@leoclay1 Love her! And so many other actresses as well. The clips on this video were taken from the films that I have on dvds, so unfortunately I didn't have more footage to include other people.
This video simply blows me away! an absolutely stunning tribute to some of the most talented actresses of all time!
I like all of them, but Meryl Streep, Vivien Leigh. Emma Thompson, Katharine Hepburn, Shirley MacLaine and Jennifer Ehle are among my favourites! But all the ladies you chose for your video are in a class of their own!
Thank you very much for watching my tribute, I appreciate the encouragement. :) It's interesting to me that it often happens that people who like one of these actresses also likes many of the others too. It seems to be some sort of a chain!
Thank you! Oy vey, it's going to be a looong list. Let's see. ;) The French Lieutenant's Woman (Meryl Streep) The Letter (Bette Davis) Roman Holiday (Audrey Hepburn) Kramer vs. Kramer (Meryl Streep) Now, Voyager (Bette Davis) Elizabeth I (mini series, Helen Mirren) Funny Girl (Barbra Streisand) Jezebel (Bette Davis) Dead Man Walking (Susan Sarandon) Gone With The Wind (Vivien Leigh) Victor/Victoria (Julie Andrews) Prime Suspect (tv series, Helen Mirren) Out Of Africa (Meryl Streep)
The Deer Hunter (Meryl Streep) What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? (Bette Davis) Sunset Blvd. (Gloria Swanson) Moulin Rouge! (Nicole Kidman) Plenty (Meryl Streep) Darling Lili (Julie Andrews) Heartburn (Meryl Streep) Pride And Prejudice (BBC series, Jennifer Ehle, Colin Firth) Dark Victory (Bette Davis) The Bridges Of Madison County (Meryl Streep) An Affair To Remember (Deborah Kerr) Sophie's Choice (Meryl Streep) The Apartment (Shirley MacLaine) On Golden Pond (Katharine Hepburn)
The Sound Of Music (Julie Andrews) All About Eve (Bette Davis) The Philadephia Story (Katharine Hepburn) The Devil Wears Prada (Meryl Streep) The Hours (Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore) Sense And Sensibility (Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet) Breakfast At Tiffany's (Audrey Hepburn) Silkwood (Meryl Streep) Educating Rita (Julie Walters) Victor/Victoria (Broadway version,Julie Andrews) Mr. Skeffington (Bette Davis) The Little Foxes (Bette Davis) Annie Hall (Diane Keaton,Woody Allen)
Ok now I see you love Vivien Leigh too. I coincide with you with many actresses: Katherine Hepburn, Julie Andrews, Emma Thompson...
This video is amazing. Wonderful. Very well know. You do know how to combine the music with the scenes, the flashes and everything. What programme did you use? This is sooooo neat and well done. And the quality of the pictures is incredible even for the old movies.
Thank you, Gemma! Ah there were so many more actresses I wanted to include, but unfortunately I didn't have their films on dvds so I couldn't get any clips. Maybe next time....hmmm.
I used iMovie to edit this. It took me ages to get all the clips there as it tends to take forever to import anything larger than 40mb there for some reason. But I guess patience is sometimes needed with such projects lol. Thank you for the nice comments on the editing. It was the song and the films that inspired me.
Oh WOW! Your film shows such wonderful emotion! You have real editing talent! I adore Bette Davis and am just descovering Meryl Streep's films! You have really inspired me to watch more films with these wonderful actresses! Thank you so much! :)
Thank you so much for the nice comment. I appreciate it, as this video in particular is very dear to my heart. I'm very happy to hear that watching my video might have made you want to see more of these actresses' work. That's so great. :)
For Meryl's films, I'd recommend Sophie's Choice, The Hours, Out of Africa, The French Lieutenant's Woman, Kramer vs. Kramer (though there's very little of her in that one)...and so many more. If you'd like some tips, I'd be more than happy to help. :)
Oh My God this video is fascinating and amazing. My favourite actresses are Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren, Susan Sarandon and Bette Davis. Thank you to share it with us. By the way, last year I saw Meryl Streep in Spain. Oh My god ...
Thank you so much! We share many of the same favourites then. ;) I saw Meryl this summer too. She had this very special positive aura floating around her, it was fascinating to witness. Thank you for watching my video, all the comments are very much appreciated!
Oh you´ve seen Meryl Streep ... oh My God, this is wonderful for you. She´s the best actress in the world. For me her movies and songs are my therapy in my life.
I really loved this video! So much Meryl Streep in there to make anyone happy. Also loved the Barbra Steisand clips, i love Funny Girl, another favourite of mine with her in it is Hello Dolly, i love that movie :D
Thank you for your nice comment! I haven't seen Hello Dolly yet but I hope I can watch it soon (I've heard so much good things about it). Funny Girl is one of my favourite films, though. Barbra is so good in it. :)
Oh my God, I love this video. It is simply unbelievable. I find the Black/white Efekt wonderful. Simply indescribably. One the best fan videos I has ever seen. I love Meryl Streep and this video too.
It's written in the very beginning of the video, if you click play again. I don't want to get in trouble with YouTube, so I'm not going to write it again here (they almost deleted this video when I uploaded it). If you like the song, please check out more music by this amazing band. ;)
Thanks so much for your nice comment! It made me feel a little better about posting my video here, even more so because I've just seen that someone copied my whole idea and even my editing to their own video for this same song...A little discouraging because this was such a personal project for me which took ages to make. :( Oh yes, I just adore BBC's Pride and Prejudice, so Jennifer was a must (is it just me, or does she look a little like Meryl in Out of Africa?!). ;)
It's only natural that people might use the same song for videos, and I enjoy seeing how variable interpretations people might have for the same song. But I was not pleased that you used similar clips (e.g. people turning their head/running) at exactly the same moments as I did and even edited them with the same transitions so that they matched these certain beats in the song I wanted them to match. Borrowing an idea to create something of your own is one thing but plain copying totally another.
WOW! I don't even know what to say. Your video is beyond amazing. The music and clips are prefect. My new # 1. And all the actresses you used are either legends are Goddess. Your clips of Meryl and Bette, sigh! 5 stars all the way. Well done and BRAVA! Hope to see more from you.
Wow! I'm really overwhelmed by all the lovely comments. Thank you all so much for watching my little tribute! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, because I really loved making it. YouTube is being a pain and has somehow restricted the video so that it's not viewable for everyone, but I'm glad quite a few of you seemed to be able to view it okay. Thank you once again for commenting! :)
This video has left me speechless. Oh my god. The editing is sublime. Especially with the shots of Betty Davis screaming and Meryl being shaken by the dude from Plenty. And I love Elizabeth I footage, and Julie Andrews... god. Victor/Victoria and Darling Lily. Brilliant. And I loved how strong you made these women look. You have the same taste in movies as me. It's insane. :) I LOVE it.Such strong women.
