Don't they use rack and pinion? If so its very easy to change it just get a JDM rack an pinion out of a large v8 car the rest is fabrication. or just look one up on google

This car is great, I sat in the real KITT back in 1985 and this is pretty much exactly what it looked like (except driver seat was on left side of course).

But there is one question that I want to know, since it is RHD, is the placement of everything simply mirrored, or is it setup in a different way?

the whole project must have set you back a few bob mate great job on the car. With technology advancing you may be able to up date some of stuff on it esp rig up a lap top or similar to

answer types of questions using voice recognition etc

I was recording the TV for a reason. My mate sent me that KITT Tribute Video that was playing so I said I would show it to him in a KITT replica. Besides I made other videos of the outside of the car.

I actually should also mention the reason why I didn't have the best still hand is I was leaning in the window to try and get a good shot of the screen + the camera I was using wasn't a camcorder its the Canon IXUS 65. Brilliant Camera, not so easy to hold steady. I will be getting a HD camera soon so vids will look much better in a short while.

I guess everyone wants the most accurate KITT to the show. KITT is quite custom wouldn't you think? :) The rims on these are very rare so its worth getting them over chrome ones or other rims.

those are stock pontiac firebird rims.i love kiit too and ur right it IS quite customised.i guess i just have a different vision of how i would set mine up.might win at car shows just not at knight rider shows i guess

Unfortunately, it's because by law in Australia, they don't allow the inportation of left-hand drive vehicles into their country; otherwise, it would be yet another well made replica.

That's not correct. We do allow LHD cars into Australia, but only LHD cars that are older than 30 years can be fully registered.

If they are younger than 30 years, LHD cars can only have club permit registration and only be driven during club events, not when you want.

If you want to drive it when you want (and less than 30 years) it has to be converted to RHD.
