I love the meaning of this song so much... This song and Wrapped Up In Time are two songs that can make me cry. But they're sometimes happy tears too.
I felt that ..... it's too different from 'Seasons End' or 'Brave'. I like dramatic/pop rock-era. And also like Fish-era. In Japan, Oasis and Radiohead are not so big. Perhaps we asian listner is different from European listener. From 1960's to 1980's, West world's hit songs also selled well in Japan or Asian nations. But, from 1990's, gone separate ways. I think so. Marillion won't write songs with hook anymore? west kids dislike traditional rocks?
One of the best songs they made. This song will never get boring! Everything in this song fits together beautifully. And H's voice is so fragile and crisp in the beginning. I love this man so much!! He pulled me through some rough times with his beautiful voice and lyrics! Prog on!!
These types songs are the reason why I love Hogarth's voice. I love when he starts singing "wide awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake....."!
I saw Marillion in 2009 in Hamburg on their accoustic tour and it was phantastic. There was no show, only the band playing and activating great and wonderful emotions in me.
This song makes me think about my friends... I just don't know where I would be right now without them. I love Marillion, they have never been to South America I think, and that is why I ran to see them first opportunity I had studying in Europe. The atmosphere they created with this song is something I will never forget.
@Quisca1-Hello! How are you? I think they have been at least in Venezuela. That's where the live in Caracas album was recorded in the early 90's. I don't know if they've been back to SA since.
I miss this song. I haven't heard it in ages. I think Steve Hogarth, not lyrically, although this is a brilliant piece, gave the band more musical taste than Fish ever di. However, both are spectacular.
i listen marillion about 4 years, but last year i was at their concerts, at Sofia, in Bulgaria and in Dublin, and there i really fall in love.... i hope you understand that you can like a band, but if you don't see the band in concert, it is not the same - excuse my english, i am from Romania... here are few people who listen marillion....unfortunately....
i don't believe you... were are you from? anyway, Marillion has concert in Italy, Venice, in 26 june... I will be there...If you are from Romania, write some words in our language, please.....
So take my hand, squeeze it tight, make some light in the darkness. I'm glad you came on this trip, don't lose your grip, don't lose your grip, this train is my life...

They've been to South America many times. See "From Stoke Row To Ipanema" video for instance.
