Well your Freind who says it is only half lego, better go back again and look at it a bit more closely as apart from the electronics and a few supports bars it is All Lego.
@santascaresme2 Be nice to see, The boat on the clip was also at the show again last year but the top half has taken a few knocks and I think will get a bit of tlc for this years show
it just needs some LEGO weaponry on it! Some Lego Technic torpedo shooters, and like, oh man, the missile launching thoughts that come to mind.. make war with the other brittle boat models!

my god if it has lead batterys for ballast it could take out many a good ship is it an ice breaker too lol. best keep it and send it out first on the pond in winter
@Joakim441
I think he used a metal piece, same shape as the hole of a legopart, and used vaseline to make it watertight.

nickerman55 2 years ago
I believe
its direct drive to the shaft, the motor is a 12 volt smiths type car heater style motor,

Short clip of a Model boat Built out of 12,000 lego bricks being sailed at The International Model Boat show at Warwick 2008
RuncornSMBC 2 years ago
how did you seal off the motor? do you have a motor high on the boat that drive the propellor via chain? (thats what i do)
TheFatAssCat 2 years ago
To my knowledge the motor is direct to the shaft , the whole of the inside of the lego hull is sealed with resin,
RuncornSMBC 2 years ago
its direct drive to the shaft, the motor is a 12 volt smiths type car heater style motor, the boat is 48 inches long.

modelman66 3 years ago
why? is it glued together i thought it would just fall apart, thats the fun of lego.how big is it?
modelman66 3 years ago
Each brick has been glued on and then epoxied with fibreglass resin (or similar) inside the Hull. It is about 3 foot long.
RuncornSMBC 3 years ago
ha,ha thats pretty cool skipper how many knots does she do.
modelman66 3 years ago
Put it this way , I would not like to be another model should you be accidental hit by it. Considering what it is built of it sailed very nicely.
