You know maybe if this is your first camera it isn't so bad. I got it for Christmas and its simplicity has made it a great camera. Also because it is so simple you have to learn a lot of camera techniques that could become useful if you ever decide to start making professorial videos.

Being able to do widescreen and high-quality (even HD video) from something as small as this is pretty interesting if you ask me. I have an LCD PC monitor (not a TV, as it has nothing to play TV media with). And even still, I'm not real sure it's anything HD-ready. It's still a very interesting camera/camcorder. Great stuff.

I think people should note that this is by no means for professional purposes. At most, it'll give you good quality for family memories or whatever. Possibly the average youtube blogger as well.

With these cameras, there's generally very bad audio quality, and the shape of it is very ineffective for a lot of things.

If you're just looking to capture every day memories in good quality, that's great, but don't get this for any serious videos.

While the "point and shoot" is simple, that's really the only thing this camera has going for it. I bought one a last year and was really disappointed. I never used the editing software that it comes with (why would I?) and unless they fixed things on the Mino, the thing is a battery EATER. Everytime I wanted to film something, it needed a fresh set. "Point-and-shoot" defeats the purpose if it's really "Replace-expensive-batteries, point-and-shoot"

Not worth it. Get yourself a nice camera.

I was thinking of getting a Flip Video for my birthday this coming January. I was pretty impressed in that this is just point-and-shoot. I mostly rely on my webcam for my own videos, but I think this camera would be a great start for ANYBODY wanting to make pro-quality videos on YouTube. The Mino lineup costs a little more than any of the base Flip cameras. However, I'm sure you're getting a lot for the money when picking up this MinoHD.

just resolution. Mino is VGA (4:3) and MinoHD is 720p (16:9 widescreen). Sharper video quality, although you won't notice it on YouTube because they compress so much when you upload.

The Flip Mino is a Portable video camera that records videos[in this case HD videos] on a built in hard drive and allows you to easily transfer the video to ur computer and then to any video sharing website.

The flip videos are terrible, i bought one a year ago and all i can say is "what the fuck".

When you get it they make you put there terrible editing software on your computer, and its picks up sound like shit, i bought it to record videos of my band and some dirtbike/atv videos, its so bad at picking up sound, if anyone reads this and considers buying one DONT! youll be sorry if you do.

The programs that cameras come with are half-assed. You just need to import the video into Sony Vegas or Windows Movie Maker and turn the sound up with the editing software.

whoever invented the flip video is a fuckin genius. its so awesome and convenient. i have the original orange and white one, and its my favorite thing. other cameras are such a hassle, with all the uploading issues and firewire cables and theyre so big and clunky and annoying. flips are awesome.
