@31jclo EXACTLY! Jesus! The petty bickering is so old now. The fact of the matter is that all the trucks are so damn close with built in capability that any competition will come down to driver or other minute variables like operating weight at the time or the owner's tire choice. Plus, most drivers suck anyways so they will never get the full capability out of whatever they drive anyways.
i also had a duramax and after pulling with that truck i was a fan of the engine but the allison trans i am not a fan of, after i reached 150k that trans took a major shit and need overhauled, i have seen it on countless other allisons as well, cummins fucked up big time getting rid of the 5.9 and making this joke they call a engine now
i have pulled loads with the new 6.7 cummins and it falls right on its ass, it does not hold the weight like the ford does, i own both a cummins 6.7 and a ford 6.7, the ford will out perform the cummins hands down, as for trans issues the dodge trans is just a beefed up caravan trans, it heats up fast and slips like crazy, the torqe shift has proven its self the be a worthy trans.
Cawb1994.......I've owned all three in ton series and they all are WONDERFUL TRUCKS ......it's mainly about body style and usually what your family drives ..!!!!!!!
That's why Ford only has a 60k warranty, and dodge has 100k, looks like dodge planes to go farther! I work for a company that only buys Fords, I know how long they go for. At 100k they are done, we action them for cheap. We have sent in over 32 F-250's back to ford with just over 3k miles do to transmission failure, so what was it you had said about dodge?
Didn't show the Ford losing. And for Does Not Own any part of Cummins. They own just a little bit of stock years ago, since then Cummins bought it all back. They know that dodge is a better truck to handle a motor like Cummins!
@Prodecessor981 yeah the engine will make it to 500,000 miles and higher easily. Cummins is a great engine. But the truck itself isnt. Dodge doesnt own cummins or even make cummins. Cummins is a good motor but dodges arent good trucks. They rust quickly and their transmissions are terrible.
@DTownReviews i know that dodge doesnt own cummins im not a dimwit dodge has fixed there trannys dads 6.7 07 with 200k kms went to topeka which im not sure how far from northern alberta is but im guessing its pretty far and it had no problems.. and it was hauling atleast 40k lbs + all the way (i think a 40ft trailer and 2 trucks on it)
@Prodecessor981 My dad used to use dodge but he switched to ford. He was having tranny problems at 80-90k.. rediculous. And my half brothers dad used to use dodges for landscaping but they were rusting out in 3 seasons because he plowed and salted in the winter. Hes now on fords too. This wasnt long ago either. Only problem my brothers had with his 350 7.3l is that it was shakin real bad at 35mph and it was just a broken rear spring.
@DTownReviews well if your going to salt you should use a proper truck.. and even then any metal exposed to salt/water will rust and depends what year it wasfor your tranny probs at 90k
@Prodecessor981 a proper truck is a dually pickup? And the ford he has now doesnt have any rust at all and its like an 05.. he bought it used and been using it for 4 seasons salting and plowing and still goes like a champ. As for the tranny with 90K miles it was a 2004. At 90K miles it needed a new tranny. My dad just sold the truck with the shot one and bought the truck he has now. A ford.
@alfredo2140 clearly we have a biased opinion here. Also you must be retarded. The new lml duramax pushes out 765ft lbs of torque. The Duramax will get the job done. I will admit the front end on any HD GMC is a piece of shit and wouldn't hold up but anything subject to that hard of work will break eventually anyway
@LValvoline Very true, the tie rods are too thin and don't like hard pulls in 4WD. However, that said, lots of companies make tie rod sleeves that cure the problem. In my area most plow trucks are GM. I have known lots of fords and dodges with front end problems, but ironically, no GM. So the "IFS is weak" argument doesn't really hold up and the weak link on ALL of them is ball joints before anything else.
I like how all these people say ford is so bad ass when if we put a cummins in a f-250 and they didn't know they would still be like that ford is so bad ass just because of the name and the body style.
@Dshot88 I like how dodge fans say dodge is so bad ass and the Cummins is so much better than the power stroke, but if Cummins decided they didn't want dodge using their diesel engines anymore then dodge would be screwed. At least Ford makes their own diesel engine.
@03Doo800PowderJunkie Okay. Im not talking about GM though. Im talking about how dodge really cant brag about "their" diesel engine because it is not actually theirs. Ford on the other hand can because they do make their own diesel engine.
@2008F6CATFAN really you sound very hypocritical there... up until 2010 or '11 ford didnt either .. they only recently brought there motors in house and ford used to use cummins too so shut it please?
@2008F6CATFAN 2 months isnt much to get you out of being a hypocrite and still cummins and international both (as an engine) cummins in more famous for there engines and your comment to jayce ford and dodge dont make there engines they get them shipped in
@4thstooge Yes. I understand that, but like i said, that was the past and this is the present. I think my point has been made in this overall discussion. Have a good one.
@2008F6CATFAN actully ford owns cummins, they bought it a while ago and the only reason they let dodge use them is because they can make more money that way.
If youve never owned a ford. Dont talk shit. Thats all i can say. I dont talk shit on chevy or dodge cuz ive never owned one. Simple as that. Anyone who says otherwise just needs to grow the fuck up.
them things would be way better with the 7.3 in it i have a 1990 with a 7.3 and the only thing iv'e had to do to the motor is change the glow plugs and oil cooler and thats all i can think of thats gone wrong with it in the 20yrs iv'e owned it and i also have a 2002 with the 7.3powerstroke and nothings gone wronge with that truck and i haul heavy stuff with both of those trucks.
The new Ford 6.7 psds don't have the power and fuel mileage Ford claims. My father has talked to guys that confirmed this.Looks like Jasper will be busy again, has over 70 upgrades for the new 6.7 psd.Found problems during teardowns on 6 of them. The 6 speed auto in them has problems left and right
@wafrederick Well the new 6.7 power stroke puts down more power to the wheels, than the duramax or "high-output" cummins, and what are these problems with the 6R140?
@CountryRebelx There are you tube videos on the transmisson problems. Can't out run the cummins.Try to get a place to buy a Ford with the powerstroke that hauls trailers for a living. You won't,they don't want the ford and find the ford unreliable. The Dodge duallies with the Cummins are used a lot.Diesel mechanics say the powerstrokes are the best thing to come out getting fixed a lot.
@wafrederick Your wrong, at the diesel shop here all we have are Cummin's with Auto's coming to get replaced. People around here do the 6.0 headgaskets and EGR delete before something goes wrong. They haven't been to the shop yet. So move along little boy.
@greendayrules11 My father has talked to diesel guys and all they work on are powerstrokes most of the time. There is even a shop and all they work on are Fords with powerstrokes.Only way to work on a Ford with a powerstroke is unbolt the cab and raise it with a hoist first. This is what most diesel repair shops do first after driving it in
@CountryRebelx hp or torque? because with hp cummins and international there both very equal but for torque cummins reaches max tourque much faster then the powerstroke and the chevy Dmax
@Pitcrew55 you see that's where you're wrong...it was designed by both GM and isuzu, but isuzu backed out like a year later. Now the duramax is made here.
@bbbsias4ever Cummins diesel is far better than Fords "Power"stroke, its nothing but a smoking hunk of shit! Worked on trucks for the last 3 years. Most we commonly seen in the shop- Dodge for its transmissions (Mid 90s), GM for its diffs, and front end problems (mid 90s-mid 00s), and Ford with the most (by a long shot) diesel and gas critical motors failures ("power"stroke and Triton). By the way, Ford sells the cheapest truck, so why are you calling a Dodge guy a cheap a#$?
@RansomCowboy i been a diesel mechanic for 38 years the dodge trans and the body falling apart and window moters door handles knobs door and window switches you want more ? the new ford power stroke it notting like the internatiol diesel motor much more reliable better even the the jap izusu gm diesel
@RansomCowboy ive had my 7.3L turbo diesel powerstroke for 10 years now and 239,000 miles later still nothing wrong with the motor runs like brand new my freinds dodge on the other hand no power what so ever with their 6 cylinder piece of shit and it broke down just 20,000 miles after he got it haha
@mrviz60 haha ford guy you say i drive anything i just like the fact that the 7.3 was the most reliable engine on the market and its proved me well 6 cylinder cummins and duramax just make me want to kill my self when i have to service the pieces of shit all day every day only a couple of fords a week haha "ford guy"haha
Ford realy realy suck !!! how long can the front suspension stand that wheels hopping.. as soon as you try to spin the front wheels.. this is all due to poor ingeneered geometrie.. I've seen so many Ford loosing and braking during sledpull just cause of that !!!
@Dopetruck123 I live in Kentucky dumb fuck. I just hate you rude ass cousin fucking rednecks. Use your gun like a pussy and blow someones brains out. A real man doesn't use a gun. I know for a fact some nice little "country boy" wouldn't be talking shit on YouTube. You're just another little hillbilly punk.
@Dopetruck123 I hate "Americans" like you. Fucking rude cunt. Go back to the trailer park. You are fucking garbage. Please reply to me sounding big and tough.
@Dopetruck123 You know you remind me of MCcain which his only two words are trucks and fuck. I see people voting for normal age president while the Americans vote for an old grandpa MCcain. man without the brittish you dont even know what technology is. All what the English do you copy, you dont have anything, without us Iran would have smashed you into pisses, without the brittish you dont know how to run your land. My advice is keep attacking pussy nations and keep sucking Israel dick. hah
This is what Motortrend should do to see who wins truck of the year. F450 vs Chevy/Dodge 3500 with these Cat's attached. Engage 4wd so we can watch the Chevy's tie rods fail so the buyers will realize whats good to whats shit.
@dagdagdag british experts=retards with cheesy degrees, american cars rape british and european automitve, i will never drive a british vehicle in my life, also do british auot makers even make a truck? no but japan does, id rather drive a toyota than a british piece of shit
@northerncustomsracin As usual american start talking shit, just like Hillary Clinton and Obama when they want to start attacking a country but do not have proof. Look you dom, dich, ass, shit dont compare your shit with our stuff. Range Rover can easily build a truck we dont do it because nobody uses that in Britton or Europe. The cars you build are shit and you are proofing it in your own fucking channels. Range Rover does not have a weaknes and is full with technology and luxury. USA=SHIT
@dagdagdag We don't expect foreign people to understand what american pride is. btw, you started talking shit first so why don't you get the cock out of your mouth and go jump on the bus.
@THECUJMANReCKz They can...the Allison Transmission puts the power to the wheels more efficiently than Ford's Torqshift does. At 397hp and 765ft lbs of torque, the LML Duramax smokes these Powerstrokes.
@THECUJMANReCKz shit chevy did this 40 years ago with a 6 cylinder half ton go watch older chevy videos its said it takes a ford one ton powerjunk to do the same as half ton chevy
youtube makes everyone go from 0 to expert in LOL seconds. ande not many of these so called experts will post a video of their supposed truck. wonder why?
@Hiei2k7 lol GM is a piece of shit. Just got rid of my 2010 Sierra , the plastic on the trim of the bed was peeling off, had to go into the shop soo often because of a constant issue with the brakes, poor quality at a low price...never again, I learned my lesson, should of stuck with ford. Now I got a 2011 F-250 sitting next to my wife's Lincoln mark Lt.
Wow.. rolling resistance, 100,000lbs my ass. It only takes a max of 5000lbs of force to get those things to move, and both those trucks had to really work to even move 5000lbs 25 feet. Not impressive
power stoke was international back in the 7.3 i believe then the contract came up and was never renewd those 7.3 tho run for freakin ever my dad has one with half a million on the odometer and hes a oil man so you know that truck does work
@dodge69874 No i have a powerstroke but the new chevy's r pretty tough no matter what anyone says. google the eisenhower challenge. Thats a good battle between ford and chevy.
Ford over any American made truck they were built to last my uncles 05 2500 cummins is already falling apart and HE BABIES IT never tows nothing the u joints are going out the a/c blows hotter on the passenger side than the drivers cabin light Control broke. If he used it for what it was made for then I wonder what else would break my 99 f250 v8 5 speed has little to nothing wrong with it other than I snapped my driveline pulling an expedition from Portland to Seattle just saying dodge sucks!
@iSLANDKiDD808 ok some facts about fords, they change the bolt patern back and forth metric to standard 7 lug to 8 lug the shop I work for has more fords come in than any other truck combined. the dodge comes in for upgrade only about 98% of the time. ford comes in to just get repaired to keep them running. I can't count how many head gaskets I have had to change on the ford and to do that you have to remove the cab. I could go on and on but you get it.
@serger2010 Alright ford has a little more engine problems but for dodge the engine is the BEST thing about it all the rest just falls apart they suck. an 05 dodge shouldn't be already falling apart my 99 has yet to give me problems i have 150,000 miles his has 84,000
@iSLANDKiDD808 dont worry 808 over here too and even though the 808 is toyota and nissan spammers im all ova the big blue oval myself and serger2010 personal experience with brands differ between people so what you may see others may not what you might think others may not and what i see 9 times out of ten is dodge trucks and chevy trucks going to scrap yards for parts for a broken down project they got but ford has always had a bad rap so it comes with the rep. Its all your preference
@serger2010 You see more Fords come in because there are more of them on the road. Don't forget that part ; ) A Ford will outlast a Dodge every time. Don't forget about the 80K mile auto transmissions Dodge puts in everything they make. I have seen more Dodge's with bad transmissions than any other make. People talk so highly about the cummins, but Dodge doesn't even make it...
@moparmurderer @serger2010 I know it's pretty sad that Dodge will not put good transmissions in their vehicles. My uncle's 2001 Ram 1500 with 211k miles is on it's 3rd one and their 2009 Charger with 55K had major issues with it last month, when on the other hand my grandpa's 1973 Ford F-100 and my dad's '78 F-100 and '85 F-150 4X4 with roughly 615K miles across the three pickups all original transmissions.
@zeal117 I know how you feel.. my dad has a 95 ram 1500 - 203k miles and on (at least) it's 3rd transmission. I say this in confidence, because the bad trans we pulled out had a reman. sticker on it, meaning that the original was replaced.
@1966v8mustang Just stay away from mopars with auto tranny's and you'll be fine ; ) Their manuals seem to be up to par, but the auto's just don't cut it.. Best all-around truck is still the Fords, hands down. Chevy's are too expensive, and quality seems to be going down the shitter with them as well.
@moparmurderer very true my buddy had a dodge with a 2500 with a manual trans in it and has no problem out of it he had the truck for about 4 yrs now. and dog the shit out of it...and yes chevy just aint what they use to be. there quality has it going down big time..i own a chevy truck that im wanted to make a play toy out of it but with the way thing are these day i dont see it happening at all pluse im trying to get my mustang done so i can drive this coming summer
@1966v8mustang The only issues I have heard about with their manuals is something about a bolt/nut coming loose with the 5th gear. I don't know how much truth there is to it, but I have heard it from a few reputable rebuilders, and have no reasons to question their judgement. Mopar's still squat like little girls when you hook 'em to trailers and they can't get 'em moving, or keep 'em moving.
@moparmurderer i have chevy 1500 dont pull anything but a small boat around in the summer time with it but the trans is starting to slip like a bitch when ya try to pull out/step down on it. so pretty sure im gonna see about getting ride of it. iv been wanting to get a diff truck anyway i change the trans filter and fluid and still same issue..been thinking about buying a ford powerstroke i looked at today...have u heard or know of any issue with the 05 powerstrokes it has 6.0l in it?
@1966v8mustang I have heard that the 6.0's are under powered for a diesel, but I do not have any personal experience with them. I like the old 7.3's, personally. If you feel like doing some research, a good site to check out is ford-trucks(dot)com.
@1966v8mustang - They have a lot of problems with the EGR cooler from everything I've heard, I hear they're good motors if you install the EGR delete kit though.
@moparmurderer Yeah, and until this year ford didn;t make the power stroke, and chevy doesn;t make the duramax. You also have to remeber that cummins motors are brutal on auto's. They make peak torque at 1800 rpm, which is crisng speed. So the trans is spending ans shifting all the time at the engine';s full power level. Even the precious allison 1000 has to eb modified to survice behind the cummins. But i do agree with one thing, i do like ford's trucks better, just not the enigne.
@caniwitech My 300-six cylinder in my f150 makes peak torque at the same RPM. If you're going to use a truck as it was meant to be used, then you're better off buying a Ford. If you're only going to cruise through town, to work, etc, then a dodge is fine. Chevy's are just overrated, in my opinion. They used to be great trucks, but no longer have that quality that used to back them. I guess if you're only going to work your truck like a truck for a year or two and trade it off they are fine.
@caniwitech All diesel trucks make peak torque between 1500-1800 rpm, and Ford & Chevy have 800 ft. -lb of Torque while current Ram's have 650. So does this mean Ram's will be busting Transmissions as they drive off the dealer lot with their new 800 ft. -lb diesels? lol
@malkowskitube If you look at a dno print out, you will easily see the difference in torque curve. And yes, dodge's auto's suck, but i would rather have a good engine with a crap trans, than a crap engine with a good trans. A trans overhaul is cheaper than an engine overhaul. My trucks' a stick anyway.
@caniwitech The 6.4 powerstroke's torque curve is almost identical and has higher peak Torque, and technically it doesn't really matter if your peak torque is at 50,000 RPM, it's still 600+ ft. -lb of turning force against the transmission. I'd also rather have a crap trans than a crap engine, but you can have a good engine and a good trans with a Duramax. GM Diesels have had less recorded repairs than Dodge's Cummins. Sadly I'm a Ford fan and admit the Cummins rates much higher then Ford.
@malkowskitube WHere do you get a list of recorder repairs? You mean under warranty? I work at a dodge dealer, and we have no such thing. If you mean out of warranty, then there would be no way to track it. You could not possibly take into account people fixing their own trucks, independent shops, or dealers repairs. DOes that number consider mileage? wouldn;t that affect repair numbers? Also, cummins dodge;s have been around for 11 more years than duramax, so that would skew your numbers.
thumbs up if you simply like american made trucks

The new Ford 6.7 psds don't have the power and fuel mileage Ford claims. My father has talked to guys that confirmed this.Looks like Jasper will be busy again, has over 70 upgrades for the new 6.7 psd.Found problems during teardowns on 6 of them. The 6 speed auto in them has problems left and right
wafrederick 2 weeks ago
@wafrederick Well the new 6.7 power stroke puts down more power to the wheels, than the duramax or "high-output" cummins, and what are these problems with the 6R140?
CountryRebelx 2 weeks ago
@CountryRebelx There are you tube videos on the transmisson problems. Can't out run the cummins.Try to get a place to buy a Ford with the powerstroke that hauls trailers for a living. You won't,they don't want the ford and find the ford unreliable. The Dodge duallies with the Cummins are used a lot.Diesel mechanics say the powerstrokes are the best thing to come out getting fixed a lot.
wafrederick 2 weeks ago
@wafrederick Your wrong, at the diesel shop here all we have are Cummin's with Auto's coming to get replaced. People around here do the 6.0 headgaskets and EGR delete before something goes wrong. They haven't been to the shop yet. So move along little boy.
greendayrules11 2 weeks ago
@greendayrules11 My father has talked to diesel guys and all they work on are powerstrokes most of the time. There is even a shop and all they work on are Fords with powerstrokes.Only way to work on a Ford with a powerstroke is unbolt the cab and raise it with a hoist first. This is what most diesel repair shops do first after driving it in
wafrederick 2 weeks ago
@CountryRebelx hp or torque? because with hp cummins and international there both very equal but for torque cummins reaches max tourque much faster then the powerstroke and the chevy Dmax

ThatCheetosGuy79 3 weeks ago
@bbbsias4ever Cummins diesel is far better than Fords "Power"stroke, its nothing but a smoking hunk of shit! Worked on trucks for the last 3 years. Most we commonly seen in the shop- Dodge for its transmissions (Mid 90s), GM for its diffs, and front end problems (mid 90s-mid 00s), and Ford with the most (by a long shot) diesel and gas critical motors failures ("power"stroke and Triton). By the way, Ford sells the cheapest truck, so why are you calling a Dodge guy a cheap a#$?

Ford over any American made truck they were built to last my uncles 05 2500 cummins is already falling apart and HE BABIES IT never tows nothing the u joints are going out the a/c blows hotter on the passenger side than the drivers cabin light Control broke. If he used it for what it was made for then I wonder what else would break my 99 f250 v8 5 speed has little to nothing wrong with it other than I snapped my driveline pulling an expedition from Portland to Seattle just saying dodge sucks!
iSLANDKiDD808 5 months ago
@iSLANDKiDD808 ok some facts about fords, they change the bolt patern back and forth metric to standard 7 lug to 8 lug the shop I work for has more fords come in than any other truck combined. the dodge comes in for upgrade only about 98% of the time. ford comes in to just get repaired to keep them running. I can't count how many head gaskets I have had to change on the ford and to do that you have to remove the cab. I could go on and on but you get it.
serger2010 5 months ago 2
@serger2010 Alright ford has a little more engine problems but for dodge the engine is the BEST thing about it all the rest just falls apart they suck. an 05 dodge shouldn't be already falling apart my 99 has yet to give me problems i have 150,000 miles his has 84,000
iSLANDKiDD808 5 months ago
@iSLANDKiDD808 dont worry 808 over here too and even though the 808 is toyota and nissan spammers im all ova the big blue oval myself and serger2010 personal experience with brands differ between people so what you may see others may not what you might think others may not and what i see 9 times out of ten is dodge trucks and chevy trucks going to scrap yards for parts for a broken down project they got but ford has always had a bad rap so it comes with the rep. Its all your preference
ikaikaboy88 4 months ago
@serger2010 good for you take care.
serger2010 5 months ago
@serger2010 You see more Fords come in because there are more of them on the road. Don't forget that part ; ) A Ford will outlast a Dodge every time. Don't forget about the 80K mile auto transmissions Dodge puts in everything they make. I have seen more Dodge's with bad transmissions than any other make. People talk so highly about the cummins, but Dodge doesn't even make it...
moparmurderer 4 months ago 31
@moparmurderer @serger2010 I know it's pretty sad that Dodge will not put good transmissions in their vehicles. My uncle's 2001 Ram 1500 with 211k miles is on it's 3rd one and their 2009 Charger with 55K had major issues with it last month, when on the other hand my grandpa's 1973 Ford F-100 and my dad's '78 F-100 and '85 F-150 4X4 with roughly 615K miles across the three pickups all original transmissions.
zeal117 4 months ago
@zeal117 I know how you feel.. my dad has a 95 ram 1500 - 203k miles and on (at least) it's 3rd transmission. I say this in confidence, because the bad trans we pulled out had a reman. sticker on it, meaning that the original was replaced.
moparmurderer 4 months ago
@moparmurderer so true....u can have good motor in anything but it worth less if the transmission cant hold up
1966v8mustang 4 months ago
@1966v8mustang Just stay away from mopars with auto tranny's and you'll be fine ; ) Their manuals seem to be up to par, but the auto's just don't cut it.. Best all-around truck is still the Fords, hands down. Chevy's are too expensive, and quality seems to be going down the shitter with them as well.
moparmurderer 4 months ago
@moparmurderer very true my buddy had a dodge with a 2500 with a manual trans in it and has no problem out of it he had the truck for about 4 yrs now. and dog the shit out of it...and yes chevy just aint what they use to be. there quality has it going down big time..i own a chevy truck that im wanted to make a play toy out of it but with the way thing are these day i dont see it happening at all pluse im trying to get my mustang done so i can drive this coming summer
1966v8mustang 3 months ago
@1966v8mustang The only issues I have heard about with their manuals is something about a bolt/nut coming loose with the 5th gear. I don't know how much truth there is to it, but I have heard it from a few reputable rebuilders, and have no reasons to question their judgement. Mopar's still squat like little girls when you hook 'em to trailers and they can't get 'em moving, or keep 'em moving.
moparmurderer 3 months ago
@moparmurderer i have chevy 1500 dont pull anything but a small boat around in the summer time with it but the trans is starting to slip like a bitch when ya try to pull out/step down on it. so pretty sure im gonna see about getting ride of it. iv been wanting to get a diff truck anyway i change the trans filter and fluid and still same issue..been thinking about buying a ford powerstroke i looked at today...have u heard or know of any issue with the 05 powerstrokes it has 6.0l in it?
1966v8mustang 3 months ago
@1966v8mustang I have heard that the 6.0's are under powered for a diesel, but I do not have any personal experience with them. I like the old 7.3's, personally. If you feel like doing some research, a good site to check out is ford-trucks(dot)com.
moparmurderer 3 months ago
@1966v8mustang - They have a lot of problems with the EGR cooler from everything I've heard, I hear they're good motors if you install the EGR delete kit though.
Mysterio2276 3 months ago
@moparmurderer Yeah, and until this year ford didn;t make the power stroke, and chevy doesn;t make the duramax. You also have to remeber that cummins motors are brutal on auto's. They make peak torque at 1800 rpm, which is crisng speed. So the trans is spending ans shifting all the time at the engine';s full power level. Even the precious allison 1000 has to eb modified to survice behind the cummins. But i do agree with one thing, i do like ford's trucks better, just not the enigne.
caniwitech 3 months ago
@caniwitech My 300-six cylinder in my f150 makes peak torque at the same RPM. If you're going to use a truck as it was meant to be used, then you're better off buying a Ford. If you're only going to cruise through town, to work, etc, then a dodge is fine. Chevy's are just overrated, in my opinion. They used to be great trucks, but no longer have that quality that used to back them. I guess if you're only going to work your truck like a truck for a year or two and trade it off they are fine.
moparmurderer 3 months ago
@caniwitech All diesel trucks make peak torque between 1500-1800 rpm, and Ford & Chevy have 800 ft. -lb of Torque while current Ram's have 650. So does this mean Ram's will be busting Transmissions as they drive off the dealer lot with their new 800 ft. -lb diesels? lol
malkowskitube 3 months ago
@malkowskitube If you look at a dno print out, you will easily see the difference in torque curve. And yes, dodge's auto's suck, but i would rather have a good engine with a crap trans, than a crap engine with a good trans. A trans overhaul is cheaper than an engine overhaul. My trucks' a stick anyway.
caniwitech 3 months ago
@caniwitech The 6.4 powerstroke's torque curve is almost identical and has higher peak Torque, and technically it doesn't really matter if your peak torque is at 50,000 RPM, it's still 600+ ft. -lb of turning force against the transmission. I'd also rather have a crap trans than a crap engine, but you can have a good engine and a good trans with a Duramax. GM Diesels have had less recorded repairs than Dodge's Cummins. Sadly I'm a Ford fan and admit the Cummins rates much higher then Ford.
malkowskitube 3 months ago
@malkowskitube WHere do you get a list of recorder repairs? You mean under warranty? I work at a dodge dealer, and we have no such thing. If you mean out of warranty, then there would be no way to track it. You could not possibly take into account people fixing their own trucks, independent shops, or dealers repairs. DOes that number consider mileage? wouldn;t that affect repair numbers? Also, cummins dodge;s have been around for 11 more years than duramax, so that would skew your numbers.
caniwitech 3 months ago
