@DjRyBiz Sorry for the delay. No, you do not need a DMX controller to run the light. It has built into it 2 pre-programmed automatic modes (random effects/patterns/colors), 1 for when the light is on the floor and 1 when the light is hung upside down from a truss; as well as 2 sound activated modes, 1 for the floor and 1 for the truss.
The 200 has 10 extra degrees of pan, 14 channels as opposed to 13 on the 250, and weighs about 15 lbs. less. Also, the 200 has 9 colors + white with 7 gobos opposed to 7 colors + white and 5 gobos. They both use a 250 watt lamp. The beam angle is wider on the 250 than the200. I got all this from Chauvet website; I have never used the Q-spot 200 before though.
They do have 2 beat activated modes; 1 when the unit is on the ground and 1 when the unit is hung upside down from a truss. You can find them on EBAY ranging anywhere from $500 to $900 depending on the condition of them.
I agree with you; I was rushing myself to get the video cut and posted here and in the process left out a lot of info. Thank you for your honest opinion!
soo, do you actually need a DMX controller with this? or can it just run in sound active/stand alone mode

Good work, nice attitude!
Missed a bit about the lamp itself though:
Is it dmx controlled etc.
Also wanted a slow(er) rewiev on the different gobos (but that's me..)
The video mix and talk is absolutely top class :)
Good luck
Regards Chris (musician, not dj yet) ;)
