What's better the Glock 20 or the Glock 20C? It looks like Glock is not making the 20C in the 4th Gen. Are there any con's in having the Glock 20C over the Glock 20?
Good video... I notice the beastly 10mm messes with your camcorder's mic, can you damage the mic or make it record quietly like after the shots permanently?
Nice video - I've been contemplating picking up a Glock 20 myself. Recoil doesnt look that bad, and I know you said the Glock absorbs most of it - I'm used to .40 S&W personally, how would you say the 10mm compares to that in terms of recoil ? Is it similar, or a lot more ? Thanks, man. Happy shootin
@armyofheaven777 Don't let the recoil thing scare you away from buying one. I shoot 10 and 40. The 10 is obviously more recoil than the 40. Plus you can always add a stronger recoil spring if you want to. Oh yeah, don't let what other people say scare you away from it either.
@ericspinball - I carry all the time, usually I open carry since thats still legal in my state. I will probably go with the 20, I like full sized pistols, my hands are too big for the smaller ones, plus I like to have as many rounds available as possible.
@armyofheaven777 I'm with ya there. More rounds the better. If open then it doesn't really matter if its bigger. I have the option to do both here in MN but like the G20 under the shoulder in the winter.
The best gun Glock offers point blank. And for those who are hesitant about the 10mm, it is very manageable even in the hottest loads offered. The only downside is the cost of ammo; pretty much on par in cost with .357 SIG which is very pricey for what it is.
Bought a Glock 20 a month ago. When I was filling out the warrantee registration card there was a question on why I bought a Glock. Instead of checking the box next to reliability, or accuracy, I made my own box. It read: 'Youtube...Hickok45'. Thanks Hickok
I hate it when people ask which Glock is better? Better for what shooting yourself in the dick? Concealed carry?defense against bears? Be more specific!
Hickok: I purchased a Glock 20C. But, I've read that the compensated barrel causes noticeable loss in velocity/stopping power. And, I've read other comments stating that its negligible. I ordered a lwd 6" barrel ( Appalachian trail companion GA cwp in September), will this solve the loss in power problem, since the barrel is not ported. Thanks.
Look on Hickok45's channel videos for recoil comparison. It may help you. But for 10mm handguns, Glock 20 is known to be a soft shooter (comparatively).
I've never fired a pistol before, only a 12 gauge and a .22 rifle, but is the slide supposed to move forward slowly after a shot and make that clicking noise? I'm planning on purchasing a glock 20 in a couple of months, and I just wanted to know.
Well, technically, the 10mm cartridge is more powerful than the .40S&W round. They're both great handguns. If it's easier for you to control the 22, then you should go with the 22, if the 20 isn't that bad for you, then maybe you should go with that. But really, either way you can't go wrong.
@SunshineBayou10mm, Nobody would know that; besides, it's virtually impossible for that to be the case. Somebody would have to put about 100 of each in Ransom Rests and do extensive tests to even begin to talkd about such a thing. As I point out in my "Accuracy" video, hardly ANYBODY can tell any real difference just standing and shooting. I know I can't. They are all WAY more accurate than we are.

@A11Ab0utU5 Are you talking about this gun? If so it's not a G18, G18 is the Glock Model 18 chambered in 9mm which has a option on semi-auto to full auto. 10mm Auto is the name of the cartridge as is the .45acp auto, and 10mm is a waay stronger round than the 9mm.
@massefeect18 yea a pistol to get for home protection. Most people just get shotguns but if you were lookin for a hand gun what would be the best. Alot of people like 45s idk. Just something you can count on to not jam and get the job done.
@hickok45 it happened to me a couple times within just a few hundred rounds of shooting... i got the wrong glock with the wrong ammo... i will never again use wide mouth hollow points for my glock for personal protection... i plan on using up my JAMMING AMMO when i shoot... i was surprised... i also had to send my glock 36 back to the factory for them to fix the safety trigger, it would stick a bit... maybe the 36 is known to have the most problems of all glocks, as i've read... its unique...
@adamclark94 At the range you'd need to be for it to go clear through somebody, you would probably have to be a very bad shot or by sheer luck for the bullet not to hit any vital organs. If all else fails, buy hollowpoints. Plus, I don't think anybody would need this pistol for any application other than home defense, and if the bullet doesn't kill, that'd be best for the perpetrator and the shooter since lethal force is frowned upon and could get you some unwanted prison time.
@dkmd5353 i have a glock 36, it jammed due to a wide mouth hollow point, which is why i now have it loaded withcorbon powerballs... this is a hollow point with a ball at the tip which helps the hollow point feed like a full metal jacket... if you shoot limp wristed an auto is also more likely to jam as the slide doesn't have a full straight line of return... the 36 is unique, its made to have a more sharply angled ramp for the bullet to slide into the barrel, THUS i would watch out with HPs...
@chipandbenjiskate Some people don't like guns, and think because they don't like them, everyone should not like them, or even be allowed to have them. Silly liberals!

@ChrisONGuitar1 Auto means Auto Loading which it is indeed an Autoloading gun and the cartridge was designed for an autoloading gun. Auto does not mean Automatic :)
357 magnum 125 gr. JHC (1700 fps ME 802 ft lbs.) from buffalo bore. Hottest 10mm ammo i could find(doubletap, corbon, and buffalo bore) didnt even break 800 ft lbs.
ahh this is exactly what i asked for :D great video, should hav emy glock 20 in a couple of days, already have my lone wolf barrel, looks easy enough to replace, THANKS HICKOK !!
@MrDarksuperman123 With the slide back, the barrel is angled slightly upwards. When the slide moves forward, the barrel is rotated back down and locked into place by a lug on the underside that engages a locking block in the frame. The barrel itself isn't bent, just appears that way when the slide is back.
@MXhm91 , I don't know the definition of "crappy" gun. Most of them work pretty well. I can't think of any gun right off hand that would not penetrate a water jug, unless it would be a BB gun maybe. :-)
you said in the discription that the 10mm is glock's most powerful offerring. but they make a conversion slide and barrel for the .50 GI cartridge now
The .50 GI cartridge is in fact, a terrible gimmick cartridge. It's simply Guncrafter Industries, trying to find new ways of making more money. Performance wise, it's identical to that of the .45 ACP caliber. 10mm, surpasses both in velocity and ft·lbf.
@Leit0 That isn't full auto, it's semi auto with rapid trigger manipulation. Allowing the trigger to come forward just enough to reset, then breaking it again as the front sight tracks back to the target following recoil.
@TheSoundBarrier , Only when I'm shooting those 230 grain cast lead Double Taps. That particular bullet does not shoot well out of the stock Glock barrel. It's a pretty extreme bullet for a Glock - 230 grain lead bullet. Would be great bear medicine, though, if it were needed. :-)
@hickok45 A lot of us Canadians would love to have the freedom you guys have and we are trying to fight for it w ww.canadacarry. org one day we will one day BTW i really like your videos
Oh, wow, look how much you have it made,there, Hickok. Lounging in a folding chair, popping off 10mm"s for the whole world to see. I think you live at least as good as Ted Nugent does, and you're younger than him to boot!
@Biggp279 its all in the case size and the bullet weights with the 10mm! a 9mm will fire a 115g bullet at somewhere around (depending on the load) 1200-1300 fps where as a 10mm can drive a 200g bullet at around the same velocity which allows the 10mm to carry some serious energy over 9mm.
Some good shooting.

y r the glock barrels bent
MrDarksuperman123 1 year ago
@MrDarksuperman123 With the slide back, the barrel is angled slightly upwards. When the slide moves forward, the barrel is rotated back down and locked into place by a lug on the underside that engages a locking block in the frame. The barrel itself isn't bent, just appears that way when the slide is back.

a gun that doesnt penetrate a water jug must be one crappy gun
MXhm91 1 year ago
@MXhm91 , I don't know the definition of "crappy" gun. Most of them work pretty well. I can't think of any gun right off hand that would not penetrate a water jug, unless it would be a BB gun maybe. :-)
hickok45 1 year ago 4
@hickok45 I'm pretty sure my Daisy pellet gun would still penetrate that water jug.

I'm starting to think that Hickok likes the Glocks.... ;)
Taquin1977 1 year ago
you said in the discription that the 10mm is glock's most powerful offerring. but they make a conversion slide and barrel for the .50 GI cartridge now
glockamasta 1 year ago
@glockamasta But GLOCK doesn't make it, it's after-market.
SporadicallySane 1 year ago
@SporadicallySane true true
glockamasta 1 year ago
@glockamasta
The .50 GI cartridge is in fact, a terrible gimmick cartridge. It's simply Guncrafter Industries, trying to find new ways of making more money. Performance wise, it's identical to that of the .45 ACP caliber. 10mm, surpasses both in velocity and ft·lbf.

have you reviewed any of the 357sig glocks?

i love when you do fullauto with your close ups, never cease to do that :D
Leit0 1 year ago
@Leit0 That isn't full auto, it's semi auto with rapid trigger manipulation. Allowing the trigger to come forward just enough to reset, then breaking it again as the front sight tracks back to the target following recoil.
silvermediastudio 1 year ago
so this things more powerful than a .357?
ibanezkid07 1 year ago
@ibanezkid07
They're about the same, performance wise. Which is great.
BlowhobPeenad 1 year ago
@ibanezkid07 A full-load 10mm is bit more powerful than a .357 Magnum, and leaves a bigger hole too.

Thee Glock 20 has been my concealed carry weapon since I was 18. This is a GREAT weapon!!!

Hey Hickok, I thought you swore by the Lone Wolf barrel for your 20. What's up?
TheSoundBarrier 1 year ago
@TheSoundBarrier , Only when I'm shooting those 230 grain cast lead Double Taps. That particular bullet does not shoot well out of the stock Glock barrel. It's a pretty extreme bullet for a Glock - 230 grain lead bullet. Would be great bear medicine, though, if it were needed. :-)

@hickok45 I hope you don't think that most Canadian's are like that!
P.S. As someone who is currently waiting to receive their firearms license, these videos hurt so much to watch (in a good way)

Oh, wow, look how much you have it made,there, Hickok. Lounging in a folding chair, popping off 10mm"s for the whole world to see. I think you live at least as good as Ted Nugent does, and you're younger than him to boot!

@hickok45 hey dont put us all in that barrel mr hickok! However I do love the Gun laws in Tennesee.

chainlink1 1 year ago
another great video hickok.....can you explain why a 10mm is so powerful and yet its only 1mm different in name than a 9mm?
Biggp279 1 year ago
@Biggp279 it has much more energy than a 9mm. about 300 ft lbs i believe on average.
CaptainKill1124 1 year ago
@Biggp279 its all in the case size and the bullet weights with the 10mm! a 9mm will fire a 115g bullet at somewhere around (depending on the load) 1200-1300 fps where as a 10mm can drive a 200g bullet at around the same velocity which allows the 10mm to carry some serious energy over 9mm.
