I say that out of respect, watch him in the ring, look at his body, compare how often he competes to how much he used to. He can't take it anymore, even with a heavily reduced schedule. He's getting injured like every year, he nearly got injured in his first match back in Legacy.

He's one of the all time greats, and I don't want all his work to end with him spending the last years of his life in a wheelchair.
