hey i have apply all ur setting but it take's too much render time...is there anyway to decrees the render time...?or can i use convert to file texture is this also gonna work...?
Great tutorial. Please make more! As far as the last mia material used on the backdrop, you could probably decrease the glossiness and reflections of the mate plastic without touching the lights.
You're probably better of faking global illumination by connecting an ambient occlusion node to the ambient input of the shader and fake the indirect lighting with a couple of well placed area lights.
You should use raytracing with a great deal of hesitation. If it can be faked you should probably do that instead.
It was great stuff with the white plane behind the spots though :)
It's a very solid computer that handles a lot. I'd advise that you be wary with a purchase of a mac if you intend primary use to be Maya. Unless you use Bootcamp for Windows 7 64-bit or Windows Vista 64-bit. Because there isn't 64-bit mac support yet plus the interface has a few bugs.
is that a hairdryer in the background or your CPU fan? lol

Seriously 21 minutes is way too long!
