As a person who loves Wichita more than anything on this planet I definitely found this funny in a "HAHAHA, I'm gonna punch you in the mouth" sort of way.
There are things to do and this dip shit is obviously an idiot with some daddy issues. Now, wichita USE to be fun up until about 5-7 years ago, people use to be somewhat casual, rock bars and now we have no rock bars, everything is about image and money with D-bag's buying $100 cotton t-shirts and thinking they are 10FT tall and 400lbs to impress ladies while most of the woman wear dresses or something skimpy looking for a guy with money. The men to woman ratio is 7:1 Wichita blows!!!
@deftonesfaraway I lived there from 2007 - 2009, so I can't speak about the 5-7 years ago part, but the rest is mostly true. Not only is the ratio awful, but almost any girl you meet over 23 is either married, divorced (!!!) or has kids. There are only a handful of nightlife spots worth hitting, and nothing going on from Sunday through Wednesday night. The people are nice and approachable, but that's about it.

OLD TOWN is where everything is. if you took a look at old town and north-eastern wichita it's comparable to california (aside from weather conditions of course)

Maybe if you're an outdoors country bumpkin that likes to plough corn, race tractors, hunt bucks, and drunk fish around lakes, then Wichita is for you. As for the city, what a joke -downtown is lifeless on the weekends save for drunk college teeny boppers that come pouring out of the clubs in Old Towne. Pleasant scenery is minimal - try driving up and down Broadway st. -a dump... East and West Harry St.. a dump - nothing but car dealers up and down Kellogg.. and annoying Rusty Eck commercials.

I'm 35 - and in a family of 7, so I can't always go out and get wasted in clubs. I agree, Wichita has theaters and rinks..etc. etc. The city itself is dreary and lacks in personality. How about building something that families can enjoy in that empty lot, but instead they put up another car dealership..or a car wash. How about a DECENT park.. unlike Watson Park where people get hammered and play horseshoes and leave their trash everywhere. but hey, they finished fixn Kellogg! after 10 years!
wichita has great stuff nobody goes to watson park is huge you can pick a side where you wont see that. theres really alot of good parks here. alot of good places to go for familes when i say alot i mean alot. people just sit at home here. you dont even see kids outside anymore its a shame. everyone is inside just sitting around. i know when i was a kid i was always outside and everyone else was. its call running and playing. ride a bike i remember when everyone wanted to be a bmx biker lol
Bikes.. people would be out on their bikes more often if there were more bike PATHS.. then there would be less of a probability that jackass drivers won't try to run them over. In D.C. everyone is out riding a bike. Here, if you're out riding riding a bike and you're not a teenager, they just assume you don't have a CAR. Same with the bus system!! Public transportation a joke, it does not run 24 hours.. only people that use the bus are those who had drivers licenses revoked..

People that lived here all their life are sheltered and deprived from what a real city has to offer. But lucky for them, they don't know the difference. I've been in Wichita 15 years and lived in Europe and D.C. before that. So I've never been able to get used to this place... to this day.

On a lighter note.. real estate is more affordable here than in most other states.
There are a lot of beautiful neighborhoods - my favorite being College Hill. Oh.. we also have a billion Wal-Marts. There seems to be one on every corner.
Real estate is affordable there because no one wants to live there. It is aupply and demand. College Hill is ok...cept for the hood right on the other side by Quicktrip on Central and Oliver.
Wichita has a good bar scene I suppose. Old Town seems lively enough on the weekends. But kids have the worst time here. There's only so many times they can go to the Zoo and Exploration place before they're sick of it. Construction has already closed down a lot of their entertainment (Barnacle Bill's, Discovery Zone, Joy Land etc.).. so many small tractor supply/ car dealer businesses, so little entertainment. No wonder kids get into a lot of trouble in Wichita schools.
Wichita does suck...the cops have nothing to do and the whole place is full of miserable, uptight jackasses and meanmuggers. People are so unhappy there that it is like a blackhole. Move if you can to a place where people are nicer and have more to do.

People that lived here all their life are sheltered and deprived from what a real city has to offer. But lucky for them, they don't know the difference. I've been in Wichita 15 years and lived in Europe and D.C. before that. So I've never been able to get used to this place... to this day.

Wichita is pathetically boring!! The only thing to do is go to movies, get drunk and fat!! People are always eating out, cause they don't know how to cook! I really, really dislike living here. Have lived here 7 years. Came from the East Coast. People here are very protective of Kansas. They get very mad if you say you don't like it. Alot of them have never been outside of the state. I'm soooooo ready to move out of here. Is a very deprived state of many things that are out there.

On a lighter note.. real estate is more affordable here than in most other states.
There are a lot of beautiful neighborhoods - my favorite being College Hill. Oh.. we also have a billion Wal-Marts. There seems to be one on every corner.

Wichita has a good bar scene I suppose. Old Town seems lively enough on the weekends. But kids have the worst time here. There's only so many times they can go to the Zoo and Exploration place before they're sick of it. Construction has already closed down a lot of their entertainment (Barnacle Bill's, Discovery Zone, Joy Land etc.).. so many small tractor supply/ car dealer businesses, so little entertainment. No wonder kids get into a lot of trouble in Wichita schools.
