@rogerhrabbit They were speaking in French. BTW, Only 2% of Iranians speak Arabic. Their primary language is Persian, AKA Farsi. The violence and repression comes from their religious right. The majority of the people are no different than us, and want the same things as us. Don't judge them by their extremist elements. I wouldn't want them to judge us by the antics of the religious right in America.

@elfcounsul BS. The extremist element in power was a product of a popular revolution by the people. Many Iranians now are against it - sure. But it also takes a sizable amount of the population for them to remain in power. The revolutionary guard and other oppressive elements are made up of everyday people believe it or not. Iran is not a moderate progressive society held captive by an extremist regime. It is an entire country brainwashed an held captive by the oppressive tenants of Islam.
