Mendelssohn – 3 Cântece fără cuvinte

Chopin - Berceuse op. 57

Chopin - Barcarolle op. 60

Liszt – Studiu transcedental nr. 12 "Chasse - Neige"

Liszt – Rapsodia ungară nr. 6

Cine va merge, va avea parte de ceva minunat!

Listen to Cherkassky's recording for a more individual and improvisatory approach. Cherkassky performed this concerto throughout his long life and made it familiar to concert audiences.

Listen to Pletnev's interpretation and you won't even think you are listening to the same concerto. His is extraordinary!

PT is my fav composer of all composers - but cnt.1 is more famed simply because it is more catchy all around. Pretty much all the larger works by Pyotr are great indeed.

Concerto #2 is so freakin' amazing. The first concerto is perfect, of course, but this one does not deserve to be ignored. I loved it from first listen a decade ago.
