Yeah - with no atmosphere, no airship could "fly" there. but on some planets in our system it could be possible (i think), but things like composition of gases in that atmosphere could make helium (or even hydrogen) useles. For some "colony" on distant planet with "normal" atmosphere (you know - oxygen,...) it could be great "civilization starting vehicle"..
When it comes to the hybrid blimping sector, Northrop Grumman and Hybrid Air Vehicles are well ahead of all the other companies, as they won the 517 million dollar LEMV contract for the US Army. Regards JB (Gasbags comedy 3w airship.me)
these airships could have a practical use on other planets or moons even. if such living quarters could be created outside the confines of earth, it could create a failsafe if something like nuclear war or any given global catastrophe. airships on our moon even, where vast supplies could be stored and academic and scientific communities could be created and maintained for generations. i hope this isnt just some fake scifi news story, but atleast its spawned some imaginative thought.
@wrylie188 of course i didnt mean zeppelins i meant a specifically designed 'airship' but in the moon's case it would probably be better defined as a satellite or space station (use imagination and logic). but yeah appreciate your insight you must know everything.
@standalonesolid If you had spent the time to research, you would know that an airship is a "Lighter than air vehicle with a means of propulsion." Seeing as there is no air on the moon, Airships couldn't operate. I was trying to be polite, don't be a jerk back. P.S. A zeppelin is just an airship with a rigid hull.

It's amazing how the Russian language sounds exactly like playing a record backwards.

@standalonesolid Ahem: Moon has no atmosphere, therefore airships cannot operate on them.

Dear All,
I have some question about psychology:
(1) Why do we love flying?
(2) Why do we want to design new airship in this "jet-age"?
(3) What is the enjoyment to fly airships comparing with aeroplanes?
(4) Why do we like to draw beautiful plantings on airships?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)
