Wow, imagine selling this stateside, a Toyota "boy-racer" with a half-decent engine. Currently Toyota isn't serious about sport cars here, not since the days of the Celica, the Camry is for the 35+ crowd now, and the "S" badges on the Matrix/Corolla/Yaris just mean a leather steering wheel and chrome shift lever, lol. I think 8's are just about done, at least in the cars segments, look at the Lexus HS250h, it's a 4 cyl. Atkinson + elec. motor. We have 6's putting out the HP that 8's put out in some cases. Turbo's do wonderful things, don't they? I can't wait for them to be listed as "standard equipment" by 2016.... lol.

my mate works at my local Toyota TRD dealership (yes there still TRD dealerships around for people who own TRD's) and he test drove one and said there the worst thing he has ever driven..has some balls but the torque steer in them is stupid and that toyota should have made them AWD or RWD to even compete with Ford or Holden in Aus for the large cars

I had a drive of one of these yesterday, lots of go and good brakes and chassis balance but its really not a sports car and it's easy to tell it came from a Camery. Same money can get you a I6 Turbo Ford Falcon and believe me its a much better drive and a lot sportier.

Yeah underneath it is a Camry its just the Aussie V6 version. I think they may export them to the states to compete with the Holden Commodore (Pontiac G8) but driving one is just like a camry and the TRD version with 240kw (bout 300hp) is just a way over powered heavy front wheel drive so its a bit of a dog. Does look good though.

don't know why people are into Ford XR6, XR8 and Holden SS, SSV etc. they are no doubt powerful cars but are crap , plastic interior and irts really hard to sit and get out of the car especially sitting at the back seat in Ford BA or MkII Xr6/8. Toyota is the best brand in the world and i reckon it will not take too long for them to bring out a pure performance muscle car more then 350kwh. Go TOYOTA best the rest
