@bandman232 You couldn't drive this car a quarter as well as he does even with the paddle shifters who are you? And there are a lot competitive racing series use paddle shifters now.

@jraybay I think the main reason is lower shifting time. I mean, with a paddle you don't have to reach over and grab the stick. Probably easier. That's why I don't like it. Why not drive with a stick like the production cars do to keep them as stock as possible? And I started racing with a stick. And I probably will stop using one once I get into GP2. I just think stick shifting is more challenging.

@bandman232 No you're wrong again as shifting times aren't effected by the driver pushing a paddle or reaching for a stick they're effected by the transmission and hardly any racing series uses the H pattern anymore it's all about the sequential gearbox now, this is part of the evolution of racing. And you going to GP2 is a load of shit.

@bandman232 Obviously actually engaging the clutch and selecting the appropriate gear is a bit more challenging but at the end of the day the car doesn't drive itself and the degree of difficulty is still very high even with paddle shifters.

Well the NSX is an MR car. MR's are scary but a crap load faster. Pretty sure the Super GT NSX is faster than HSV - 010. MR layout = true race car layout. Did you notice how the HSV's rear end likes to slide out. Firman says the car is really hard to control and it has some oversteering issues, but the brakes are GREAT. Even better than the NSX Super GT (:

@c312eal I do not see a Ford GT or F1 car out there, so that is irrellevant. My point is, the MR NSX was no better or worse than any of the other cars on the track. SuperGT makes sure of that. This is an extremely level playing field. think NASCAR, with fuel injection, twin cams, right corners, and umbrella girls.

To start of the flat bottom rule was made for it. 4 out of 6 super gt tracks fastest lap records were held by the GT500 NSX from year 2007 where the NSX dominated its competition. ARTA finished SO far head of its competition that year. Takata made a record of 5 pp starts out of 7 races. Even in year 2009 was handicapped because of being MR. SC430 and GTR min. weight 1100kg, while the NSX's was 1150kg.

@MetricHotrodsdotcom The pinnacle of racing, the fastest race cars on track, Formula 1 cars use MR layouts... So yeah MR is true race car layout. The flat bottom regulation hurt the NSX so bad. Because the NSX was MR, it's advantage was its aerodynamics. In year 2003 Super GT followed FIA and Le Mans, and made a restriction of all cars to install a flat panel below the car. This greatly affected the NSX downforce. NSX's min weight was also put at 1150kg while the SC430 and GTR were 1100kg.
