Toyota Prius???? Ugly ass car - life is too short to drive a Toyota: F that crap. Bonzai - ooops recall! Recall Recall Recall. The Prius is the new Audi 4000: fails to stop: mass recall.
@Gamerman: In plain English - Toyota licks ballz like a dog named Chopper. Now I'm careful when in parking lots and see a Toyota; that thing can lunge forward and be a hazard to pedestrians; like your dad without his training wheels.
prius? who the bloody hell wants a prius and why are we even talking about priuses here? prius is the bubbles in the toilet when I piss. cute in a funny way, but useless.
@MoskvaMorten I love the CTS-V. But, seriously, give the most recent generation Prius a drive. It appeals to a different type of driving enthusiast (yes, enthusiast, not every enthusiast likes driving for going fast). There is something pretty crazy about driving to work for months and only having a single fill up. Also, it's eerily quiet inside.
I'd still take the CTS-V in a heartbeat, mind you.
@straightedge442 As compared to what? The fantastic European diesels that aren't available in the states? It's absolutely fuel efficient, with the 2nd lowest drag coefficient of any current production car. Over 500 miles on an 11 gallon tank is darned impressive. Saying that averaging 45 mpg combined cycle isn't "that efficient" is ridiculous. You might not like the Prius, and I certainly prefer power and performance over pure efficiency, but I know where to draw the line.
@TheFerruccio My comment had nothing to do with power and performance. The Prius uses ancient Nickel-metal hydride technology. If it was a meaningful step to the future, it would get a little more than 45 mpg combined. It has this misleading image of efficiency and progressive action, but really, it's not.
@straightedge442 I fail to see the point you're making. If you can get over 500 miles on 11 gallons of gasoline, what's wrong here? Do the batteries not do their job?
@straightedge442 What kind of standard do you wish to hold the Prius to? It's still darned fuel efficient. How are these real numbers a gimmick? How is their excellent fuel efficiency misleading? What would make the Prius not a gimmick, to you?
@TheFerruccio The Prius would be less of a gimmick if it used lithium-ion battery technology or exercised a propulsion system that was not around 50 years ago. It's not Toyota's fault at all. Cars could have been switched to electric in the '40s. Think about it. Every locomotive and submarine in World War II production was electric. It would have been easy to apply that to the private, micro-scale. It's a clear indication of how the oil companies manipulated the market.
@straightedge442 Lithium Ion batteries suffer from excessive waste heat when being drained. Locomotives and submarines don't have to be extremely lightweight, having to deal with the input of turns on demand, or emergency braking. Submarines have the advantage of buoyancy, and Locomotives have massive amounts of momentum that is best suited for tracks.
@TheFerruccio So you're saying that because it is slightly more difficult, we could never do it? Like I said, this was feasible in the '40s. The Prius is a cop-out of demonstrating technological, or even moral progress.
@straightedge442 You're putting words in my mouth by assuming that I think we should never do it. Are you saying that people shouldn't get excellent fuel economy, unless the car demonstrates technological or moral progress? What battery technology would be satisfactory to you? Do you think 300 mile range battery powered vehicles that meet today's safety standards were feasible in the 1940s? Where do you draw the line between cop-out and "demonstrates technical or moral progress."?
@straightedge442 You're putting words in my mouth by assuming that I think we should never do it. Where do you draw the line between cop-out and "demonstrates technical or moral progress."?
@straightedge442 Mind you, I love electric power, and it's certainly the future. The Prius is definitely not an EV like a Tesla Roadster or Model S, or a hybrid locomotive-style of power transfer like the Volt, but it is still very fuel efficient, and it is revolutionary in that it has brought such a fuel efficiency to a massive market. I'm a Prius fan in principle, but I can't see myself owning one. I've got to have my performance.
@straightedge442 Seems I didn't get the notification of the reply. No, 15 mph on batteries is not an ample indication of progress. But, that's a straw man argument. That's not how the Prius changed the game. I already explained that in previous replies.
Now that's a real burnout! None of that power braking to get the wheels spinning then let off the brake crap..... Just good ole' nail it and see what it does! GREAT
...I have a daughter and although her booster seat would NEVER make it to my 300C, Im with you on the ride switch. Im a Caddy/GM fanatic like one would EVER imagine...
If you knew anything about electric cars you wouldn'y joke about that. Toyota could easily make a Prius in to one hell of a burnout machine. Electric cars=instant torque with a flat torque curve.
Since when was the Prius an electric car???? The Tesla Roadster is an electric car with a power punch.. Toyota is still in plan mode with their own elecric car..... Prius = Hybrid So Yea, Imma keep the jokes comming
The Prius aint Electric.... badfox is an idiot..... its a hybrid that takes 0-60 in 30 years.... I know how much of a punch an electric car makes... Look at the tesla roadster.... Toyota dont got an electric car only plans.... Both of U owned!!!!
The MT crew has learned that the supercharged V8 slated for use in the next-gen Cadillac CTS-V will be none other than a "detuned" version of the 7.0L LS7 powerplant debuting in the Corvette Blue Devil, or rather, Corvette Z07. The MT editors expect the version used in the CTS-V to produce about 600 horsepower, or around 100 horses short of what the Z07 will produce.
i hope you can buy this engine in crate-form thru GM performance.this engine is very unique for Cadillac.Too bad they cannot get these performance numbers from a blown NorthStar V8.
Price is not official yet, but is expected to be 58k to 64k. The 13 way recaro seats are gonna be the big difference in pricing. Magnetic-selective handling package is expensive too. It's 550 h.p./550 trque too!!
It's not on the street yet! We were given a preliminary showing by the 3 pilot cars at our Cadillac V-Series gathering. These are among the first vids ever taken of it.

But THIS, is just too much too take! The front page has completely lost it's organized, simple layout!
I don't know where you get your ideas, but I think I speak for a big part of the community when I say "YouTube, go **** yourself."
I hate people who ask for thumbs up, but this is not funny. This is serious! Give this a thumbs up and copy/paste it around
