This bird is a marvelous piece of work! These days though both the Navy and the Air Force are buying drones at exponential rates...well beyond that of purchasing fighter jets. Let's not forget it cost millions to train a fighter pilot and the psychological warefare part of you cant kill a drone...only destroy it
Improved jamming capabilities are another item that will always be in demand, and side-mounted radar arrays would add a big hardware boost. At present, there are no plans to add powered weapons, or even GBU-53 Small Diameter Bomb II capabilities, which would let the F-22s attack moving targets
USAF is still considering what might go into an Increment 3.3 upgrade. Past upgrade plans have included items like side-mounted AESA radar arrays to improve radar field of view and improve ground scans, multispectral/infrared search and track (IRST) systems for aerial and/or ground targets, and the JHMCS helmet-mounted sight.
II don't care if it is the F22, JXX, Pak 50 or the FUCKXXX^5 until a air force takes serious the needs of the pilot the stealth will no longer be affective enough to invade a top tier country. Something we will find out the hard way unless time and energy is put into a real force field array for the plane and also equips with a directed energy weapon to defeat missiles instead of Reynolds wrap. Anyone with a solid physics background and war college ed. knows I am right.

Dogfights are obsolete, BvR is today's aerial combat. Forget your mig's and t-50's maneuverability, you will get shotdown either from 95 km away not even knowing where or from w/c it came from.

Thank you for such an upload!

isn't it ironic that the whole ATF projects & integrated equipment costs more than what they're trying to secure. And I'm afraid f-22's are going to be just too few to make a difference anyway. F-15 should've been the last manned air dominance fighter in my opinion. Much has changed since design work started on the f-22.
Oh, and in terms of aviation F-22 is probably the best, true.
@DRekkali -"F-15 should've been the last manned air dominance fighter in my opinion."
It always amuses me to see this argument come up.
Tell me, if an airliner's modern AI/AP can't be trusted with the mundane repetitiveness of commercial flying, how in hell do you suppose they'll manage to come up with an AI advanced enough to pilot a SEAD mission?? (And don't give me that ol' "remote control" cop-out. RC does away with EMCON/"stealth" and opens you up to signal jamming.)
THE F-22 NEEDS UPGRADES, PRESSURE FROM THE OUTSIDE OR CONGRESS WILL JUST BYPASS AMERICA TRUE A2A ABILITY,OR THEY HAVE JUST KEEPING THEM UNDERWRAPS TO SLOW A WEAPONS RACE? THIS COULD BE WHY U.S GOV WON'T SELL F22 TO OUTSIDE NATIONS. FROM THE PAST ACTIONS OF THE GOV SAY THAT THERE'S A NEW FIGHTER UNDERWAY OR SOMETHING, BUT WHAT CONFUSES ME IS WHY NO REPLACEMENT FOR THE AIM-54 Beyond-visual-range
My brother has worked on this fighter jet and says it can take on multiple migs or whatever the best supposidly is out there in a dog fight and own all of them simultaneosly!
obama is try to get rid of the f22 by doing that he is seriously weakening america come on obama stop making all the other airplanes all we need is the f-22,f-35,b-2,f-14 tomcat, and the a-10 that is it and he also cancelled a program to make stealth f-14 the f-14 is already amazing a stealt one would take over the world and there wouldnt be any tanks becasue of the a-10
F-22 is amazing. As for the Russian PAK T-50, that thing made its first flight in 2010, a whole 20 years behind the F-22. I think the Russians are trying to play some serious catch up. The USA has always been at the forfront of aviation design since ww2, and the tech gap is so great its doubtful the Russians will ever catch up.
oh ya pkrippa my teacher has a friend that had to train for 6 years to be a navy piliot they also fly faster when they land on an aircraft carrier because if they miss then they can get out of there.
Get your facts straight, China owns over 1 Trillion of our Treasury Bonds, THAT THEY BOUGHT FROM US TO EARN INTEREST. We OWN China big time, if they ever decide to mess with us,one we shut off their trade, then they have no money coming in as they are 100% dependant on us,on top of that they loose their 1 TRILLION for attacking us with the war powers act, got it
@edwardoalvarez22 The last thing you want to do is borrow money form China. The American People need to work for less and stop spending money like there is no tomorrow. They need to live on a tight budget. That's if they care and want to save the Country from and economical disaster.
F22A raptor is a plane to believe, trust and hope to peace. I am not an American, I am Kosovar Albanian. I love America Forever. American Technology is a hope to human mankind forever.
Ever since I saw this in a video game I always thought it was the most bad ass plane ever! Seriously I LOVE this Aircraft Because it looks high tech. TO this day this will always be the best Air force aircraft to me because it looks awesome and performs awesomely. It looks slim and flexible! And it has a bad ass name! THE F22 RAPTOR PROUD TO BE AMERICAN. I wish I could Fly one of these birds :)
I Love this bird. America is the greatest and the one superpower. No russian or indian rusty mig\s can resist the attack of F22A. Raptor can burn any existing Mig
@kosovariFORever Yeah.. And S 400 can burn and destroy any airplane of the US inventory from 400km away! And from 2012 S 400 and S 500 will be able to shot down any of the US plane from 600km away and spot from 700km.. So just please be realistic.. You can ask your USMC members who worked with Russian forces and they will tell you that the Russian army is much better! So you and @TheRealHawkeye can shut up! Greeting!
@kosovariFORever Yes. If Sukhois are stationary and without pilots and unarmed, while F22A are armed with the best weapons and flown by the best pilots.
Sukhois and F22 are at the same level. I think it boils down to the skill of the pilots.
@lb8068 O man, do you think the rockets of F22A are not stealthy? DO you think one thing that F22A rockets are made of artificial intelligence that can find the targets by itself? In case of dogfight with your Sukhois, F22A will be lethal for Sukhoi. I am 100% sure that F22A will stay up in the sky, but the opposite ariplanes Not.
@Driti7575 AIM-120B/Cs are radar guided missiles fitted on to a variety of different US aircraft; they are not stealthed. A pilot will get a warning tone when the missile enters active guidance mode.
A variety of Countries also have radar guided missiles, including Russia; eg. the Vympel R77 (AA-12 Adder)
Oh and radar/heat guidance is not artificial intelligence
@RenanMetal96 Sukhoi would resist to F22A for 10 mintues. Believe me. American technology of 5th generation airplane is superior. With respect to all aircrafts, F22A is so powerful warrior of air. The only competitor is Eurofighter, but Sukhoi, is still far behing the F22A capabilities. F22A is Superior.
I don't like USA and american inventions, excepting military. Yes, US military isn't perfect (for example: 5,56x14mm round usage - that's fail, against russian 7,62x39mm), but this little darling called Raptor is the most awesome thing that I've ever seen. USAF is really awesome, AC-130U Spectre Gunship, MQ-1 Predator and much more...
@UsamaThe6th It's not the 5.56 that fail. It's the early M16. Even the Russians know this, they switched to the 5.45 to get characteristics of the 5.56 nato.
fuck russian planes USAF is the best russian planes are old and rusty and you dont even need to shoot them down they will crash anyway maybe after few hours in the sky
Are the F-22 and the F-35 so good? The first in the history of aviation flight tests of Stealth, Tailless 3D Vectoring [STV] with no aerodynamic control surfaces like the X-44 MANTA and the X-47b, took place in Israel in 1987 and briefly reported on May 18, 1987 by Aviation Week. A new video in a Facebook cite ["Benjamin Gal-Or"] explains the agility and safety gained by STV. The F-35 and F-22 are not STV [tails betray stealth, add weight, fuel consumption, no 3D, low agility, too expensive.]

@117harper LOL fuck that little SUck piece of shit. Theres only 5 and there just converted SUck27's.The U.S deploys over 130 F22 Raptors so even if we come to blows the odds are highly against you. thats about 25:1 odds .
@AllahdinTheGreat ; your a freakin idiot. only 5 huh? i like how this number came out of no where, maybe when first made, but they have been producing them until the pak t50 comes out soon. read your knowledge over again.
@117harper I prefer an unbiased discussion. The US History Channel contradicts the Russian Discovery channel. The Su-37 is out of the game. Anything under 5th generation will lose to a Raptor. The PakFa looks good, but Russia is selling them to other nations. That obviously shows Russia doesn't have that much confidence in the PAKFA. If they did they wouldn't sell it. The Raptors true capabilities have not been revealed yet. Argue all you want, facts are facts.
@TheRealHawkeye and believe me they just took a third of the market selling this aircraft, there makin alot more money off this than you think. they sold them to india becuase they have a great pact together. so you can shove your "facts" up your ass
@117harper Oh is the little idiot starting to get cwanky? I will give you this. From WWII to no, US has always had the better kill ratio against Russian planes. Mig-15vs F-86, F4E vs Mig-17,21, F-15 w/ no losses and much more. Why would this be different? Look at your facts you idiot US has always had an aviation edge over Russia. Russia makes excuses when they lose pilots. We don't need to make any excuses.
@TheRealHawkeye well i know that the US made alot of excuses when russia shot down a stealth bomber. they said it was "lucky" russia aviation have been ahead before we even had nasa, just wait.
@117harper No stealth bomber has ever been shot down check your facts again. 1 crashed in 2008 but thats it unless you mean an F117 where only 1 was lost as opposed to russian desighned aircraft losses.
@117harper If you are who you say you are, and you're in the Marine Corp, then much thanks to you. But maybe marines like you should stay away from Air force videos. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. "well i know that the US made alot of excuses when russia shot down a stealth bomber." Where's the proof? If you gave some sort of evidence, people would take you more seriously. I believe you're referring to the U-2 that was shot down during a surveillance mission in 1960.
@117harper You not a true American. Americans are either for or unbiased about their technology. Show me the proof, I never heard about this stealth. You didn't answer my question to you. Why would the PAKFA be better then the Raptor? America has always had superior aviation technology. I am not making up garbage. I will drown you in proof if necessary.
@117harper wouldn't matter you pilots are not trained near as hard compared to ours...... let me give you an example.....US f-86 sabre vs mig 15 the mig fifteen was the better plane but the kill ratio was 80 sabres to 500 migs......
@TheRealHawkeye Finally someone said it correctly. The only thing I would add is nobody has figured out how to shoot down a 35 year old F-15 yet. What makes them think they ca touch this bird?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@TheRealHawkeye Well the test was conducted by "US" History Channel so I think if the 'Great" Americans have conducted the simulation then its fair to say the F-22 Raptor project should've been dumped and burned out of the arse of a F-111 10 years ago.
@117harper oh one other interesting thing i'd like to point out..... when mig designed a civil airliner they put rear mounted engines.... fluid dynamics wise this was a good choice... they forgot to consider the weight of the engines.... the aircraft had an extreme aft center of gravity..... they had to put sandbags in the front to balance it out....... now don't you agree that that was a stupid error
although this aircraft has yet to live up to its expectations, its by far one of the best, if not, the best aircraft today "on paper". i don't mean that negatively. it has to prove itself it is the best. i've stood next to it, seen it fly, and i have to say, this plane is huge. i mean really HUGE. it is a concern especially in a dogfight. i could see this plane probably from almost two miles away; whereas the f-15s, f-18s, f-16s, mig-29s, eurofighters, mirage 2000s, i can see them a mile away
@em745aa the kills ratios are impressive, but that is an exercise. an exercise is different than a real aerial engagement. what i want to see is an f-22 vs mig1.44, su37, or the upcoming pak fa. i'm not being stubborn or saying f-22 is not good. i'm just not being naive. also, the pics didn't show on comments page. i still stand with what i say: the f-22 is huge. have u seen it fly in a wedge formation with an f-16, f-15, f-18, or mig 29? i have. honestly what makes f-22 a big plane is the wing
BTW, the MiG 1.44 (MFI) was cancelled as I recall, there is no more SU-37 (which was nothimg more than an airshow queen), and the PAK-FA is nowhere near being ready for mass production.
-"the pics didn't show on comments page"
You have to copy-paste each URL into your browser's location bar.
(Remove the space in the ".c om" part)
-"the f-22 is huge"
Its wing area is large, yes, but the plane itself is no bigger than the F-14, F-15 and F-18SH in linear terms.
@em745aa wow, u r just really naive. you stubbornly believe actual combat is not harder than the red flags exercise. red flag exercise are "hypothetical" simulations of what they might go up against. red flag exercises are "controlled" simulations/experiments. also, most of the time the adversary planes are f-16s and f-15s. gee, who win: f-16 vs su-27? Su-27; who would win f-15 vs Su-30? Su-30. by the way, IAF kicked f-15s ass by a 9-to-1 kill ratio in '08 red flag. (cont.)
@cy156326 Yeah, I'M the one who's stubborn and naive. Explain to me EXACTLY how actual combat, against foes that will be combat-loaded for bear, will be any harder than training against Red Flag instructors flying sqeaky clean Vipers, with ROE's set up to overwhelmingly favor the "red" guys.
You honestly think an SU bogged down with missiles, and with an RCS the size of a barn, will be as nimble and "discrete" as a stripped down Block 30 Viper??
@em745aa Have u fought in a war? If u haven't, then u shouldn't be talking like u know which is harder. Again, Red Flag is a simulation. Of course u want to make the exercise as difficult as u can. this allows the pilots to hone their skills, learn their mistakes, develop new tactics, etc. it is what allows them to be prepared for the real thing. i've seen the report for the f-16 vs su27; the f-16 had a bad day every time, but wtvs, you are entitled to your opinion.
(cont.) I was there; which brings me to this point: an exercise is not the same or even close to being better than the real engagement. so yes, sadly, I want to see the f-22 go up against another worthy adversary in a real aerial engagement because that is what makes a great fighter aircraft. the f-22 has yet to establish itself in the history books; otherwise, its just another aircraft. like i said, the f-22 is a great, fantastic, awesome plane, but it has prove its the best.
by the way, KID, have u actually seen any of the aircrafts I mentioned earlier?
the f-22 was designed to have a small radar signature from head-on but not the length and width of the plane. the wing is huge and uniquely shaped bc its designed to provide better lift. when I said the f-22 is huge, I stated my observation: I could see the f-22 at a greater distance than the other aircrafts regardless of how it was oriented/positioned in the sky. sad that you can't, cuz tats how you die
@em745aa pictures on the internet is not the same as standing inches away and actually seeing the real thing. i know what VLO is. you are changing the subject now.you clearly missed my point: the f-22 is big; bigger than i thought the first time I SAW it. i was just comparing it to the aircrafts i've seen. its pointless talking to you. i don't even know why you care so much of my opinions.
@em745aa I don't really wanna get involved in your argument but...I don't really agree with your "Red Flag stimulation is better than actual combat" point, well unless it's combat in the Iraq/Afghanistan war then that's a different story. But if there happens to be an American-Russian war (but I really hope this never happens) then its actual combat would be much harder than a stimulation. Also, in a stimulation, you don't die; so you can do it without worrying as much. Keep that in mind.
@kuru72 -"But if there happens to be an American-Russian war then its actual combat would be much harder than a stimulation"
Assuming Russian pilots are any better than the pilots of all those MiGs that got splashed by US-made fighters over the years?... (Never mind those Red Flag/Top Gun instructors.)
-"Also, in a stimulation, you don't die"
Metaphorically, yes you do. Trainees know what the implications are when they get "killed."
@em745aa Dude can you relax a bit? You're not a pilot so you're never gonna know. US military is more active so we know more about them, but that doesn't mean we can underestimate Russian pilots. In a stimulation, ya you could say if you get shot down, you can imagine dying and reflect on it heavily but you're still alive. Also, if you mess up, you can reset it. In a real battle, if you mess up, there's a good chance that you'll die. Oh this is my last comm on this vid. I'm kinda busy. Peace out
who ever made this video must be serving our country.hi im casey stanton and when i grow up im gonna be a fighter pilot flying either the f-22 or the f-15.im a big fan of milatary things.but my bestest is fighters.this may sound a little weird for a kid but i study on fighter jets its my main thing i like to study.also i study and look up weopons and ireally hope i can study more about this fighter jet.
Consider that the US can buy more F-22's than most nations can afford in Su-35's. Also consider that the F-22, like most planes since the 80's can attack 6+ targets at once. However, the F-22 can do that in a surprise attack greatly increasing the likelihood of success. The F-22 also has the advantage of being able to penetrate dense air defenses with much higher survival probability. You would probably need dozens of Su-35's to match a pair of F-22's in that situation.
The greatest aircraft in exsist. Power unrivaled, not even trailled closely by. Best sound of a engine to date, loud and proud! All enemy planes will see nothing till its too late. The F-22 is even the sexiest, IMO.
I'm jealous of Zeke, lucky F-22 demo pilot. Hope to follow in his steps has an instructor and a demo pilot! AETC/ACC all the way!
@moe761 Thanks Moe, thought I was the only one who noticed the "pphhmmp-pphmpp music. Like I said, guess that takes everyone's mind off the aircraft's true capabilities. Nice fluff piece by Air Force public relations :)

In case of dogfight with your Sukhois, F22A will be lethal for Sukhoi. I am 100% sure that F22A will stay up in the sky, but the opposite ariplanes Not.
Driti7575 3 months ago
@Driti7575 AIM-120B/Cs are radar guided missiles fitted on to a variety of different US aircraft; they are not stealthed. A pilot will get a warning tone when the missile enters active guidance mode.
A variety of Countries also have radar guided missiles, including Russia; eg. the Vympel R77 (AA-12 Adder)
Oh and radar/heat guidance is not artificial intelligence

@117harper I prefer an unbiased discussion. The US History Channel contradicts the Russian Discovery channel. The Su-37 is out of the game. Anything under 5th generation will lose to a Raptor. The PakFa looks good, but Russia is selling them to other nations. That obviously shows Russia doesn't have that much confidence in the PAKFA. If they did they wouldn't sell it. The Raptors true capabilities have not been revealed yet. Argue all you want, facts are facts.

although this aircraft has yet to live up to its expectations, its by far one of the best, if not, the best aircraft today "on paper". i don't mean that negatively. it has to prove itself it is the best. i've stood next to it, seen it fly, and i have to say, this plane is huge. i mean really HUGE. it is a concern especially in a dogfight. i could see this plane probably from almost two miles away; whereas the f-15s, f-18s, f-16s, mig-29s, eurofighters, mirage 2000s, i can see them a mile away
cy156326 1 year ago
@cy156326 -"it has to prove itself it is the best"

em745aa 1 year ago
@em745aa the kills ratios are impressive, but that is an exercise. an exercise is different than a real aerial engagement. what i want to see is an f-22 vs mig1.44, su37, or the upcoming pak fa. i'm not being stubborn or saying f-22 is not good. i'm just not being naive. also, the pics didn't show on comments page. i still stand with what i say: the f-22 is huge. have u seen it fly in a wedge formation with an f-16, f-15, f-18, or mig 29? i have. honestly what makes f-22 a big plane is the wing
cy156326 1 year ago
@cy156326 -"an exercise is different than a real aerial engagement"
If anything, the training pilots go though at Red Flag (and Top Gun for that matter) is harder than what they might face in actual combat.
-"what i want to see is an f-22 vs mig1.44, su37, or the upcoming pak fa"
You "WANT" to see these fights??? You're one strange cookie, kid.
em745aa 1 year ago
BTW, the MiG 1.44 (MFI) was cancelled as I recall, there is no more SU-37 (which was nothimg more than an airshow queen), and the PAK-FA is nowhere near being ready for mass production.
-"the pics didn't show on comments page"
You have to copy-paste each URL into your browser's location bar.
(Remove the space in the ".c om" part)
-"the f-22 is huge"
Its wing area is large, yes, but the plane itself is no bigger than the F-14, F-15 and F-18SH in linear terms.
em745aa 1 year ago
@em745aa wow, u r just really naive. you stubbornly believe actual combat is not harder than the red flags exercise. red flag exercise are "hypothetical" simulations of what they might go up against. red flag exercises are "controlled" simulations/experiments. also, most of the time the adversary planes are f-16s and f-15s. gee, who win: f-16 vs su-27? Su-27; who would win f-15 vs Su-30? Su-30. by the way, IAF kicked f-15s ass by a 9-to-1 kill ratio in '08 red flag. (cont.)
cy156326 1 year ago
@cy156326 Yeah, I'M the one who's stubborn and naive. Explain to me EXACTLY how actual combat, against foes that will be combat-loaded for bear, will be any harder than training against Red Flag instructors flying sqeaky clean Vipers, with ROE's set up to overwhelmingly favor the "red" guys.
You honestly think an SU bogged down with missiles, and with an RCS the size of a barn, will be as nimble and "discrete" as a stripped down Block 30 Viper??
Get REAL!
em745aa 1 year ago
@em745aa Have u fought in a war? If u haven't, then u shouldn't be talking like u know which is harder. Again, Red Flag is a simulation. Of course u want to make the exercise as difficult as u can. this allows the pilots to hone their skills, learn their mistakes, develop new tactics, etc. it is what allows them to be prepared for the real thing. i've seen the report for the f-16 vs su27; the f-16 had a bad day every time, but wtvs, you are entitled to your opinion.
cy156326 1 year ago
(cont.) I was there; which brings me to this point: an exercise is not the same or even close to being better than the real engagement. so yes, sadly, I want to see the f-22 go up against another worthy adversary in a real aerial engagement because that is what makes a great fighter aircraft. the f-22 has yet to establish itself in the history books; otherwise, its just another aircraft. like i said, the f-22 is a great, fantastic, awesome plane, but it has prove its the best.
cy156326 1 year ago
by the way, KID, have u actually seen any of the aircrafts I mentioned earlier?
the f-22 was designed to have a small radar signature from head-on but not the length and width of the plane. the wing is huge and uniquely shaped bc its designed to provide better lift. when I said the f-22 is huge, I stated my observation: I could see the f-22 at a greater distance than the other aircrafts regardless of how it was oriented/positioned in the sky. sad that you can't, cuz tats how you die
cy156326 1 year ago
@cy156326 -"so yes, sadly, I want to see the f-22 go up against another worthy adversary"
I see, so you get off on war, eh?
Nice.
-"by the way, KID, have u actually seen any of the aircrafts I mentioned earlier?"
Did YOU actually bother to check the images I posted earlier?
-"the f-22 was designed to have a small radar signature from head-on but not the length and width of the plane"
The F-22 is an ALL-ASPECT VLO platform. Look up what THAT means, kid.
em745aa 1 year ago
@em745aa pictures on the internet is not the same as standing inches away and actually seeing the real thing. i know what VLO is. you are changing the subject now.you clearly missed my point: the f-22 is big; bigger than i thought the first time I SAW it. i was just comparing it to the aircrafts i've seen. its pointless talking to you. i don't even know why you care so much of my opinions.
cy156326 1 year ago
@em745aa I don't really wanna get involved in your argument but...I don't really agree with your "Red Flag stimulation is better than actual combat" point, well unless it's combat in the Iraq/Afghanistan war then that's a different story. But if there happens to be an American-Russian war (but I really hope this never happens) then its actual combat would be much harder than a stimulation. Also, in a stimulation, you don't die; so you can do it without worrying as much. Keep that in mind.
kuru72 1 year ago
@kuru72 -"But if there happens to be an American-Russian war then its actual combat would be much harder than a stimulation"
Assuming Russian pilots are any better than the pilots of all those MiGs that got splashed by US-made fighters over the years?... (Never mind those Red Flag/Top Gun instructors.)
-"Also, in a stimulation, you don't die"
Metaphorically, yes you do. Trainees know what the implications are when they get "killed."
Keep THAT in mind.
em745aa 1 year ago
@em745aa Dude can you relax a bit? You're not a pilot so you're never gonna know. US military is more active so we know more about them, but that doesn't mean we can underestimate Russian pilots. In a stimulation, ya you could say if you get shot down, you can imagine dying and reflect on it heavily but you're still alive. Also, if you mess up, you can reset it. In a real battle, if you mess up, there's a good chance that you'll die. Oh this is my last comm on this vid. I'm kinda busy. Peace out
