Connery's wig did well to stay on with all the ensuing mayhem that was taking place. Great special effects,ha ha......NOT! You can just about make out the strings. Fair dues to one of Scotland's finest, like Michael Caine (Swarm, Jaws : The Revenge) he was never a snob when it came to making films, if bills needed to be paid etc. Connery had some fine roles in the 80's though (Outland, Highlander, The Name of The Rose and The Untouchables spring to mind).
Meteor is one of those guilty pleasures - a movie so bad it's good...And I'm proud to say that I have a copy of Project Icarus, the report referenced in the closing credits.
¿What do you expect from a movie from 1979? When better computers are like one Atari, (my respects for Atari). Impossible to get special effects better than depicted in the film. Anyway, I love that movie.
@retrogamescl well,if u think about star wars 4, it was made in 1977, which is older than this movie. and this movie isnt anywhere near to the special effects of star wars. so it was possible to do better on meteor.
@longzilla1 yeap, you right. the george lucas team did an amazing work on star wars, visual results never seen on another movie. They was pioneers in the use of models and motion control system for robotic cameras, I think the name of this is dykstraflex, created by John Dykstra.
The toyish-looking space platforms as well as those endless shots of missiles resembling bowling pins slowly flying past the camera were the worst part of this movie.

@longzilla1 : Possible, yes but practical? Remember this was a really low budget flick.
