  • lol it still sucks :P

But good job changing it, looked hard :X

  • "if you decide to do this mod, you can contact my for an better BIOS version, the latest on the 3610 is the 1.09, i got unofficialy an specialy perfect working newer BIOS version from ACER wich was poorly never published for all"

Just ordered a m750 to put in my dads 3610 it it has the Celery 1.5 400mhz now, specs for the pent m are 1.86 GHz 2MB 533MHz SL7S9. Bother you for the bios if you still have? Thanks, gE

  • guys and maybe girls, you have ti take the special setfsb for Vaio VGN-FS115 Ultra Version 1.5a1

only this one is working !!!!

so and now happy overclocking :D

  • ramiretz, you are god! i have no idea how did you figure it but its working.

and goodoldjam, you were right, i tried oc it more than 2.2ghz and it crashed. I think thats FSB or PCI/PCI-e thing, not the CPU. Well, it was never a good lap, its acer after all.

You both helped me, so big thanks.

  • So, maybe its time to buy some M770 or M880 to get all of this acer, but im sure that's urgent just to change the lap.

My GF gave it to me so i could make a live music performance on it (with e-mu 0404 usb) but it's getting underruns, so.. maybe new lap soon. regards

  • hi

any chances to oc fsb to 533 by software?

  • yes ;)

    with setfsb ;)

  • well, that was first application i tried to do it with. First i tried to find my chipset on the website's list, it wasn't there.

Now i got SetFSB 2.2.129.95 and there's that list 'clock generator', what i should choose? Aspire 3610, bios is v1.13. I assume that all 3610's got i915GMS/i910GML.

    Please help.

  • I could never overclock on my 915 desktop with software, there's no way to lock the pci and pci-e frequency's. They all go up together as you raise the fsb so things begin to stop funtioning like the video and harddrive. You can only get a small overclock. What pentium M are you using? if your using a M with a 400mhz fsb you could just pinmod to 533.

  • hey, i got Celeron M 380, just pinmoded it to 533 (2.1Ghz proc) like you said. I want to try oc it more, i never changed voltage and 45 celsius in max stress.. But lot of people talks about SetFSB possibility in 3610 on boards. And i cant find this clock generator thing

  • Theres a acer aspire 3614 listed on setfsb site, thats probably the same thing. When i did it I looked at the pll number on the chip, the little metallic oblong chip. I believe it's next to the processor the number is printed on it.. Only way i could overclock my M was to boot at set frequency's, like 100,133 or 200. . If want a boost You could also buy a pentium m with a 400mhz fsb and pin mod that, i seen a couple used 735s on ebay for $15.

  • Actually i could overclock a little with setfsb, but like 15-20mhz over what i booted at. So i guess you could squeeze out 200mhz or more.

  • maybe the chipset wont let you use a fsb of 533 ?? check with the software CPU-Z ant tell us please

  • you can !!! without any problms :)

  • I dit it! I found an M760 CPU from an old Acer TravelMate 8104.

I replaced for my original Celeron M 1.6 Ghz for it.

It fits perfectly and it's working nicely.

I have not noticed any change in temperature or something.

Except for one thing, i cannot make it run over 1.5Ghz!!!

After I installed i noticed that and then made a BIOS upgrade on my Acer Aspire 3624 from version 1.04 to 1.06.

But it's still running at 1.5Ghz Max no matter what i do...

    Please help!!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello again

I tried installing Acer's EPowerManagement to force it run over 1.5Ghz but it did'nt worked.

I also tried running Ubuntu 9.04 but it also don't go beyond 1.5Ghz...

The funny thing is that both of the OS and the BIOS recognize the CPU as being a

    M760 2Ghz...

    Thanks again.

  • Hello does change to m740 require pin mod? Does i910gml changed fsb on its own, or did you had to change voltage using wire between two pins?

  • nothing !!!

    simple cpu change

the 910gml can handle the cpu without any problem

you didnt need to do any pin mod
