  • LDS scholars are reluctant to admit that it isn't Lehi's dream, and they certainly don't announce it from the pulpit, but the evidence is conclusive that the original assertions were incorrect.

  • However, LDS scholars now agree that the stone does not represent Lehi's Dream at all. It is a carving of a tree for crying out loud. There are trees all over the place, it isn't that far-fetched that there is a carving of a tree.

  • but they didn't deny it either, leaving people to believe that it was in fact the so called "Tree of Life Stone". In 1960, an Apostle named Marion G. Romney was hopeful that it was a representation of Lehi's dream, but didn't take an official stand on it.

  • Many LDS members have seen this famous stone carving as evidence to the veracity of The Book of Mormon. Many members of the church believed that this stone represents Lehi's dream of the tree of life as described in the Book of Mormon. The leaders of the church didn't confirm this assertion,

  • Once Again - sorry no evidences here in this vid just alot of grasping at straws and wishful thinking!!

as much evidence here as evolutionists present. :(

  • @TotalPreparation There is more evidence for the book of Mormon than the Old Testament at this point.

  • @LDS4Life71

I am sorry but thats not true !

produce the evidence if u say its there - and not a i said so but "the evidence"

  • @TotalPreparation You are sorry, because it is absolutely true.

  • @TotalPreparation The tree of Life stone in izapa, Mexico is great evidence.

  • @LDS4Life71 For several years, many LDS have made great claims concerning "Stela 5, Izapa" which was found in Chiapas, Mexico, in 1939. In 1941, the Smithsonian Institution and National Geographic Society sent an expedition to study the stone. In a letter to the author of this book, dated May 1, 1963, George Crossette, Chief of Geographic Research at the National Geographic Society, said, "No one associated with our expedition connected this stela in any way with the Book of Mormon

  • @LDS4Life71 ." In spite of this, several LDS publications have pictures and comments made by Smithsonian Institute and National Geographic Society which leave the impression that they support the LDS claims.

  • @LDS4Life71 Mormons like M. Wells Jakeman have published articles in newspapers and periodicals claiming this stone helps prove that the B. of M. is true. LDS usually refer to the stone as "The Lehi Tree of Life Stone," because it supposedly has many similarities to Lehi's vision of the tree of life in I Nephi 8 in the B. of M. Some newspaper articles even claim that the names Lehi, Sariah, and Nephi are on three name glyths on the stone.

  • @LDS4Life71 Some newspaper articles even claim that the names Lehi, Sariah, and Nephi are on three name glyths on the stone. But, there are no "name glyths" on the stone at all! George Crossette also said in his letter that the stone is almost a duplicate, in every elaborate detail, of the so called "Chapultapec" stone, of unknown provenience, now in the National Museum of Mexico.

  • @LDS4Life71 sorry my friend - grasping at straws

  • @TotalPreparation only your opinion

  • Comment removed

  • @LDS4Life71 sorry wrong again - everyones opinion except a few mormons.

the LDS leadership has even stated 'officially' it is not "The tree of Life stone as stated in the bom" and that they were wrong!

obviously failed to read the "Truth" as in my pasted article comments/research below

  • @TotalPreparation Oh officially? can you cite a source and reference? I think it is the the correct translation of the stone, and it may have even been the one commissioned by King Mosiah.

  • @TotalPreparation Wells Jakeman is correct with his over 100 parallels to the book of Mormon and the stone stela V also called the Tree of Life Stone. You are just in deniall.

  • Comment removed

  • @TotalPreparation Only the word of the LORD Jesus Christ thru his servants the prophets like in the book of Mormon. You got nothing.

  • @LDS4Life71 You mean your lord jesus christ who is the brother of satan and a god out of the many gods that exist, and of which you wish to become, (a god also)?

  • @LDS4Life71

    lol

you haven't heard a word have you?

I find it sad when suposed intelligent people believe such nonsense and show loyalty to leaders that lie.

  • This is awesome.. I'm glad I stumbled upon it haha

  • He wrote the songs detailing the long-ago appearance of Jesus in Kirtland.

Last year, Johnson served at director for "This is Kirtland!," a familiar circumstance for many members of the cast and crew. For example, this is the seventh year Johnson and his family have been involved, he said.

  • Set in the 1830s and told from the point of view of a non-Mormon resident of the community, the play and its music were locally written, and more than 50 members of the Kirtland Latter-Day Saints Church perform in it.

"Sunny Morton, who lives in Euclid, was largely responsible for the script and music," said Nate Johnson, who this year plays the narrator, early Kirtland resident Christopher Crary.

  • This video is very telling as to the MANY evidences reflecting Hebrew Israelite influence found in Meso America!

  • And if they are not the words of Christ, judge ye...for Christ will show unto you, with power and great glory, that they are his words, at the last day; and you and I shall stand face to face before his bar; and ye shall know that I have been commanded of him to write these things....

    2 Nephi 33:11

  • Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

    Revelation 3:12

  • MORmONS

  • Dr. Hugh Nibley commenting on our research (Nov 7, 2003), "...After this, those who challenge the Book of Mormon will have some heavy explaining to do."

All the new evidence pointing to geography and physical evidence found since 2003 makes the Smithsonian Institutes Statement of 1996 about obsolete.

  • Unlike the favorable reports on righteous members, descriptions of the Church and its doctrine have often been untrue, unfair, and harsh. It should be acknowledged that some descriptions of Christianity in general have also been very harsh

  • The voice of the Lord is clear and unmistakable. He knows you. He loves you. He wants you to be eternally happy

  • It is the Holy Ghost that reveals how you may clear the next seemingly insurmountable hurdle. It is by the Holy Ghost in you that others may feel the pure love of Christ and receive strength to press forward. It is also the Holy Ghost, in His character as the Holy Spirit of Promise, that confirms the validity and efficacy of your covenants and seals God's promises upon you

  • And again, what do we hear? Glad tidings from Cumorah! Moroni, an angel from heaven, declaring the fulfilment of the prophets—the book to be revealed. A voice of the Lord in the wilderness of Fayette, Seneca county, declaring the three witnesses to bear record of the book! The voice of Michael on the banks of the Susquehanna, detecting the devil when he appeared as an angel of light!

  • The voice of Peter, James, and John in the wilderness between Harmony, Susquehanna county, and Colesville, Broome county, on the Susquehanna river, declaring themselves as possessing the keys of the kingdom, and of the dispensation of the fulness of times!

  • Recent discoveries of NON LDS scholars with the help of NEPHIPROJECT . com have really Rocked the foundation of the Christian world. Their only defense is "NU UH."

I'm so thankful for my knowledge that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is scripture, another testament that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the LIVING GOD!

Members are still REQUIRED to pray about the BoM. see Moroni 10:3-5 God answers every humble prayer!

  • Book of Mormon Evidences.

  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Only true Church on the whole Earth. The spirit of God testifies with the words of the missionaries that spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the 4 corners of the earth! They are God's messengers and God's angels.

    LDSdotORG

oh yeah their building a temple in Rome, Italy! Look at how fast God works!

  • No. Look how fast the MEN in SLC spend YOUR money. God doesn't need great and spacious buildings to impress people.

  • "God doesn't need great and spacious buildings to impress people. "

    correct

but like Solomon of old, we give our best to build a House of the Lord!

  • I built an alter like unto the one in the Celestial Room of the temple in my backyard. Does that make it acceptable to the Lord? Jews build temples. Are they an acceptable "House of the Lord"--just because they SAY it is?

Question: Did Solomon hold an "open house" to show off his handiwork before the dedication of his temple?

It's that "to be seen of men" PR attitude of the LDS that makes most of the diff btwn the two, omiolo.

  • The 2.5 BILLION dollar mall in downtown SLC is MORE representative of the REAL god LDS worship--the almighty dollar.

Paying money to get to heaven is the ultimate in LDS sacrilege.

  • "I built an alter like unto the one in the Celestial Room of the temple in my backyard."

that is the problem with turning into an ANTImormon.

You then become unable to tell the truth!

  • I'm NOT anti-Mormon. I am anti-MormonISM. BIG diff.

"Unable to tell the truth" = liar.

What does that make you when you say that you answered my "Korihor" question when you and I both know you did NOT.

All Mormons who lie are anti-Mormon.

    Welcome to the club, omiolo.

  • "I'm NOT anti-Mormon. I am anti-MormonISM."

that seems to be a code phrase lately. As if it makes you feel better about something...

  • No one of you wanna-be apologists have changed from calling me (and others) "anti-Mormon". "Feel good"?

You CARE how I feel? Naw!! For me it's about accuracy--something you obviously don't care about.

Code phrase? Everything is a conspiricy with you, isn't it, omiolo? Here I thought I had invented a new concept...DANG!!!

  • "What does that make you when you say that you answered my "Korihor" question when you and I both know you did NOT"

I did. Sorry you continually embrace things that ONLY benefit you!

  • I FOUND the original discussion we had on Korihor--and you DID NOT "answer" (read "make excusses for") the Korihor problem. Unless you count all the whining you've done as an answer...Where is it the Lord says liars will go, omiolo? Enjoy your stay there, AND...say "hi" to GBH whilst your there.

  • "and you DID NOT "answer" (read "make excusses for") the Korihor problem"

    You are LYING!

Not only did I, I also gave various reasons of thought with my conclusion.

    FAIL!

  • Then PROVE it by showing us all --HERE AND NOW--by repeating the answer or give us a link to your answer (dated to 6 months ago when you first claimed you answered the problem). Until you do so, YOU, omiolo, will continue to be the psychotic LIAR you have thus far indicated yourself to be. NOT answering will be the confirmation. The ball is in YOUR court, big fella...

  • "YOU, omiolo, will continue to be the psychotic LIAR you have thus far indicated yourself to be."

actually I am Mormon, we do NOT lie. We believe LIARS go to hell.

Now let us compare that to ANTImormons. The believe NOTHING happens to you if you LIE, or you at least get a congratulations from other ANTImormons!

  • "WE" don't need to "com[pare" anything.PROVE to us "Mormon's aren't liars" (YOU in particular), by providing the answer you claim to have given me 6 months ago by repeating it here -- or, you just confirmed our suspicions...

OTOH, what do you have to show that I have lied--ANYWHERE?

  • "by providing the answer you claim to have given me 6 months ago by repeating it here "

we have been over this repeatedly. Find our conversation and you will find the answer. It really is that simple.

  • Chrsitians dont lie either. Christians want to point out the truth. The bible it self disproves and warns about beliefs such as The mormons. yet where it disproves, it was not translated correctly but where it proves Mormons, it was translated correctly interesting., lets pick and choose what works for us out of the bible, GREAT Strategy If the bible is not all true, how can you trust all the book of Mormon?.

  • "Chrsitians dont lie either"

Mormons are Christian. So your WHOLE premise and thus your conclusion is full of DISTORTION.

    FAIL!

  • In a the definition that they(Mormons) follow a christ, but not the same Christ that Christians that do not accept the teachings of Joseph Smith. The Jesus that the mormons speak of is not the Jesus of the Holy Bible.

  • "The Jesus that the mormons speak of is not the Jesus of the Holy Bible."

which Bible? There are so many!

  • notice I said THE HOLY BIBLE., maybe diffferent versions, but they all same the same message. See the Holy Bible is a supernatural book. You can not understand it and live by it with out the help of the Holy Spirit. what I mean by different versions is one may say Thou shall....and another may say You shall, meaning the same thing, but says it different. I will say it again...The Jesus of the Book of Mormon, is a different Jesus of the Holy Bible.

  • "notice I said THE HOLY BIBLE., maybe diffferent versions, but they all same the same message"

so then are the Catholics correct or the Protestants?

Because their message is vastly different!

  • there message is the same. there traditions are different. I have mixed friends. Protestants and Catholics, we believe the same thing...we read the same Bible.

  • "I have mixed friends. Protestants and Catholics, we believe the same thing"

Catholics and Protestants have been at war for centuries because their beliefs are different. There are STILL remnants of such in N. Ireland.

  • look...protestant , catholic, whatever...if there at war then they are both wrong. But here in the USA, I do not see no war. By the church I go to, I am protestant. But with God its SOOO beyond that. I dont identify I am a protestant, I say I am Christian. It doesnt matter what Church you go to, as long as it teaches the Core Gospel of Jesus Christ. The bible supports Martin Luther(founder of protestant) cuz of what the catholics were doing then. non of your comments really make sence.

  • Hi Daffy, I am an Englishman, and I am aware of the war between catholics and protestants in Northern Ireland, because of their disagreements of the same book. Different doctrinal disputes. So.. which religion correct? The Bible is true, yes, but which religion?

  • I am not sure what each side is claiming to be "right" I will have to look into it. But its not about religion. A true follower of Christ would not start wars. Do not compare by which religoin/church you go to, compare to what the bible teaches, and in a nut shell and general meaning, the bible teaches LOVE. and not love by works, but love by grace and faith of Jesus Christ. Just because someone claims Jesus with there mouth, doesnt mean they claim Jesus with there heart.

  • People who do such are not Christians. I love Mormons. I really do if I didn't I would not know God. I follow the truth. I listen to the truth. when something crosses my path that I am confused on I pray and study all area of what is in my path. the good and bad via the Bible. I compare facts with the bible. and i find they agree most of the time. when I compare the Book of Mormon with the bible, and look at the credit of Joseph Smith (hardly no credit at all) I do not see much truth to it

  • ..I have...and I dont rely on my intellect and reasoning, like i said I compare to the bible. Joseph Smith was known to trust the Jupiter Talisman, known to bring Power, Money, and Women. the credit I am talking about is hes writings and teachings, some have been proven false by secular methods, and others are false according to the BIble. He does not have any bibical credit. (see next comment)

  • I am astonished that you only select the verses where it mentions "grace" and ignore the verse in the bible about "works". Modern Christians often ignores the verse with "works". If you thin k works is a false doctrine, you're "working" on here! lol.

  • I didn't compare the bible with book of mormon. I didn't use my own intellect and reasoning. The Book of Mormon were proved to be true by asking God if it is true. The Holy Ghost will bear witness to you. If you say it was Satan. Then Satan is superior to God by taking over my prayers. No it was NOT my emotions either because I was AGAINST mormonism. When I had the answer, I've joined on the spot. From Saul to Paul.

  • I was born and raised within the church, and tho as a youth I leaned upon the precepts that my mother taught me.

If you do the study of the entire gospel of Jesus Christ you will find that Christ's church can only be one true church with a specific organization and with a foundation of Apostles and prophets to lead and guide them.

Joseph Smith was a humble man and was taught and taught how not to act early on. When the Lord taught him more thru administering of angels, Joseph was putty.

  • WayneTheWriter

You know fuck all about 'Norn Iron'

  • WayneTheWriter

You are one cock suckin' know nothin' numbskull son o' a bitch and if you cared to look on my channel you would understand where i'm comin' from there is no god no jesus no fuckin' nothin' and Joseph Smith was a liar ,a paedophile,a bigamist'a con artist and a murderer. How's that for foul lanuage?

  • The Book of Mormon is TRUE!

  • Using foul language WILL lose respect from any one from any religion. It shows your lack of life. So, stop being bitter and move on. If you don't like us, tough. Get over with it and face life for a change?

  • Dumbass tosser

  • you're not a christian!

  • Duh! you don't say. I'm an atheist you dumbass MORmON.

  • Ignorance is bliss

  • Also, as a christian you shouldn't look at the church as protestant or Catholic. Find a church that teaches right out of the bible. A church you feel at home to. A church that followers the Bible alone, and teaches the Gospel.

  • "allot"? Is that a REAL word?

You are right TCLDS. There IS a lot more in that website. Like HUGE suppositions, and a ton of what-ifs and maybies. A lot of stretching facts into LDS conclusions.

    Self-serving balogne...

  • how come people most of the time dont view this type of video? people always want to hear the negative side.

  • Not so, morelj05. People want to hear the truth rather than the negative lies that are posited as "truth".

  • I find this video to be a wonderfully put together and appreciate the time and effort put forth to defend the faith of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as the Book of Mormon.

Let us remember though, that no religion on the face of the earth can have science to "prove" anything. Science can not prove whether or not Jesus rose from the tomb on the 3rd day, so we can not trust in science to prove the truth of our Gospel. It is only by one's faith that they may know.

  • Only by one's sincere effort to come closer to God and to know of His will can one know whether or not the Book of Mormon or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true, restored Church of God and His Son Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon offers a promise to all who read it's pages that if they will pray with faith and real intent, that by the power of The Holy Ghost, they will know it is true. May all who wish to know seek to know for themselves find the truth!!

  • invisus89 said: "...no religion on the face of the earth can have science to "prove" anything..."

Does the name Galileo ring a bell for you, invisus? The biblical idea of geocentrism was TOTALLY destroyed by science. DNA has destroyed the LDS concept of Israelites/Christians inhabiting the Americas, pre Columbus.

Where did you get this idea from?--by ignoring reality?

  • My attempt to "come closer to God" caused me to leave Mormonism AND the BoM fairytale behind. So much for your theory...

  • "My attempt to "come closer to God" caused me to leave Mormonism"

Just like the guy in Luke 18:18!

  • Your attempt to equate the Brighamites Church of SLC to the one Christ led is pretty sad.

There is NO comparison. Was Christ's church a money-grubbing farce that we see in Moism? Was the "church" worshiped as the Mormon idol it is today? Was Christ's church a 501(c)(3) corporate creation of the State as Moism is? Was His church ruled "tax exempt" by the taxing authorities of his day as LDS, Inc. is today by the IRS?

    No way, Jose'...

  • I think this is a fascinating *early* and *young* science, which will certainly advance our knowledge of many things and peoples anciently. However, it is truly, strictly, and totally in its infancy as of yet. There really can be no hard and fast conclusions drawn for or against much yet. Lets see what is in about 35-50 years. There are exciting discoveries ahead of us!

    Best,

    Kerry

  • Yes the science is young. However, if artifact(s) were to surface, indicating the people MAY have been Old Testament Adherents (600 BC to 30 AD), OR indicating the people followed Christ (to 400 AD), that would be wonderfully supportive of the LDS view. The interesting thing that would ALSO occur would be your attitude toward the "science". All of a sudden the science would morph from being in it's infancy to being extremely advanced and viable and wonderful. Is that not true?

  • IOW. PooPoo the science--UNTIL it provides some substance to your theories.

  • No, that's not even true.

  • Comment removed

  • If that is "not even true", why is it that you are placing so much weight on the "X" factor and at the same time, petulantly dismiss the rest of the DNA genome?

PS. " X " doesn't match the BoM time frame.

  • The two black figures on 1:59 are both honoring The Mayan sun god, Ahau-Kin who was often depicted with jaguar features. They would put black ceremonial paint all over their body to mimic the black fur of the jaguar and wear jaguar inspired ceremonial masks (as depicted in your video) to honor Ahau-Kin. The head gear on the other figures depict other deities. Try not to confuse people with false facts! The Mesoamerican Paleo-Indian populace were capable of growing beards! Stop lying!

  • The first Spanish visitor was Juan de Grijalva in 1518 , and in the following year Hernán Cortés came with a fleet and destroyed many Maya temples. Some 40,000 Maya lived on the island then, but smallpox devastated them and by 1570 only 30 were left alive.

  • Smallpox devastated the island, but not conquered by force. I guess I should have made this clear.

  • Thank you. Archeological evidence of caucasian migration and populations existing in the Americas pre-Columbus is QUITE interesting... especially in light of Amerindian resentment of the European/ caucasian conquest of America post-Columbus. BUT none of this information supports belief in ANY religion whatsoever. It simply informs us regarding historic human demographics.
