  • Hey George! I know it's you!! come on george, xD

  • alright, thanks. rock on!

  • hey, buddy! you rock! how much is that guitar? id love to get my hands one one!

  • @MrMattnethan Somewhere in the 3-4K range retail.

  • @BuddyClontz alright, thanks. keep rocking!

  • absolutely awesome man love your covers!

  • You play very nicely; check the completely different figure GH plays on all the harmony vocal verses (as opposed to the intro. and solo verse vocal) to compliment those different notes. Thanks for posting.

  • love the sound of that ric 12 string in classic stuff great job a hofner bass player here

  • The feedback is a bit grating, maybe invest in a better mic or have your amp looked at, but this was spot-on. Great cover.

  • I stand totally corrected Buddy, you did a good job on that, I just learned it differently, and never did see george use a capo, which he did in japan on this tune when beatles were there...and also the information i had on the capo invention was another apparently internet mis-info...my apologies...damn i hate being wrong, lol

  • @MrBruceBarham I may not be the best player, but I do have a good ear. I trust what I hear which is why I play the way I do however unorthodoxed my technique may be.

  • Well Buddy you did good, but this is erroneous, For one the use of the capo causes the fingering to fail to the pattern George used. The capo wasnt released til 1971, and If I needed Someone was released in 1965. George played it in an fingering position, #1 on 7th fret d string, #2 8th fret B string and #39th fret G string, leaving pinky free which enabled the harmony line to be followed when the chord changed to an Eminor, the pinky could catch the F#, i.e. 11th fret G string, .E droned.

  • Awesome once more. Watching guys like you, make some of us want to play the guitar ourselves. It looks effortless, so simple, but the practice I can only imagine.

  • @MacIain82 Thanks!

  • that tone!

    great job

  • BuddyClontz, Thank you for your insight in regards to the toasters. It further solidifies my intention to change over to the vintage pickups. Cheers!

  • I have been trying and trying to learn this song. Now, thanks to your upload I can actually see the fingering. You've done a fantastic job and I am in awe! I'm curious, do you hear a big difference between the vintage pickups and the modern, high output ones sound wise? My 360/12 has the newer pickups and I'm considering changing them over to the vintage ones. Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

  • @the1songwriter Thanks! I personally changed the pickups out on two of my Ricxkenbackers and in fact the guitar in the video is the guitar I changed them out in first. It took about an hour to do the change out and soldering, etc. To me the difference is subtle but there is a very distinct difference between the high output pickup and the Vintage Toasters. I prefer the Vintage Toasters myself.

  • Hey man you have great covers!!! You did a magnificent job and also, where did you get your Rickenbacker Guitars?

  • @kepi795 Thanks! I bought the Ricks from Dealers and individuals.

  • @TasOMW That's the way it was done originally...

  • This 12stirng guitar sound is really beautiful!

    Thank you for uproad.

  • Sounds awesome! My favorite version is by the rickenbacker master himself...McGuinn!

  • you are a legend, that was unbeliev

    able, take a bow son.

  • awesome cover! love the rubber soul sessions

  • Great cover, I hope to hear your music too.

    Keep on rocking!

  • Very very good performance!!!

you use the same Rickenbacker as George on the 1966-Tour.

last thursday I was in Cologne to visit Sir Paul in concert, was great!

    best regards from Thorsten/Germany

  • Thank you for the kind words! Lucky you...to see Paul McCartney. I have been fortunate enough to see him play two times and it was awesome both times. I hope to see him perform again. He is a musical genius. -BC

  • You have given me a lot of joy, watcthing and listening. I have always wanted to play a 12 string Rick since I was a kid, but Dupuytren's Disease has FUBAR'd my hands to where I can no longer play a guitar. You are truely blessed, my friend. God has given you many gifts and talents. THANKS for the joy that you unselfishly have SPREAD.

    GF in Ohio

  • Thanks! I like to play and share music which I consider a gift to us all. Speaking of hands, my hands are in bad shape these days also so I don't play as much or as well as I once did. I have tendon problems and "trigger finger" which is a real pain when you are tying to play guitar...but I do the best I can with what is left of me...LOL

  • thanks for posting this. I have a Ric clone & dig this song. Do you tab it yourself? Just wondering...

  • I don't use tab. I play everything by ear.

  • Great cover

    5**********

    Love it

    Terry

  • Thanks Terry! -BC

  • well done sir! flawless. wow there really is a unique sound to that 12 string george played in 64-66.

  • Thank You! -BC

  • If you agree that Rickenbackers are better than Fenders, give me a thumbs up.

  • I like them both...and each has its unique place. Both are well made...but the Rickenbacker has a fit and finish that will rival and in some cases put to shame most custom shop models. -BC

  • I personally think that Rickenbackers just have a certain distinction. They have a rich sound and unique designs.

  • I agree and I like them. I own four Rics...but I also own four Fenders...LOL -BC

  • @gullwing14

I'd say that Rickenbackers are different than Fenders. I am glad George chose Rickenbacker where (for example) Jimi chose Fender, where would we be without them. Kind regards

  • @boasdubbelman I like Rics and Fenders both personally. They each have their own strenghts.

  • Nice playing and guitar!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • WOW! Excellent! I don't suppose you have that tab you could share, do yo?

  • Thanks! I play by ear so I don't have any written music or Tabs. I'm sure there is probably a source for that out the somewhere...but I always go with what I hear from the recordings...then I try to more or less duplicate the sound, phrasing, and solos as I hear them. -BC

  • Once again as usual a GREAT job Buddy...I'm dusting off my lefty Hofner 500/1 right now and brushing up on my Beatle tunes. Would love to jam with someone with your capability. If you ever decide you want to just let me know.....in the mean time I'll just watch and enjoy listening to you play....keep on rockin!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • i'd take lessons from ya. Great job! 8-)

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Terrific job, Buddy! Great sound from that Rick 360/12! What kind of compression did you use - a JangleBox?

  • Thanks! Actually I've never tried a Jangle Box...although I hear they are good. I used a preset that I tweeked on a Yamaha DG Stomp. -BC

  • I'm a huge Harrison fan, I hear the criticism of him. You are accomplished, how would you rate Harrison as a musician, guitarist, and composer?

  • In my opinion if someone is criticizing George Harrison's musical ability or songwriting ability, they are musically retarded. I think George was a far better guitarist and songwriter than he was ever given credit for. He was exceptionally good at determining just what a song needed in terms of emotion and phrasing from his instrument and didn't worry about showing off. There is no doubt that the Beatles would not be the same without him. -BC

  • You got that right my friend.

  • I concur.

  • very good cover!

have you ever thought of a cover from "words of love", or a guitar lesson?

  • Thanks! I may do some lessons eventually. -BC

  • words of love is a typical buddy song, the riff is on the top two strings, like the same sort of scales as his other classics like heart beat and indeed the same sort of scales as chuck berrys sweet little sixteen riff,

  • one of my favorite beatles songs ever.

excellant job buddy.been watchin most of your vids.

    all excellant.

bet you were a hippy back in the day.

    ha,ha.

  • de los mejores que he escuchado, exelente trabajo, felicidades desde México

  • Thank You! -BC

  • Nice job. Its sounds just like the original.

You used the same type of guitar.

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Awesome! Sounds like George :D

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Good job! Love the Ric and always good to find other guitarists who play strictly by ear. Excellent!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • super!!!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Your voicings are often not accurate. For instance, you overuse the seventh chord position here. If you listen to the Beatles' recording of this song, it is not always using a seventh, as you are.

  • If you have paid attention to what I have written...you will notice that I explain to people that ask...that I play by ear and sometimes I do not try to replicate a performance note for note...however, usually I am able to do that if I choose to. Thanks for listening. -BC

  • great playing!

  • Thank you! -BC

  • Wow! You again! Great guitar work!. just like the original...wow wow

  • Thank you. -BC

  • Real Rickenbacker 12 str.'s sound.

    Very brite and nice.

    I have not the same.

  • Thanks! -BC

  • That's George spirit floating around!

  • wonderful!:)

  • THanks! -BC

  • wonderful!:)

  • Thanks! Actually I have already covered that one. -BC

  • I mean we both play at the same time like george and john

  • Are you asking me to use one of my video clips to make a video with? I am not quite sure of what you are asking here. Just let me know. Thanks for watching! -BC

  • Ill play rhythmm with my rickenbacker 355JL ud play lead with one of your guitars and we put the video together as if i was john you were george

  • Go ahead and make the video and I'll see what I can do when I get a chance. I am going to have an operation on my hand very soon...so I may be out of commision for a month or so very soon. -BC

  • Wow.!

This is one of the greatest guitar covers that I have seen.!

    Bravo.!

    Keep up the great work.

  • Thanks! -BC

  • nice!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • BRAVO! I'll trade ya my Double-Neck for that one!! I mean, think about it...it'll be like getting 2 guitars for one! :D LOL!!! Just kidding. Nicely done. About the only thing you and I do differently on this is that I play it in D natural for the most part while you are in D7. Great job! LC

  • Thank you for your kind words! -BC

  • you have a talent i am from england the only thing you need to do tone it down it is to harsh its vexatios to the sole tone it down it has to be mellow thank you david

  • One of my favorites....esp with the right guitar. Nice job!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • hi buddy, you're very good!

sorry, but i'm italian and i don't speack very well!

  • Thank You! -BC

  • wow your appearance resembles eric clapton as well as guitar skill :)

  • Thanks! Clapton is the man on the guitar for sure! -BC

  • wow your appearance resembles eric clapton as well as guitar skill :)

  • How much are those guitars? And where can I get one?

  • You'll have to search for a dealer and then wait about 18 months after you place your order unless they have what you are looking for in stock. The price on a 360-12VP like mine runs in the $2200-$2500 or more range new. -BC

  • isnt that the guitar that george had

  • Yes, very similar. His was the 2nd. one made. -BC

  • sorry, but could you do some bowie stuff?''maybe so''is not good answer

  • Possibly...I like a lot of Bowie's early stuff and I might do a cover or two of his music eventually. Thanks for watching! -BC

  • Hi Buddy

    Cool Ric,but too expensive.I bought Danelectro 12 string.Not so cool looking,but same sound!Believe me!great guitaar it is!

Could you do,by any change, some Bowie and later beatle stuff?Or paly some solo guitar and iffs with that?

I really like your vids, but one thing that is ennoying is that you always use LOL when you reply, use :) or something else. But thanks, because now i got that Dan which cost 320e used

  • Thanks for watching! Maybe so...-BC

  • Hi Buddy,

Question: I'm a novice guitarist; I can play this piece (If I needed someone) on my six by picking with my fingers, but on my Ric 12-string, picking doesn't work so well. It seems like you are playing this on your 12 string with a pick and just hitting the melody strings and the bass strings, back and forth quickly. Is this correct? If so, I've got to train my brain to make the pick go quickly (and precisely) back and forth... You're fab advertising for Rickenbacker 12's!!!

  • Thanks! I'll have to play the song again and get back to you to be sure but I think that I used only a flat pick on this one. Sometimes I play the Rickenbacker 12-string with a flat pick and a finger pick. -BC

  • Excellent! I am thinking of buying a HotRod Deville 410 and hearing you has almost convinced me. How do you find the amp playing live with a band? Does it cut through ok?

  • The Hot Rod Deville is an excellent amp in my opinion...although it has one handle and is very heavy, and it is very loud. As far as cutting through, this thing has more volume than most people will ever need. I have two of these amps and both have been good ones. Mine are made in the USA...and I am told that they are made in Mexico now. You'll have to check around on that. -BC

  • Hey body thanks for make me feel so godd my friend.

  • Buddy..EXCELLENT ! You're not only a master of the Ric, but you have been able to consumately TUNE your guitar and get it dialed in. THANK YOU for keeping alive the incredible sound of Rickenbackers, and those great sounds of the 60's.

Are you playing through a vintage Vox amp by any chance ?

  • Thank You! My Fireglow Ric 360-12 with vintage Toasters has the standard 6-Saddle Bridge that supposedly can't be intonated...LOL I am playing through a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4-10 amp and other than compression, that's it! The rest is me for better or worse. Unfortunately for me, I am starting to lust after Montezuma Brown 360-12's but I am too late to buy one new. Maybe one will turn up for a reasonable price and if it does, you'll see me playing it too...LOL Thanks for watching! -BC

  • Buddy, do you tune down a half step like Roger McGuinn does on his 370/12?

  • No...I tune all of my guitars including the Ric 360-12 to standard tuning E A D G B E. I read somewhere that Roger Mcguinn recommends this because of the pressure/tension on the neck of the 12-string but John Hall(Rickenbacker CEO) and others say this is unecessary. These babies have double truss rods anyway! -BC

  • the sound of the 12-string rickenbacker is perfect.

    Beautiful song.

  • Thank You! -BC

  • Well done and very interesting. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for watching! -BC

  • Great tone, it sounds perfect!

  • Thank You! -BC

  • Wonderful job, Buddy. Any chance you'll cover the song that started our love affair with the 360/12, "A Hard Days Night"?

  • Thanks! I may do that one eventually. I do know it. The first chord was the "shot heard 'round the world"! -BC

  • Great job Buddy. There's nothing like the sound of a Rick. Didn't George have a 6 string Rick also or was it just a 12?

  • Both

  • Buddy is there any difference between the Ricky 330/12 and the 360/12 apart from obviously the appearance.I'm thinking of getting one...

  • As far as I know, there is no difference. The 360-12 is a little "fancier" ...but as far as the sound, etc. they are essentially the same. -BC

  • wow nice playing, got to love the Rickenbacker !!

  • Thanks for watching! It's a special guitar for sure! -BC

  • The 12-string sound really nice and you nailed the song. Congratulations. Tks.

  • Thanks for watching! -BC

  • i have to ask i love the rickenbacher style and especially george's but where can i get one??

  • Most any major music store or chain of music stores sells them. There is a fairly long wait from the factory on certain models so you'll have to look around a bit. Thanks for watching! -BC

  • k thanks bro

  • thanks for the video , i´m from Ecuador

  • awesome! those guitars sound so cool.

  • Thanks! I have had Gibsons, Fenders, Epiphones, Takamines, etc. and nothing that I know of sounds like a Rickenbacker. They are different from all others that I know of. -BC

  • Nice work!

  • Congratulations! Very good!

  • Dear Friend...Ricky's are the best and most beautiful guitars of the world...I possess a 370/12...graet Job*****

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Thanks to the You Tuber..."thefamilycat" for your comment even though I deleted your comment by accident...LOL But to respond...It would take a whole lot more than me to change the face of today's music scene! Thanks for listening. -BC

  • Beautiful!!!

  • The Rickenbacker 360/12.....it doesn't get any better than that man....great taste!!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • is that the way that guitar sounds on all amps or just vox?

  • My Rickenbacker 360-12 is running through a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10 Tube Amp! I don't have a VOX Amp...but maybe one day I'll buy one. The guitar might sound even more vintage through a Vox AC-30 or similar but I like the sound I get through the Fender Amp. -BC

  • would you recommend getting one? i have heard they are not good at staying in tune.

  • I own Gibsons, Fenders, Epiphones, and Takamines and the Rickenbacker stays in tune as good if not better than the others. -BC

  • are you using any effects?

  • A small amount of compression and that's it.

    -BC

  • Love the Beatle stuff. Lot's of fun to watch and listen to.

  • Thanks for watching! -BC

  • still no complaints lol keep up the good work man =]

  • I'm sure it's a matter of time...LOL -BC

  • That was pretty accurate!!! Why do in certain songs you have the song playing, and in other songs you don't have the song playing in the backround? This was intended to be a very trebly song when 'The Beatles' recorded it, your guitar fits that sound. Is that because you have the treble turned up on your amp?

    LONG LIVE THE BEATLES!!!!!

  • The reason my guitar sounds the way it does is because it is a Rickenbacker 360-12 String and that is how they sound. The treble on the amp is actually turned down. As far as backgound tracks... sometimes I don't feel like bothering with it so I just play the guitar without one. - BC

  • Nice. The volume is up A LITTLE too much.

  • NEVER! hehehehe

  • Very Nice.
