  • My Internet isn't fast enough

    :'(

  • Yeah! That's cool!! Use it for Google Books! It's awesome practically. :) Good job.

  • I like it until it loads up the website

  • anyone else find it ironic there using safari?

  • @Almont1996 that's not safari, just chrome on OSX

  • @rbnwave oh sorry, i have a pc so i didnt no there was a difference lol

  • @Almont1996 they are not, see the spanner icon, they are using chrome on mac

  • @Almont1996 they are using chrome on a mac

  • nice

  • Respond to this video...

  • People dont read Google - get an audio voice to read the books for them.

  • what kind of modern witchcraft is this?!

  • This will render far better in IE5 for Mac in a virtual environment.

  • well you can start by turning off all that rotating background and pauses before opening the book, no one wants that shit. it got old before I even visited your bookcase

  • Would run and look better on a Windows machine. Try that next time.

  • This looks great, although I can't try it out because Chrome started wreaking havoc with my Windows XP OS and I had to remove it. I would like more functionality for linking MyLibrary to the rest of the world of books. That means a checkbox for whether or not I own the book, and a date field for when I read it. That way I can keep apart the stock of 2000 books I own from the sea of books out there. Also I want a MyLibrary button accessible at all times on my Google account home page.

  • lag

  • fail! Running chrome on a mac. Not great publicity for Chrome OS hehe

  • @Octavideoz

No I think it's quite good. Shows they're not some kind of corporate whore, pushing all their products at any and every chance they get. Makes me like them a little bit more.

  • @Octavideoz Chrome OS is not meant as a fullborn OS, its only for netbooks

  • now I want a real books shelf like this in my home :)

  • neat

  • it shows just one page...offical blogs of authors/amazon.com give you more previews

  • And this is easier than a text search, why?

  • @oppy1984 Because you can still do text search, and people remembers easily seeing ads from new books and by this way they can find out the book by look if not remembering author or book name.

The book cover is a artwork as well. Same way as LP or CD's have own artworks in cover. People love to browse those and find out the wanted thing using memory by that way.

I am CLI person myself and even I know how important GUI is, even that CLI is much more powerfull and faster in most cases.

  • is this gonna be released on ICS?

  • Using Mac....

  • Looks good, but it's just another way to port reallity into the digital world. Let's separate things will we? Let the book form factor stay in the real physical world and just bring us books quickly efficiently.

  • @CacilhasMan That is WebGL promo. Not final product. Idea is to just show people what WebGL can do and what are possibilities to do with it.

I sure would love to see all results right away in front of me when I select group without time to wait (1-2 seconds is enough) but with 5 second animation to go up the pillar, is just visual effect for this demo purpose.

  • Works great on Firefox 7 =)

  • How the hell do you find the book you're looking for....

  • Now companies who make hardware media players need to start employing something like this.

So, Google, when are you going to start making hardware media players?

  • WHAT GOOGLE CHROME THEME IS THAT!?

  • @MrOhraesisstrakur IT'S THE DEFAULT ONE!

  • @MrOhraesisstrakur Looks like regular Chrome except that it's being run on a Mac.

  • woah

  • Whoop

  • you know what is cool.. going to bookshops and picking up books and reading bit of them.. that's cool.

  • FAIL

  • Win

  • @therupertbob dows
