Nice! I like the finished work. Here are some things to add. You need to design your characters thoroughly before you start the comic, What will they look like from different angles, and doing different activities. You need to consider your story. Each story has a beginning, middle, and end. For younger students, remember - every story is a mystery! Your reader won't know what's happening until you tell them, somehow in your work.
Just because you know what a character is thinking, doesn't mean the reader will. These are points I've found need emphasis for younger students. To really study the subject, look up Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics, and look through everything Bill Waterson ever did. Calvin & Hobbes uses every technique possible. Also Frank Cho's Liberty Meadows.
that is so odd, coz i do it the other way, to make the characters more fluid. I dont mind covering art with words. I usually just draw a ellipse where I want words and do less details in those bits
@RufflesArt definitely, go in with a light pencil first, draw your characters, then your bubbles and the go back over to finalise in pen.

I tend to rough out the drawings first to see how they'll fit. then I do Word ballons and then go back to roughing out the art :b

I like to do the art, then scan and photoshop everything else. Text boxes are important but I never thought of putting them first...well see.

oh wait, scratch that. You should rename this video how to make a comic STRIP, as comic books and strips are two very very different things.
not being too anal here, just a necessary distinction
