What I remember most about those days is that we were all actually EXCITED about wrestling. I was in elementary school at the time (probably 4th grade), and I remember coming to school every Tuesday and Friday and talking to the other kids about "what happened last night on wrestling". I was a diehard fan of WCW from about 1993 or 1994 until 2000. I watched WCW and WWF 1997-1999, but I eventually jumped ship after the WCW logo change and AOL buyout. And after 2005, I couldn't stand WWE .

With it's awesome blue/black/silver colour scheme, flashing "thunder" arena effects, and cool theme music, WCW Thunder was the best looking wrestling show of all time IMO. I mean look at how great the "lightning bolt" effect looks when "Birmingham, Alabama" and the names of the announcers flashes on screen.

Thats Funny Smackdown was a rip off of Thunder. WWF did the same thing WCW did to them when Nitro competed with Raw. Thunder was a cool show and I'd give them the Edge for being different and creative with how the show looks especially when sting or bret hart did their promos and they would cut the lights down and do the flash effects like it was lighting with sound effects. Gotta hand it to the WCW camp they were creative.

They were indeed creative but not for long enough. A few months of good Thunder episodes quickly turned into a dreadful weekly show. It was like the 'WWECW' of it's day.

Jobbers and new kids. Smackdown on the other hand was on par with it's Monday WWF counterpart; WWF Raw.
