Then my PC died, and my copy of the game got lost in time TT.... So, I never got to finish the game....
I've never seen a modern day game beat this one as of yet. The story was just fabulous in this game. The force unleashed compared to this is just a big pile of shit.

The opening sequence seems to one up the one in episode IV. This blackade runner is on fire, the star destroyer is a super class, and there are not one but seven Sith onboard! Badass!

This was the shit in 1997. Movies, Stromtroopers who could shoot and lightsabers. I DL'd the demo in the winter of '97. 25mb over 28.8k modem, took forver. It was worth it - re-played the demo (Level 9) . Then got a copy of DF that had bonus levels of DF2. I thouyght I could play em' both - but the DF2 demo spoiled me for the older game, so I spent a few months playing levels 1-3 of DF2. Finally got the full game + MotS & still play 1x/year.

@Raziel5 Nahh, they worried about graphics also, they just didn't have the hardware to run what we consider to be good graphics. Back then, you needed a graphics card AND an accelerator card to get really good graphics. DF2 was actually the first game I tried playing on my 3DFx card and the jump in quality was amazing.

@Raziel5 in my opinion dark forces 2 was the greatest single player fps out there. even beating half-life/2 'which had the best multiplayer spin-offs and mods but single player wise never kept me interested'. this was my first fps back in 2000 and nothing has come close to beating it yet.
Maw was actually the easiest of the Dark Jedis t kill - even Yun wasn;t quite that easy. No wonder he has to use trash talk - he must be really good at losing.

so much better the the sequel Jedi Outcast. Even though it looks terrible now, there was something about this game engine that gave it an individual character, compared to JO which used the Quake 3 engine.
@coops1919 Jedi Outcast is better IMO, but let's face it, it cut no new ground like DF2 did. For me, DF2 was the 1st sign of what I could getw/decent graphics & sound. I never played the 1st DF by then, so DF2 was really new The Quake games - Outcast & Academy are just improvements. I think the cutscenes gave it the feel of being in a SW movie. When it comes to Jedi duels however, Outcast just owns DF2. As soon as someone completes a Total Conversion of DF2 to QIII, I'm getting it.
If you want to ever play this game do not install anything past windows XP and start looking very hard in your local second hand game stores weekly. Don't ask me to sell it.. i'll ask £150 minimum.

This game is awesome. My dad would always let me watch him play and whenever he got stuck I would always get him through! Ahh but this is a challenging game. Jedi Outcast and Academy are way easier then this game. I also miss the Live action Scenes.
People usually hate FMV cutscenes, but what I liked about these ones is that they made this feel like a mini-movie instead of 'just another videogame'.
Sure its cheesy, but its fun, and seeing real faces gives the game more 'soul'.
@Draculasquest I thought I was the only one who loved the cutscenes. And to think, they weren't as painful as Jar Jar Binks. I think the dialog worked well. Too bad they used the game engine for the cut scenes in Outcast & Academy.
the reason this resonated was the use of live actors....live actors are real and resonate as something real, which is something Lucas lost sight of a long time ago.
This game was epic because of the story, gameplay, mission layouts and the fact that it was the first Star Wars game to have you play as a random character with a lightsaber + force powers (ones that you could choose to use/level up at the end of every mission).
I would really like a new Jedi Knight game, as long as its not like Force Unleashed. Force Unleashed is O.K, but the story is just too out of place + dumbed down. A new character, defeating Vader + Emperor? Come on. Thats Luke's job.
@filthyassmonkey this cutscene is far before the game, it could be even before battle of Yavin, and in the game Luke can't fight with Jerec because his action was secret and only Katarn knew about this.

I never played the 1st DF by then, so DF2 was really new The Quake games - Outcast & Academy are just improvements. I think the cutscenes gave it the feel of being in a SW movie. When it comes to Jedi duels however, Outcast just owns DF2. As soon as someone completes a Total Conversion of DF2 to QIII, I'm getting it.

If you want to ever play this game do not install anything past windows XP and start looking very hard in your local second hand game stores weekly. Don't ask me to sell it.. i'll ask £150 minimum.

This game is awesome. My dad would always let me watch him play and whenever he got stuck I would always get him through! Ahh but this is a challenging game. Jedi Outcast and Academy are way easier then this game. I also miss the Live action Scenes.

People usually hate FMV cutscenes, but what I liked about these ones is that they made this feel like a mini-movie instead of 'just another videogame'.
Sure its cheesy, but its fun, and seeing real faces gives the game more 'soul'.

This game was epic because of the story, gameplay, mission layouts and the fact that it was the first Star Wars game to have you play as a random character with a lightsaber + force powers (ones that you could choose to use/level up at the end of every mission).
I would really like a new Jedi Knight game, as long as its not like Force Unleashed. Force Unleashed is O.K, but the story is just too out of place + dumbed down. A new character, defeating Vader + Emperor? Come on. Thats Luke's job.

@filthyassmonkey this cutscene is far before the game, it could be even before battle of Yavin, and in the game Luke can't fight with Jerec because his action was secret and only Katarn knew about this.
