Chicos, un poco de orden. Lo toca en el tono original, pero con la extension de la bomba de un semitono. Por eso lo toca con posiciones un semitono mas alto, pero suena en ReM.

you can't say he's better than pyatt, it's comparing apples and oranges. He can play consistently louder, but Pyatt's playing is incredibly sensitive. For my money, radovan, dohr, pyatt, and somerville are the best in the world right now.

completely right, stefan dohr has a completely different approach compared to david pyatt. In my opinion, dohr just tanks the shit out of everything whereas you rightly said pyatt is much more sensitive.

This man walks all over Pyatt. Compared to him Pyatt is the musical equivilant to watching paint dry. Plus Vlatkovic is not afraid of letting his sound get harsh, which, I feel,lends his far more expressive weight.

Everytime I hear Radovan play I get goosebumps. Have heard him live play Strauss 1 & 2 and the Weber. Quite exciting.

I know the piece is for horn in d, but from the fingering he is using, it looks as though the horn he is using is a G horn as opposed to a F, Bb or any combination

It's an A horn. He's fingering it exactly as you would on the Bb horn if it were in Eb. Take the both down a half step and the piece is in D (where it's supposed to be) and the horn's in A, and the fingerings remain the same. Makes the finger work a lot easier and it'll be a slightly bigger horn, so it sounds somewhat closer to what was originally intended...albeit still a much smaller horn. =P

Nope. He plays a Paxman model 20, Medium bore. F/Bb (Sib) but has chosen to re-arrange this piece to play not in the original key of D but in the key of Eb (Mib).

@mJbb23 mjbb23... there is no arrangement... it sounds obviously D-Major with Eb horn fingerings... I also play a paxman 20 but there is a strange thumb behind the horn which i believe lowers the pitch a semi tone.... so you should use the fingerings of semi tone higher to reach the original sounding... D major... I would love to learn what thumb it is... it might be useful also for orchestral solos in terms of softer and easier slurs...
