@fantasygirl911 I have a demil M1 sitting right next to me. They don't weigh above 11lbs. Do some research on the rifle you drill with. Unloaded 9.5lbs. The demil process will add enough weight to just put it over 10lbs and a few ounces.
@Armed4Life07 ive done my research, im the freaking assistant armourer. i know how much our rifles weigh. im on the teams and i do the paperwork. our practice ones weigh 13 pounds. our performance ones are much more brittle and weigh 11. our rifles are seriously old school okay, they are older than most of our cadets, so they are going to weigh a little more. and its not like it matters anyway. we still kick butt get first place all the time.

I've been drilling since 2003 and apparently, know a little bit more about what I drill with than you. What would make your M1 weigh more than mine in they are both demilitarized? Google newguardusa, go to their website and look up resource then weapon specifications.

I always wonder why people practice this rather than a useful fighting style with those rifles? Such a waste of time it seems, discipline can come in any form though there are more useful paths to discipline.

well thats a pretty good routine wont lie. gotta say i didnt like the ripple as much as some of the other schools have come up with but yea it was a good routine overall. could do a lil better on the secondary taps. and the spacing and alignment can always be worked at. but hey it was an awesome lil routine.

apu it does make a difference if you spin 15-16lb rifle you get tired and youll make mistakes in the routine its just like playing football the more tired you get the more your likely hood of getting hurt is increased

And to the Burbank cadets...are you serious, is this what the program has come down to? I used to be proud to say i was in the Burbank Armed Drill team not only because of the tophies(almost 20 on some years if i recall correctly)but because of the reputation of being the best NJROTC has to offer, the dedication, the commitment, the brotherhood, amd most importantly restaint it took to be on the team. Burbank Springfield rifles weighed no more than 11 lbs some varied but the average was 10.4 lbs .How do I know? I weighed them when I helped build them back up when i was CO and asst ADMIN in 2003-2005. and then went on to do Drill Team for college level AFROTC using M1 weighing 13lbs and it didnt affect my spinning technique and talent, i personally prefer the M1 because of the better grip so all can quit their belly aching.
M1903 with cement in the barrel adds a few ounces at most. The amount of cement needed for it to weigh 3-4 pounds more than a standard M1903 is alot more than the rifle has room for. Also chrome would barely add any weight at all, that is just the cosmetic part of the rifle. Also a demil M1 will weigh 9.5 pounds to 11.5 pounds. A demil springfield will weigh 8.9 to 9.5 pounds. Whats with all the rifle weight inflation and hostility towards each other?

well jus to let u knoe im da drill team commander to this drill we used daisy m1903 springfield rifles wich way roughly about 12 pounds but since we got them chromed it ways about 15 pounds....i made this drill up in less than one month time so if u want to compete then give us two months and we would certainly have a good competition
Ight, homeboy. Now that's what i wanted to hear. Actually to be honest and not to brag or anything, but we had a competition on sunday and we got Best Reg. Commander out of about 7 other schools including Bellevue West which is a Nationally know drill team. Also our routine was compared to the Marines Silent Drill. I always wonder why people practice this rather than a useful fighting style with those rifles? Such a waste of time it seems, discipline can come in any form though there are more useful paths to discipline.

wow.....u guys can talk alot about drill team huh....cool...but yeah...we came in 5th....but i gotta hand it to soledad...they did great at Titan drill meet...they deserve 1st...but don't worry about it...that aint burbank's best....all the way drill teams and color guards.

well thats a pretty good routine wont lie. gotta say i didnt like the ripple as much as some of the other schools have come up with but yea it was a good routine overall. could do a lil better on the secondary taps. and the spacing and alignment can always be worked at. but hey it was an awesome lil routine.

Dang, gud job Burbank u guys came in second at the Jet Battalion but u guyz should of came in 1st coz u guys won hekka 1st place trophies, they got hekka second and thirds... Weo, at least I came in 4th for the Upperclassmen Drill down W/Arms, that was the best our school did was picking me for the drill down...

apu it does make a difference if you spin 15-16lb rifle you get tired and youll make mistakes in the routine its just like playing football the more tired you get the more your likely hood of getting hurt is increased

dumb fuck it dosent matter in a drill if its a few lbs different... thats y u practice to get use to it n build the strength for it... n its not like a fuckin football game cuz ur not running, ur marching which dose not use as much stamina as running... in a drill its mainly bout the strength in ur arms n if u practice ull build it in no time... strength is a lot easier to build than stamina...

And to the Burbank cadets...are you serious, is this what the program has come down to? I used to be proud to say i was in the Burbank Armed Drill team not only because of the tophies(almost 20 on some years if i recall correctly)but because of the reputation of being the best NJROTC has to offer, the dedication, the commitment, the brotherhood, amd most importantly restaint it took to be on the team. We all get mad at times but the best man can always turn the other cheek.This all I have to say

Burbank Springfield rifles weighed no more than 11 lbs some varied but the average was 10.4 lbs .How do I know? I weighed them when I helped build them back up when i was CO and asst ADMIN in 2003-2005. and then went on to do Drill Team for college level AFROTC using M1 weighing 13lbs and it didnt affect my spinning technique and talent, i personally prefer the M1 because of the better grip so all can quit their belly aching.

M1903 with cement in the barrel adds a few ounces at most. The amount of cement needed for it to weigh 3-4 pounds more than a standard M1903 is alot more than the rifle has room for. Also chrome would barely add any weight at all, that is just the cosmetic part of the rifle. Also a demil M1 will weigh 9.5 pounds to 11.5 pounds. A demil springfield will weigh 8.9 to 9.5 pounds. Whats with all the rifle weight inflation and hostility towards each other?

Wow. Your just like any other idiot on youtube. No surprise. Springfields weigh AT MOST 10 lbs, usually after demil they're about 9. Chrome would make it 10. You are not special, your rifle does not weigh 250 lbs. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

well jus to let u knoe im da drill team commander to this drill we used daisy m1903 springfield rifles wich way roughly about 12 pounds but since we got them chromed it ways about 15 pounds....i made this drill up in less than one month time so if u want to compete then give us two months and we would certainly have a good competition

Ight, homeboy. Now that's what i wanted to hear. Actually to be honest and not to brag or anything, but we had a competition on sunday and we got Best Reg. Commander out of about 7 other schools including Bellevue West which is a Nationally know drill team. Also our routine was compared to the Marines Silent Drill. Thanks for the friendly competition, i appreciate it.
