are to dump to use google for finding a crack...

  • @MaRdErN you are smart,I see you can use google very well but you can't read corectly. to dumm to search for crack? if you think a normal person could in times like these not use google to look for it,who is dummy? Think clear,Dude,I come from what? Damn, you are still a child pretending to be a more adult then U think U are. If I can,I will buy,If I can't I won't. I would like to,but its my desicion, judging someone in this case is a fucking funny thing you know?

  • @LostShadow901

You asked for a crack or didnt you? so for me you are to dump to use google.. and dont be naive, "normal" person still cant use google. many need 10min or Hours to find what they are searching for(read you first post again!). But if you know how it works, it will take less then 10sec. You have Internet, you think you have a PC rig(min.250$) to run this game, but you didn't have 5 -10$ for a game?

  • @LostShadow901

its hard to believe but ok i believe you. i dont know you so i cant judge you, sorry for that but for the future to avoid this, learn to search for yourself or go to a pirate forum and ask them for help. peace and chill out...

  • they should have the spider web in SKYRIM

  • LOL!!!! BLOCK PAPER ON 6:03!! O.O

  • looks good, but playing Batman:AA on a PC? lol no thanks.

  • @minxamo ever head of controller? :D

  • @fredhell13 i think you need to rephrase that.

  • @minxamo look like a cod player who say fps on consoles are better. alway make me laugh

  • @minxamo Why wouldn't anyone want to play Batman: AA on PC? It's a great PC game with PhysX. Also you can get a much higher resolution/frame-rate on PC compared to 720p/30fps on Consoles.

  • @KrazyK1289 That and for people who don't like using mouse and keyboard for this game (which is highly recommended and better, I also played the console versions) you can still use a gamepad for this game without any issues, and an Xbox 360 controller no less!

  • thats awsome

  • Very realistc wet paper flying =P

  • музыка из периметра люто порадовала!

  • @DeltaDesignRus O.O? Translate please.

  • @Eduardogd2 The music in this video from a game "Perimeter"

  • I have SLI setup, the best parts are the Sacrecrow section, it really add to the atmosphere, without it, it sucks. But that one of the only game that actually use the technology so..

  • What's the point? Everyone played this game in detective mode all the way through anyway...

  • @Matat

    haha, sad but true :P

I played it without physix, because some of the effects are really ridiculous (the floor is breaking even if you step on it, FOG EVERYWHERE).

  • could not figure out the specs of pc running this can u post them ?

  • no iam not going to buy an nvidia card only for physx (fingers crossed)

  • Will physx be incorporated in batman: arkham city?

  • @gagetmorris of course dude!!!

  • Annoying thing, most of that stuff could have been implemented, even if it had to be faked, without the need for it to be full physically simulated. I mean, you can't hardly tell the steam and fog is doing anything other than a sprite based approach on PS2 couldn't handle. There's no need for there to be physics applied to most of that stuff.

  • Now I realize it looks like shit on Xbox 360... ¬¬

  • epic. its shit like this that brings keeps technology evolving. xbox and ps33 are frozen in time XD

  • @staplerjm não levaram o ps3 ao limite, ainda.

  • @staplerjm ps3 uses nvidia, so im pretty sure it has physx

  • @yeehaw789 Nope

  • @yeehaw789 No, physix is pc only, no console can handle it, they where not made for it. It's like AA, not a console posibilty.

  • @DarkProject

There are console titles with Physx, just not insane amounts like this. There are also plenty of console games with AA, even Crysis 2 has it's own form of AA on consoles (though it's crap compared to the kind of AA the PC can do).

  • @randir14 Yeah i found out about it 5 days ago when watching a "making off" from an xbox game, turns out they can go up to 16X aa, with some tricks/ tho mostly its 4X which is more than enough.

  • @DarkProject I'm not sure you're correct on this one. Its not the "PC" that can handle it. Its the video card. Because no matter how much cash you invest in a PC, if all you're using is on board video you're not even touching PS2 quality.

Now if customers were willing to pay $1000 for a console, I have no doubt that it could do everything seen here, maybe even more.

  • @staplerjm The 360 keeps games from evolving. developers have to deal with 5 year old technology. If PC was still the dominant gaming platform games would be light years ahead.

  • @HDaviator

yeah and you'd probably have to upgrade your video card every 3 months just to run the game at 60fps at the minimum setting

  • @Iplay2win strange a my 470 runs every game max at 60 fps.. and a 5970 would also max any game and 60 fps.. strange...

  • @staplerjm thing with this is...on pc you have to worry about min spec. A min spec pc probably can't pull these effects with a good frame rate so these effects only improve the immersion and nothing else

Crysis was also held back a lot due to min specs especially the Ice areas

  • @staplerjm maybe... But they still manage to pull off some pretty awesome stuff that unfortunately probably won't be on PC anytime soon. I don't think you should say one platform is better than the other because each one brings a piece of the cake to the table. Yeah sure today's PCs are way more powerful than the consoles. But you still get really good looking and fun games on the latter.

  • @staplerjm you are frozen in time

  • @staplerjm i love my 360, but you're right, PC is just so damn amazing, especiall with my newly upgraded rig with the GTX 580!!!! it totally kicks ass

  • 3:15 the infamous ass punch... deadly to any enemy of the Bat Man.

  • The rag dolls remind me of the Battlefield 2 ones, the really early stuff before they became very prevalent in gaming today. Super jiggly and extremely loose. Hilarious, nothing wrong with them though.

  • Man, I played this on console when I had a computer perfectly capable of handling this game. I really missed out on some great atmosphere.

  • omg this make ps3 and xbox 360 look like shit lol

  • How about you give us realistic fighting physics with all that GPU power, instead of dynamic paper.

  • isn't there any way on amd
