@TheBigBanDayZan What i did was i went to storage and transferd my latest skyrim save and i put that in the new cloud storage hardrive and when i go to play skyrim i have to select the cloud storage device but it works maybe itll work for u :).

Thanks Dude!! Excellent assistance for my same problem. Mine was gunked up to. But I put it all back together and tray won't open.... Duh when I reconnected the drive I'd accidently unpluged one of the connections from the motherboard. But once fixed all is working well!! So again Thanks!!
THIS CAN HARM YOUR XBOX!!!! bad idea.. if it worked thats great.. but watch out because it can harm your xbox! get a memorex CD/DVD OptiDisc I used it on mine and listened to the first (4 i think) tracks and it now works (what i was thinking was.. if it dont run my games.. why would it run THIS?! well it didnt run it.. AT FIRST.. then i started messing with it and BOOM the cd wanted to work.. (luckily) and now im playing black ops! haha thanks anyways.

at 0:18 the lens is on a rail, if the lens is all the way away from under the disc tray, you need to slowly move it back, you'll hear clicking sound as you go but thats fine. My only god damned problem is opening it

yo i have a problem. when ever i try to install a game it goes to 48% and said disc unreadable??? even though the disc is perfect i tried it with lot of games that arn't even screatched and i tried cleaning them. the funny thing is that they work when i play them but they don't work to install??? how can i fix this
its not under the edge of the disc push it slow and carefully towards the disc. it worked for me when i put a disc in and it tried then displayed open tray. hope this helps and saves you some money.
Yeah i agree if you want a defo 100% clean lens but i also think you should keep the drive bear and hook it up as if you was putting the machine back together also note you must take the magnet spinner off the roof of the drive casing or else ur 360 will turn into the reaper of UT :P.Now connected with no screws to hold in it u should put a game in and put the magnet on now attach the cables and dont touch the metal case thats the insulated earth:( watch the laser and see if

@wowwowwows Could be a Magent issue. Carefully open up yer xbox then take tyhe disk tray out, depending on the type of Disk tray you have there will be a magnet that holds the disk in place that sometimes gets stuck. First try putting a disk in, then tapping the top of the xbox as the disk goes in and keep tapping it till it reads the disk. It may take 3 or 4 trys. If it does read the disk doing this, then its defo a magnet issue.
My problem is different. I put in Modern Warfare 2 and it say's "Play DVD". Then I put in The orange box game and it says the same thing! Play dvd! and it says i have to put the game in an xbox 360 console! But when i put in an actual dvd movie, it works perfectly! Any help any one?
@wstrn606 That could be a firmware issue. If your out of warrenty you can try flashing the firmware, but this is not easy to do and can result in other complications (like XB live bans)

you can always go to a local movie rental store and they usually have expensive buffers they can use to get scratches out. they might charge you a very small fee but it worked for me after my modern warfare 2 cd got scratched by my the lens.

I am having problems, I played red dead redemption but about a quarter of the way through the game just has so many glitches i am unable to keep playing, returned the disc twice and got new copies so it rules out the disc, my system is about 7 months old. I also bought a brand new GTA4 but the system doesnt read the disc and keeps saying that the disc in damaged/dirty. Any one have a clue what to do i would really apreciate any help at all. Hey, the games I play: COD4 and World at War, nearly always crash as I load up maps on multiplayer. The discs are fine with minimal damage, and are fine when loading up the actual game, they only crash when loading up the multiplayer maps. Is this to do with the laser? If so I'm gonna try cleaning it.

i have the problem xScouseWalshy has, the MW2 disc ONLY. (all other discs/games working fine!)(the MW2 disc has hardly been used, looks imaculate!) really annoying! even when game had been installed to the hard drive!!! tried deleting the install. clearing the cache, removing hard drive, still get the error about cleaning with a soft cloth.
I had this problem also on my Benq disc drive, what I did was take it all apart (exactly like in the video) and located two small screws just behind the laser (should be gold screws on a Benq ain't sure about any others) and then I turned them both anti-clockwise a notch (from 12oclock to 11oclock) put it all back together and voila, it worked perfect. Now back to playing Modern Warfare 2 :) Give it a try if all else fails.

@wasneveranoob it may not be your xbox ussually the MW2 discs are defective i have four copies and it dosent read them or it could have been your game case with those holes it has on the back of the case

@wstrn606 That could be a firmware issue. If your out of warrenty you can try flashing the firmware, but this is not easy to do and can result in other complications (like XB live bans)

This exact problem happens to me with EVERY game! new and old, its really annoying and this is my xbox's 2nd disk drive, the first kept saying open tray and i managed to fix it for a couple of days but it went right back into the samething, so i replaced it with this one and now all it says it play DVD, and when i put an actual DVD into the system it plays it , wth -.- .. any help with that please?

you can always go to a local movie rental store and they usually have expensive buffers they can use to get scratches out. they might charge you a very small fee but it worked for me after my modern warfare 2 cd got scratched by my the lens.

Man i have been getting this problem.My Xbox360 does not read some of my games.I just put the disc in and nothing happens.One of the disc always says to clean the disc and after 2 or 3 tries it runs the game.I even have to eject the tray and put it back in to run some games.

Of course, the real solutions to this problem is as follows.
1. Unplug Xbox 360, take to nearest window.
2. Throw out of window.
3. Go on internet and buy a PS3.

I am having problems, I played red dead redemption but about a quarter of the way through the game just has so many glitches i am unable to keep playing, returned the disc twice and got new copies so it rules out the disc, my system is about 7 months old. I also bought a brand new GTA4 but the system doesnt read the disc and keeps saying that the disc in damaged/dirty. Any one have a clue what to do i would really apreciate any help at all. Could it be software of what?

Hey, the games I play: COD4 and World at War, nearly always crash as I load up maps on multiplayer. The discs are fine with minimal damage, and are fine when loading up the actual game, they only crash when loading up the multiplayer maps. Is this to do with the laser? If so I'm gonna try cleaning it.

i have the problem xScouseWalshy has, the MW2 disc ONLY. (all other discs/games working fine!)(the MW2 disc has hardly been used, looks imaculate!) really annoying! even when game had been installed to the hard drive!!! tried deleting the install. clearing the cache, removing hard drive, still get the error about cleaning with a soft cloth.

I had this problem also on my Benq disc drive, what I did was take it all apart (exactly like in the video) and located two small screws just behind the laser (should be gold screws on a Benq ain't sure about any others) and then I turned them both anti-clockwise a notch (from 12oclock to 11oclock) put it all back together and voila, it worked perfect. Now back to playing Modern Warfare 2 :) Give it a try if all else fails.

2. Restart the console"
I have kept cleaning it, nothings working. What would you say I should do?

@xScouseWalshy does it have a big circle around the disk if it does that means it has been hit from the thing below the disk tray when the disk tray is close it some times it hits the thing lots of time witch causes the circle around the disk if u dont have a circle then the only thing i could say is get a new game

@wasneveranoob it may not be your xbox ussually the MW2 discs are defective i have four copies and it dosent read them or it could have been your game case with those holes it has on the back of the case
