Of course we could pick apart the poor robot's performance, but isn't it amazing that this is possible?? He's better than I was when I started. Imagine how good he'll be with practice. LOL
Its cool to watch. Obviously its going to lack the finesse of a trained played or even a highly talented amateur one, just the same was as a live performance with have more energy and charge than the recording of the same group. Robots will never be able to replace artists, musicians, thespians or authors... so just relax and enjoy something a little different. =)
C'mon guys, seriously...we don't need to be pretentious musicians while listening and watching this. I think this video is hilarious. Everyone is overanalyzing it. "Well, personally, I didn't think the robot's phrasing was suffient enough for this piece...ummm, uhhhh, I think the robot need to relax it's bottom lip a little more to produce more vibration from it's lip assisting its sound." I had fun while watching this, no doubt.
hmm i just have 1 question from a low d to a middle e how does it hit those because thats the point in which your breathing technique has to change to hit those notes? And from the middle e to high F it changes too.
I thought it was pretty cool. But it doesn't have the same effect as when a person plays it. I've heard a bunch of flute players perform Flight of the Bumblebee, and they seemed so....... into the song. Maybe I just wish I could play my flute like that......

first off that intonation sux butt, you should not have a robot floutist... there is no need, this is what makes instrumentalists lose theri jobs

So... it has a professional flute with a regular C foot. Do they have a robot that can play piccolo or bass flute?

It would have been better if the flute was in tune with the music. Pull out the headjoint a bit to get the pitch lower. Way too sharp!
