yeah this is pretty much awesome. I just learned my first tune, barnyards of delgaty on the chanter, give me a few moremonths of lessons and I'll be learnin this reel. nice piping. i like your ceilidh pipes too, they're sick
Jesus christ man slow the hell down. That tempo is so far beyond your capabilities that you're missing out about 50% of the embellishments. You're running before you can barely walk there!
in this you are rushing and speeding up, and all your notes were being crushed together. in essence slow the hell down, cuz it didnt sound good at all. there is such thing as playing a tune too fast
sounds pretty sexy epically the way you played the fourth part. i might start playing it that way. there is however a noticeable difference in tempo at the beginning of each part. its impressive that you can play that fast, but even more impressive would be a controlled tempo with a lot of feel and expression
@picopanpipe9 Smallpipes need less air, actually. You should try bellows sometime, particularly if you're only playing smallpipes--better for reeds. Good playing, though! Get yourself some highlands as well!
@picopanpipe9 nope the small pipes are a lot easier to play than the highland pipes I wouldnt say im the greatest. nor the worst but i have both I sometimes struggle with the highland pipes but playing the smallpipes are a lot easier to keep going :) (Y) would reccomend playing them through smallpipes first untill your really comfortable with it then going onto highland pipes
@d1v4dPwnz To clarify, smallpipes you end up blowing more than on a set of big ones, but that is because a big set can (obviously) hold more air, but this means they (again, obviously) take more air to fill. A good way to gauge is by whether you can play pipes or chanter longer, i personally can play normal pipes longer than an unmuted chanter, because i actually end up blowing more when i play chanter, than when i play pipes, same goes for smallpipes, but smallpipes are easier than chanter.
That's pretty awesome!! I could use some pipes for some gigs that I play in the area. Where abouts are you from? I'm a fiddle player and I play in a celtic rock band part time.
Sounding good mate, but you might wanna slow it down a little because that last bit was a bit sloppy otherwise your playing quite well with decent gracenote definition and mostly clean notes. Good effort
Good job. I too am a big fan of Heath Richardson or Slainte. Its amazing how badly he gets bashed on youtube, and how much people dont appreciate his playing. I think he is awesome, I dont know why people think he sucks so bad.

more like clumsy piper. you're obviously awesome, but an audience will not enjoy a tune that they cant tap their toe to.

good, but too fast. slow down and concentrate on playing well and accurately - the speed will follow. If indeed it's required at all!

Smallpipes are made to be played sitting down, son! Haha, but it sounds good. I'm surprised they're not bellows-blown like most smallpipes o-o

Shame to spoil a good tune like that.

are smallpipes easier to inflate then the great highland bagpipes?
d1v4dPwnz 1 year ago
@d1v4dPwnz I've never played the highland pipes but from what I've heard smallpipes need more air.

@picopanpipe9 They don't its about the same. Easier if you play with bellows(But thats kinda obvious.) How long have you been playing mate?
792284001 1 year ago
@picopanpipe9 Uh, no. The highland pipes take much more air and pressure than the smallpipes (since they are larger and louder).

This tune would be much more pleasing if you slowed the tempo. No one is impressed with music so fast that it's just noise. Play MUSIC.
