To those who think that he reads wrong and he was sent to jail for this, I have found out that he does miss one of the conditions (shroot) of reciting the Quran but that does not make it wrong and it is okay to read like that. I got to know this from a Shaikh who can recite the Quran in ten different ways or dilects, including Hafs and Warsh in which Qari Antar recites mostly. So there isn't anything wrong with his recitation. Peace!

I wouldnt say he read wrong and i dont know where people get this information from regardin him being locked up for it but I can say this much that he does Waqf a little too ofter otherwise he was the daddy of most reciters

His "crime" was mixing the qira'aat: taking rules / parts from one and mixing directly into another (think maddu badal from Warsh alongside Hamzah's saktas).

Each of the qira'aat is traceable to Rasulullah (saws), so they're not wrong, but mixing them.... it angered people because Qur'an is _ALWAYS_ transmitted as a whole.

He recanted, though, and alhamdulillah was freed.

Abdelbaset did something similar in Surat Yusuf once and was reprimanded. He also apologized; never did it again.

c'est un des meilleurs reciteurs du saint coran , à force de l'écouter on apprend le coran avec les bonnes manières . que dieu lui reserve tout le bien dans la vie eternelle

i love this reciter,i grew up listening to tthis reciter.

it was amazing that in egypt,they didnt want him to read,because he would always read from warsh,then read hafs.

i still loved him.
